Kroms, are you suggesting we squint our eyes while playing this game?

You have to constantly give your bike the correct maintenance and fluids before unraveling the murder plot.

There is probably no better location to commit suicide than a cheap hotel, really.

The Idle Thumbs Podcast Episode 12: The Silken Goku

If you've ever referenced DOTT, then you can not be mad at ROTT simultaneously. Rules are rules. -
Goblins is new age gaming to the brink.

Tasha Harris is art directing, and I've never been too keen on her style, so maybe that's it?

Yakuza 3, the closest thing you'll get to Shenmue 3?
syntheticgerbil replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Video Gaming
Haha, I have no interest in playing any Yakuza games, but that was a very interesting article Juv3nal. I especially liked the parts where they said how unrealistic the fighting was. There's almost a nice Far Cry 2 reference in there when they talk about guns. Almost. -
Hahah, before the podcast started, it was uniformly like that I think. But yeah, what's up with this? I feel similar to Murdoc. This is like a mash of 4 or 5 different styles in one screenshot. This is all coming out really fast. I guessing it will be good?!

Since this is in Idle Banter, I don't have to talk about Clint Hocking at all. Fuck LucasArts, they haven't made a Goblins game in their entire life.

Awesome, while Goblins 3 is my favorite Goblins, when I look at that image I can't help thinking of the song that goes to the screen. I guess the disk version had a different soundtrack, but the CD one was awesome. It plays on this page: http://www.vintage-sierra.com/gobs.php

So I put in my two weeks notice yesterday (without anything lined up, as said before) so that I can move in with my girlfriend in another city while I revamp my website and portfolio full time (it's too hard to do enough work after work hours and on weekends, making my girlfriend sad I'm gone five days a week). Thing is, I feel terrible, like I let my bosses down. Everyone seemed disappointed and sad when they found out I had wanted to go. At this point the company had shrunk so much and hasn't been doing so well lately that I'm the only artist left, and I was doing like 4 or 5 things at once. I'll probably end up leaving some stuff unfinished, but I offered to freelance anything (hopefully) for them from now on and apologized to just go. One of my bosses was IMing me and asking if it was something they did that made me upset. I guess my explanation to just move is strange, especially in this climate. It is, but oh well. I guess I've never quit a job before where anyone actually cared I was going or my absence would make an impact. I didn't expect to feel so sad about it. I tried to keep my personal life away from the people I work with, as standard protocol to keep from getting to close, as I feel like that stuff eventually leads to workplace politics, but I'm going to miss a lot of people here. On the bright side, I referred a friend who hasn't had a job for 8 months after working for another one of those crooked contract work Houston "movie-making" companies. Hopefully he'll get the job. They need someone who can draw and animate characters, concept and finished, as well as can dabble in 3D... so I think he'll be a good fit. I usually riff things I made off of him and trust his criticism and bug him for technical tips a lot, so he can probably offer more to the job than I can in many cases. I guess the last thing is just I have to work my ass off from this day on or face changing careers from artist/animator back to Kinko's copy jock or photo developer or hotel front desk or waiter or... phone surveyor... bleh.

Easy fix. Make achievements for replaying the full game 6 times over. -
Sounds good to me.

Man, bio is the worst way to describe a bathroom break, if not for the obscurity but that biological functions are getting in the way I presume? MO-CAP DIRECTOR -
I don't think LucasArts has specialized in any sort of point and clicking for a while now, except when remaking the old Monkey Islands.

That :S face was suspect.

Awesome, when I couldn't get it out of my head all weekend, a new extended version happens! Thompson, you are a man of valor.

Oh yeah, I also recently finished Donkey Kong for Game Boy. It was very interesting. It starts off with the first 4 regular levels from the arcade and then continues 96 levels off of that full of puzzle solving platformer goodness. The controls and physics stay the same as the original Donkey Kong arcade (well except Mario can now do a bunch of gymnastics shit). It was pretty tough, but always interesting. Fresh obstacles and new puzzles kept coming every few levels. The only problem is you can only save your game every four levels, so the game tended to be exhausting when one or two of those levels is tough. It took a month or two of bite size chunks to get around to finishing it. It's definitely an interesting Nintendo experience if no one has messed with it yet. I hear it's sort of the precursor to Mario vs. Donkey Kong, but I've only played the GBA one years ago briefly, so I can't say for sure.

This part is just simply awesome. I possibly got too much of a kick out of reading it. I would love to visit more countries, maybe I should make Japan a stop for myself one day? Kolzig seems like he had tons of fun.

Pocahontas is hotter than ever now. I'm expecting her to shoot a laser at that hummingbird. -
I was going to say that even though I'm cheating AMC theaters, there is also almost always some kind of problem with the movie I have to go report to someone to fix. They must have only back up kids working there. I haven't really gone to any AMCs recently. The Alamo Drafthouse is a great experience every time, and they show movies most others won't carry, but they drain your wallet.
-
My favorite thing to do is use my debit card in AMC machines for $6.50 children's tickets and then use them to see a Rated R movie. No one cares enough about their job to read the ticket or say anything. I must have been doing this for the past 3-4 years now. No problems yet, but if someone were to ever say anything I imagine I would just say it's an accident and cough up the money for an adult ticket. Movie prices are fucking ridiculous otherwise.

Yeah, I suppose nothing bad can really come of a good ol' vaginal irrigation.
