  1. New people: Read this, say hi.

    You're hilarious.
  2. New people: Read this, say hi.

Yeah, well I started with Mystery House in 1980, after passionate nights spent pleasuring Roberta Williams by the fireside. I was so virile in my 20s, and after good ol' Roberta was satisfied (boy, she was an animal), we would sit next to each other on the loveseat and snuggle while using the Apple II. Those were the days. I sure hope Ken Williams never finds out.
  3. LEGO and the four types of player/creators

I think I've also been sort of a combination of all four types, although most people will probably answer that way... but when it comes to actual Legos, I was never destructive, because of risk of breaking the toys. It was probably some of my OCD tendencies I inherited to keep everything nice and complete, as well as together. At a younger age, I would put Legos together as the imaginative type would, but became a more structured builder type up to the point I completely stopped playing with Legos. This article also made me remember at like age four or something, I had a small Lego set that made a snowman when put together the way the instructions said. I lost the piece that made up half of the snowman's shoe and made the connection that God (the Christian one) took it away because I had been a bad boy. I also used to be afraid of going to hell a lot around that age. Thank goodness I don't believe in that stuff anymore. But uh, lame childhood stories aside, I used to build more of my own levels and customize in games, especially Worms Armageddon, but as I get older, I really only have time to play as a consumer, since I am required to create in real life for my job. I have no use for using a game more than an entertainment experience or a ride, hence why I will only tend to play single player games with endings these days, none online.
  4. But do you even know what you could have done with a Disney Sound Source?! I mean if I had that, I could have made my OCD Mickey adventures in Follow the Reader have voice without tons of ear splitting static and distortion! I think you also could have used that sound card for a few shitty Roger Rabbit PC games too. Oh Disney Sound Source, such a great buy!
  5. I FILLED IN MY TAX RETURN!

Isn't it usually around the same time every year?
  6. I FILLED IN MY TAX RETURN!

I have until April, unlike you guys, and I'm just going to do it later just because even though I have all of my forms already.
  7. Your favorite game glitches!

What is this game called? I remember I had this game, although it was probably pirated. I never figured then that it was buggy though, although I was in no way near old enough to drive. I had assumed that when you start driving insane at high speeds, you are bound to make your car fly 100 feet in the air from a wreck. It had instant replay too, right? I'm just now having all of these flashbacks of the hours wasted on screwing around in this game.
  8. New people: Read this, say hi.

Rad dudes? More like Bad Dudes.
  9. Your favorite game glitches!

That video was just amazing... I'm awestricken (stricken with awe).
  10. Send us questions!

I was just sharing your sentiments with you. I hardly know anything about the Amiga except it was supposedly kicking the normal IBM PC's ass everyday back then. I don't think it ever caught on in the US, so to this day I don't think I've ever seen one, let alone played an Amiga game that wasn't ported to work in DOS.
  11. Send us questions!

    Fucking Amiga Power...
  12. Send us questions!

It would just be a lot cheaper to hand over the games instead of going through the trouble of wrapping a chair and sending it.
  13. The Thumbs non-essential crap joke thread

And then she sprayed feces all over the kitchen table and wall.
  14. Economically F'd in the A

I don't think the tax payers had much say in the matter. All decisions in the U.S. were made within Congress despite all of the angry calls and letters from the people who are supposed to be represented. It's such a big mess, and the census is somewhat vague among the population, but I have a feel a gratuitous amount over the majority of Americans were against a bail out of any kind, with party politics and Mr. Bush's fear mongering urgency not making much of an impact. This is all my guess though. I certainly feel cheated. Maybe I have a really bad attitude, but I feel glad when big businesses fail, no matter who loses their jobs on the lower rung. I feel like more good can come out of the aftermath of a collapse than keeping these lame ass companies on life support.
  15. Well it was a joke with no real bearing to seriousness, nor do I really think people who make things under employment for a company are entitled to anything, since those are the rules and all. Rarely, but sometimes in TV shows or movies, creators get to take away rights to certain elements (characters or pieces of art), so I guess I was referring to that. It was really just a dumb comment with no deep thought behind it to fill the internet up with more text crap. I also don't seriously think only one man made iMuse, and was kind of bothered in the Rogue book no one else got credit for it besides him. Even when they made a little aside for the Best of Soundtrack CD from years ago, they wrote something half assed like, "featuring musicians like Michael Land AND OTHERS." Like the guy couldn't even do some research and list a couple of other names of people who were featured on that soundtrack.
  16. I think somehow the patent should become ownership of Michael Land through blackmail and death threats, thus making Mr. Land rich through all the companies who will soon want to make use of the iMuse system. But I think even if he took it over, it would expire 2011. I don't know, I'm not a lawyer.
  17. I think LucasArts has it patented, so that doesn't really work.
  18. The Thumbs non-essential crap joke thread

I was hoping the punch line would involve feces.
  19. Next² Generation Consoles

Well, in all fairness, hardly anyone was actually developing games for the 32x AND the Saturn was coming out around the same time.
  20. Mini Ninjas

Yeah, the "mini-ninja's" aspect seems like it's totally ready for merchandising. I do like some of the concept work for the non-humanoid characters, but other than that, I've never heard of this game before today, so I'm not really anticipating anything. I'm also not getting a Lost Vikings vibe like some of you.
  21. Mini Ninjas

What do you mean by that? Also what are similar games. Sorry, it just seemed sort of vague what you were talking about.
  22. Sorry, another piracy/DRm article...

I've had better luck with a region unlocked DVD player as well. I don't think I can wrap my head around all of the problems between the formats and why they sometimes exist and sometimes do not. For instance when I load up one PAL game on my PS2 with swap magic, it flickers like crazy until I switch to 60 Hz, whereas other games will be off center, cutting off the bottom until I recenter the screen. This all depends if I'm given the option or not. I've also read on a few Blu-ray forums about situations where a non region locked Blu-ray disc will not play on some players because of PAL video and it not being able to render it. I don't really get it though. It all seems archaic.
  23. Sorry, another piracy/DRm article...

I wish it wasn't so difficult to release things simultaneously all over the world. I also wish they would do away with region coding for movies and games, and somehow make it so PAL vs. NTSC didn't exist. I'm not even sure why there are different formats in the first place. I like that a few games I imported from Europe for PS2 allow me to pick PAL or NTSC, but I've never seen a North American game give the same option. Ultimately though, I didn't know digital sales were really catching on, but Steam would prove otherwise. I also didn't know people like Remo with Steam-love existed in such great number and enjoyed playing all from one module. I'm just one of those hard copy nuts, I like having packaging and manuals. I keep many old consoles around just because I'd rather just play like I've always had on the TV with the actual system and not on an emulator. Ultimately I will succumb, but for now, I'd like for companies to always offer a hardcopy if you are paying for a digital copy, even if it comes later the way Telltale does it. But yes, more power to Steam. I agree with all Valve is saying here, and it seems obvious people wouldn't pirate as much if a legal copy was easier to get than a pirated copy, digital or retail. So again, hooray for worldwide release dates.
  24. Five BioShock sequels

Except when THE GEEK appeared on the show and everyone who played the game or read the comic before then was really god damned confused. I was much less confused when she disappeared in the next incarnation though. What was also confusing was that weird blue pocket squirrel gizmo that was going to appear in the cancelled Freelance Police game, as well as that yellow cat in the trailer dressed as a police man. Those break continuity way more than redwood trees taking over western USA ever would. So glad Telltale got the license.
  25. Godless in America

    Wrong thread?
