Yeah, that's part of the seedy side of the whole Humongous/Hulabee deal. It's unfortunate that Ron sold the company, because when I was trying to find out more about Shelley Day after that happened, I remember instead finding a few artists pages where they spoke of how great it was to initially work at Humongous but the last year or so after it was bought by Atari they had major problems with overtime and their paychecks bouncing. I think someone even said it was months before he even got paid at all. Makes me sort of think of what happened with Sierra, but of course that was way worse.

Bungie makes 10-year deal... with Activision

I think maybe because he was going to say that publishers will front the money for a lot of development, but not all the time. I think the use of publishers could be simply gotten rid of by a game studio hiring a few marketing people, attracting certain investors, as well as someone who knows how to manage the QA and platforms the game will be published on. I don't understand the use of anyone arguing how important publishers are in the lives of video games and that they really should be kept alive. -
I'm still hoping to buy it soon, and while I probably won't get around to playing it for a few months, I want to check and see if I can just have the game play the voices in German while I turn on English subtitles. What I've heard of the voice acting so far is just atrocious, which is unfortunate. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/the-whispered-world-review I get the feeling from having read the Eurogamer review that it sounds similar to how I imagine I might feel after having finished it. I doubt I'd be as finicky with weird puzzles as they seem to be, even if the now offensive key in the door lock on the otherside puzzle is in there. If anything the Eurogamer review makes it sound as if it's worth a try and that Daedalic can only get better from here.

Sounds like these are something I'm going to have to seek out and have a beer to. Goodness! I hope they were soggy enough so that your nasal passages are okay.

This is what sucks. If he weren't in any way given a writing or story credit, I'd avoid the movie completely and tell it to blow it out it's hole. Whatever that saying means.

I guess it only took PC World slightly less than a year to change their mind.

I'm not sure if there's anyone who can easily say they haven't for sure, even without being smacked in the chest by a bat. Also, SquidDivision, I'm glad you didn't lose control or anything. My dad told me once in his younger days when he owned a motorcycle that a wasp had flown into his helmet and stung him a few times. He pulled over, but that is some freaky shit to me.

This is pretty ingenious. It's almost as if you are behind it all.

Haha, Qix is a fine game for 1981, just it was very disappointing to have an underwhelming budget port as my first Game Boy game.

Cupcake cannon is awesome! I want one of those attached to the front (or back) of my car.

I think all Disney movies are propaganda for children to commit suicide.

Or just taken them all and solved them first before giving them back to us human underlings!

lavEBgt_IsE This also exists outside of Youtube, but you know.

Actually I take that back. I sort of like the smell in the way I like the smell of gasoline.

You're right, I remember that there was a limit now. I think the engine weight that was made for me was just at the limit or barely below it. I don't remember ever spending a lot of time thinking about the lubricant, so maybe that was my problem. Was graphite lock lubricant legal? If that's the same stuff I bought a few months ago for a lawnmower, it really stinks. Haha, it's long gone now. I think shortly after that I convinced my parents to get me Kirby's Dreamland instead, but I don't remember the occasion. Everything turned out fine.

FUCK I remember the pinewood derby at least. My dad had gotten one of his friends to weld me this awesome looking engine weight. It had little exhaust pipes coming out of the side. I then painted flames on the side of the car. It moved like shit and lost every race I think due to it being too heavy, but it was still really awesome to me. I remember Cub Scouts was responsible for getting me my first game boy as well. I had to hock a bunch of stupid coupons outside of a grocery store all day to win it out of this catalog, but I was determined to get that mother fucker. And I did... along with a dumb flashlight. It didn't come with a game so then my parents bought me Qix for Christmas.

Shit, that's it! Thank you so much! I never even realized it was a Sierra game either. It appears it was much older as well, developed in 1984.

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

I'm going to recommend Electric Six for like the fourth time in this thread. URu2NvNFzHE -
I mentioned this in another thread, but can someone identify this boxing game from before 1989 where you play either a black guy, a white guy, or a kangaroo? I think it's colors were CGA only and it may have been for the Commodore first, but I'm not sure. I played it on my dad's chunky work laptop maybe 1988.

I think it makes sense, but I would feel inclined to pick apart the decoration just to look at the files inside. I think I just like snooping in people's stuff. I've been kicked off friend's computers before for that... I would probably enjoy the floppy disk decoration or art more after I knew what was on each floppy.

:tup:Hell yes! It all sounds like a great idea! I'm already interested in seeing what will come out of the Pilot Program next!

Crap, I think even though this thread started out really stupid, it has only gotten better with each post and has now made me realize how much I love robots. Every video posted is just amazing. Wonderful stuff.

Ah, you're right! There is a difference. I was never in Boy Scouts then, I was a Cub Scout only.

Bungie makes 10-year deal... with Activision

:( Oh here we go. Look, I'm just being a dick, I didn't say they were merging. I do realize that. By "all of their games" I meant the ones for the next 10 years. "Edit real response" is there for a reason since I *knew* you were going to reply to me with your matter of fact manner since that's what happens if I ever post about anything business related. But I suppose I'll be taken care of by the fanboys soon for my lack of concision.
