  1. Gabe Confirms Episode 3 Cancelled

The only reason I was ever interested in these games was because of Ron Gilbert's involvement, which I have never conclusively found out exactly what he did since there are no proper credits to be found. Besides interviews referring to him as being a story and design consultant, I get confused because either somewhere around the same time or beforehand he became Hothead's creative director. I was hoping a third episode might clear that up. I do currently own the first one having bought it from PSN, but I still haven't played it yet. Other than that, I don't like Penny Arcade's humor, style, or characters (even though this 1920s setting was a big improvement) so eh...
  2. Would YOU pay money to play games with girls?

You know what guys? I don't care if a girl uses the internet ever. I see neither penis nor vagina, only human.
  3. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

That awful talking head and the cuts the cuts
  4. Would YOU pay money to play games with girls?

But then you also need to have the white knight as well, defending her honour at every opportunity. Otherwise it's not a genuine girl-on-internet situation. Quick! Let's all choose our roles!
  5. Would YOU pay money to play games with girls?

I want to know more! Also I haven't really played online since the Worms days (being called a yank ad nauseum) outside of some Dreamcast type stuff, but how do you know who you are actually playing half the time? I only play online on my PS3, but unless someone has a mic and is running their mouth, I have no idea who they are. I also don't seem motivated enough to buy a keyboard or headset at this point, so maybe that's it? I guess on Playstation Home your avatar should say as much, but you can be whoever whenever. Home is terrible anyways.
  6. The Whispered World - 23 April

I've been looking forward to playing this game for a long time. I'm not crazy about some of the Disney house style look of some of the characters and animations, but then a lot of it also looks nothing like that. Either way, the style doesn't really suit all of the backgrounds, like most of you have already said. I'm wondering for those of you who think the animation is choppy if you have seen any recent trailers? I'm not saying that the animation isn't choppy, because it definitely is, but I've noticed a lot of the same scenes keep popping up in the trailers with more inbetween frames added. But then again maybe you all just checked out the gameplay video or the new English trailer, where it still shows most of the animation has been left choppy? Thanks for the heads up that there's an English voice trailer now, but goodness it sounds awful! I guess this is the usual treatment for low profile games getting English releases, but maybe if they still have the German voices in the game, I can hopefully play it with subtitles. If the voice acting is still bad in German, there's a good chance I won't notice. Also, I think Deponia and A New Beginning look very promising as well. Maybe the people at Daedelic can only get better from here? From what I understand Whispered World was started in college by the artist and expanded upon for a retail release, I think... I think it probably won't be as dreadful as Gilbert Goodmate, Kolzig, but I guess I'll find out...
  7. My mom's favorite game is drinking alcohol, but not on Steam.
  8. Would YOU pay money to play games with girls?

Not unless you are being charged hourly for her play time.
  9. ATI

I have an ATI Radeon Graphics Card onboard my motherboard on a PC I had my dad build about a half a year ago. It's a very low end ATI card on a much higher end everything else and the menus still look like this. When I actually get around to buying a proper card since I only went with the onboard graphics card to save money for the time being, I might have to see more about the usability of other brands. I used to have an Nvidia GeForce on the computer before that and the menus were much nicer and more involved.
  10. Would YOU pay money to play games with girls?

Haha, that's great. What are you waiting for?! Post it! Exactly. Also on another forum I go to, someone brought up that the long held myth that girls don't play video games is nearly vaporized at this point. So sites like this are banking of a stereotype which was much cooler to portray in the 90s. Chances are you could just as easily fall in love with a woman in real life who would just play games with you if you asked (if she's not already playing 'em). Hell, my girlfriend doesn't even like games outside of super casual ones, but she happily finished Four Swords Adventures with me a few years back just so we could have fun together.
  11. Would YOU pay money to play games with girls?

If I had that kind of money to spend per hour on girls and I were that lonely, I would just go ahead and buy myself a hooker. You would probably have just as much fun with less of the risk (or is it more?). It appears the Gabe Newell Gamecrush profile someone linked me to the other day has been deleted or is unavailable right now. Sorry guys and gals. http://join.gamecrush.com/index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=userProfile&user=2037&Itemid=56 Maybe it'll come back someday.
  12. Spam Email

You're receiving Nigerian scambait. You can screw around with them if you want by pretending over and over that you really want to accept the money but there's some sort of problem that's preventing you from doing so. http://www.419eater.com/index.php I've wasted too much time reading through that website for a lifetime I think.
  13. The Witness by Jonathan Blow

Can someone please change the thread title to say, "The Witness by Jonathan Blow? More like Witness Jonathan Blow" for old times sake?
  14. That really sucks, man. I really don't know if I could possibly add anything helpful.
  15. Office Pranks

    Shit on Deborah's desk. NisCkxU544c
  16. Amazing! Gaynor likes Orbital, winrar! Now I'm interested in this Chime game seeing that it has Hartnoll solo tracks (I think Orbital splitting in two made me realize he was probably making most of the hooks I liked) and Lemon Jelly... or one half of Lemon Jelly.
  17. Garriott on the Moon

Fuck yeah, privatize that moon to hell! Put a Chipotle there!
  18. Trouble on Blobolonia

Sounds good, Miffy, I think I may get it soon then (if anything I really need to relax lately), it's $18 on Amazon currently, so I'll probably order it later today. I always enjoyed the concept of A Boy and His Blob, and I would really like to play a version where things are done right (and look beautiful and animate well to boot), since David Crane seemed to think it was appropriate to make his original game near impossible to finish. I think I'll play it concurrently with Cave Story and make some use out of my Wii.
  19. Trouble on Blobolonia

How could you possibly know the *actual* influences without having spoken to the art team or art director? You are actually starting an argument since now you are just acting like an arrogant jack off and don't like my "impression of it's influence." I know you dislike Braid's art style, but avoiding any possibility that this new Boy and his Blob could have had the art team taking cues from Braid's success to try out a similar painterly traditional style for a commercial game is just being purposefully dense. Even checking out the link Noyb posted to Hellman's blog should be enough to say it's not crazy to get the image. And as Thunderpeel said much earlier, in no way is it bad thing that people are using a similar art style for new 2D games. I'm sorry I bumped this thread, I should have just made a new one to talk about it, geez.
  20. Cave Story

I think this is out now. I might get it soon after I finish the campaign mode for Brutal Legend, since it seems like my type of game.
  21. Trouble on Blobolonia

Come on man, I didn't bump the thread to continue this argument, I already went over it earlier in the thread. I'm still interested in the game EVEN if I still think it's ripping off the style or at least inspired by the style used for Braid's backgrounds. Sounds good. I do like the character designs for the kid, the blob, and the bad guys and the clips I saw of the cutscenes look charming. I'm guessing it's no where near as infuriating as the original Boy and his Blob then? Is it sort of "puzzle-lite?" I'm guessing it would be alright if it is as long as I don't get bored after a while. Really anything would be better than how tough the first game was.
  22. Trouble on Blobolonia

GrouchoClub, are you enjoying the new Boy and his Blob? I'm still on the fence about getting this, but it beckons for me.
  23. 2010 BAFTA Games

Social ostrification? Does that mean that people will think he's silly for suggesting all of these games most people have no heard of? Also, was it this person who shouted to get Flower an actual award? Flower sort of seems jammed in there.
  24. Nintendo 3DS

I was planning on maybe getting the DS XL, but I guess it would be important to wait again.
