I don't beat Patters, but I must seriously have 110 games to finish and no interest in listing them all. These are games for NES, SNES, Playstation 1, 2, and 3, Xbox original and 360, Genesis, Sega CD, 32X, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, PSP, GBA and other Game boy, DS, Mac, PC, Amiga, Oric (or whatever the hell this is), MSX, and some Nick Bruty designed Commodore 64 game. I just don't want to know how many there are outside of each system. They just sit in a pile. I expect to spend 5 more years finishing them all. But on my current playing list is Donkey Kong Game Boy, Metal Gear Solid Substance, Infamous, Pajama Sam, and Boy and His Blob. I tend tackle 4 or 5 at once. To be fair, some of the games I have on the list, especially the old ones, may take less than an hour to finish, while some might require me to sink up to 60 hours of time in them.

You just wait. This is going to appear in many google searches.

Really?! I had no idea there was one in development. I figured little ol' Kirby was dead now. This should be great news!

Advice for teenagers interested in the game industry.

This thread is going to be a major bum out, I just know it. I don't really have room to talk. Besides the fact that I went to a crappy diploma mill school and that I often have a lot of extreme self doubt in my abilities as an artist, I've been working as a concept artist and animator for three years at this tiny game company. I don't get paid as much as some of the people I went to school with, but it's been fun for the most part. I'm trying to leave now though for many reasons, which are unimportant to this thread. My experience has mostly been positive. I've been stuck with the PC police for a lot of projects with characters being asked to look a certain way or being a certain ethnicity or age, therefore eventually making everything bland, but I also get to do a lot of cool things I never thought I'd be doing as my first "industry" job like storyboarding full sequences or getting paid to draw all day for weeks on end whether I'm coming up with awesome ideas or not. Sometimes I find myself enjoying being forced to draw in a style that's not my own or happily working away at things I never thought would be fun. I enjoy the challenge that comes with the variety of tasks. The most major draw back is that my company makes research health games for multiple clients so these either never get seen or are unplayable messes of too much information conflicting with gameplay. The only reason some kids even play the games I've worked on seems to be because they are paid to do so. Also I sometimes have to work on illustrating crap for websites or architecture type things when my company has to do stuff other than games to stay afloat. Sometimes I rack up some overtime for various projects and I have stayed overnight a few times, but about 85% of the time I've been here I've stayed within the 40 hour work week. I also am not under the scrutiny of all of the awful minimum wage jobs I had before college, thus allowing me to happily type away this message at work. Part of the big picture problem is, I know I have a good setup here and I feel scared about getting a job at a real game company that makes games people ACTUALLY play compared to the phony one I work at because I know of all of the stories about copious amounts of unpaid overtime or the constant threat of being fired hanging over you. Maybe this isn't all places, but how can you know before you get hired? I also get upset when certain artists or animators happily work 80 hour weeks in order to spite the others not staying as late and in turn move up. Some do it for the money or some do it because the reason they work at a certain studio is because they were a fan of said studio foremost. A lot of artists don't seem to value their personal or social time and are very career oriented, which is something that it seems the higher ups in the industry are all too ready to take advantage of in many cases. What really sucks is, a guy who dropped out of art school early on is installing satellite dishes and making the same amount of money if not more than me. He only works 40 hours a week within four days and gets paid time and a half for any hour overtime (past 10 hours on a regular work day or past ever hour over a 40 hour work week). The more I work at my job, the less profitable it is, because of salary. In truth I don't think I would really ever care that much about the projects at any company I would work at unless it were small or owned by people I want to do well or have a personal stake in. I would just prefer to get paid to draw/animate/or create all day, but not at a detriment to personal happiness or your own personal projects. I would definitely feel different if it were me and a group of artist friends trying to get a great product on the market, like The Behemoth or any small company people love. As this thread already seems to be indicating and the stories I hear from friends is, that kind of set up is all too rare, which is very unfortunate. -
Often Amazon will give it a week or so and ship your order separately either way if it's taking too long, but they may not because this is more of a preorder situation and not an out of stock one.

I don't think anyone posted the source of where they got the information (Was it Kroms who posted it?) but a couple of months ago on the Mixnmojo forums someone said Telltale had been bidding on some Sierra franchises at some point. It may have been recent or it may have been a few years ago before the Activision buy out. I doubt Jake's allowed to say publicly, but that's just a guess.

Maybe Kethrine should be made a mod for being the best spam bot ever.

I sort of wonder if the guy really had that much thought or say in things. I know he's a fan, I've read the interviews. I'm sure somehow has some inside info saying otherwise, but still... The small game download culture is sort of where everyone's heading with or without LucasArts, and now's a great time for remakes, deluxe editions, and rereleases in just about every industry. I don't subscribe to that notion at all. An effort was made and all, but unless it was fully successful, which the SE fell extremely short of, it's not getting my respect. I don't know why we should all care so much or feel sorry for these rich business men and their dreams of profit. I'm really more interested in the creative folk who will continue to be creative whether they are getting paid or not.

Thanks, now I'm pissing blood.

Hey that was pretty awesome as well. Fucking hell, toblix, 3 days ago you're asking about programs you can make music with and already you're doing as well as someone who I'd expect would only this capable after about a year of hard work fooling around with the music making programs.

It was a great list, I swear. That was quite a lot of games you finished in a matter of months. Really. I don't want to die.

A happy tune. It's like for walking around goofy on a children's TV show. Awesome work.
-
Why don't you cross them out, then? EVERYTHING MUST BE CROSSED OUT Or a check. I like those.
-
But what if you fail to beat those all within the designated month?

I guess everyone forgot about this: Last I checked there was a whole fan forum set up for a mass of prankers to fakely gush about Big Rigs Racing. I think they even started conducting interviews with the game designers. -
That is true, he was referring to Future Big Dog.

There you go, it mentions Ubisoft. That would have been a great thread title. We've had much worse in the past (or best!). I figure everything game related belongs in gaming, whether it's an actual game you play or someone in games.

Why is this in Idle Banter?

Metal Gear Solid 4 - Guns of the Saucer Men From Mars

I think that's supposed to be a side thing for a Monster Hunter crossover much like the Snake vs. Monkey thing with the Ape Escape games. -

I'm going to have nothing to really add to this thread for maybe years since I'm still plowing through Substance at the moment, but I want to say I agree with this despite people who hate Twin Snakes for other differences. I can't stand the 32 bit era 3D and even to an extent most Nintendo 64 games just for the lack of of clarity. I know both systems ran most games in 320x240 if not all, but something seems smoother or more playable with the 3D in many 64 games. Often though, I can hardly see what I'm doing and tend to feel sick when I play these type of games. I dread having to get to an early 3D version in a series, but it really doesn't happen TOO often. Even shaky textures jittering around upon movement makes me feel awful. I admit I have not ever played the original Metal Gear Solid past the Tank Hangar on Playstation, but Twin Snakes was so much more refreshing to play. I finally finished VR Missions a month ago, and I felt like I was playing a much more primitive game. Any part requiring me to shoot a gun was so frustrating because I could hardly see what I was doing or where I was aiming. -
Does anyone play this online? I'm not very good at all, but it's a lot of fun and besides dying a lot, it's very non-stressful. Mostly all straightforward shooting but you can run treasure and do co-op missions as well. I like feeling the camaraderie with people I don't know. I think it's possible to team up with people on your friends list and play against strangers online. If anyone is interested in playing, my PSN username is Syntheticgerbil. Also I think I need to get a USB keyboard or something because typing with a controller to people while playing a game is nuts. I don't want to get a headset because then my girlfriend will call me a nerd (but in a loving way I'm sure!).

WHY IS A DOG DRIVING?! WHY?! I CAN UNDERSTAND THE DOG BAND BUT DRIVING?! Also they should have just made it a direct Karate Kid sequel since it has the guy who plays Mr. Miyagi and all.

I have the Siege pack but I've only messed with Survival mode a few times. I pretty much suck at Survival mode for now, but it didn't seem impossible. I had a hard time just trying to figure out where the enemies were spawning on each map.
