Hah, I can barely afford 1.5 mbps a month. I wish I could have 3 mbps as a bottom line. I bet your price is much more affordable as well. I should also mention that I live in a big city.

24 fps, but not always. Both Disney and Richard Williams used 2s or 12 fps, but not very often, if not at all in many productions. I think in particular Richard Williams had some kind of OCD need to animate everything on 1s even though almost all of his stuff that was tested on 2s looks fine (like his pencils that were finished for the released Thief and the Cobbler). So it's one of the other reasons it was partially his fault for Thief and the Cobbler never coming out as he envisioned it. I think Triplets of Bellville and The Illusionist are both almost 24 fps the whole way through from the looks of it. Warner Brothers classic cartoons were more friendly to 2s as well as almost every TV animation ever.

Well, I hope the standard never changes, because it's just going to be hell for animators.

That really makes no sense since the U.S. is so behind on internet as far as availability, reliability, geography, and speed, so why not start offering the service to Europeans foremost? AT&T has really fucked this country in terms of internet.

I think my most prized special edition is Samorost 2 from Russia, just because it was so god damn hard to find a site that would ship to the United States. Someone else from the Machinarium forums had to clue me in. It was also very cheap because of the Russian dollars. I think the most high priced one I have is for Metal Gear Solid Subsistence, because I had to pay way too much money for piecing together a set that had the outer box that would hold the regular game plus the preorder only theatre disc thing. Preorder only special editions suck. I don't know if I can remember off the top of my head most of the special editions I own, but I think almost all were bought second hand way after release. Usually special editions end up worthless, especially the newer ones, because they are not anywhere as limited as advertised and most people don't want to spend $40-50 extra bucks on some junk and maybe a download code. Yeah I agree in the most part. I only get the special editions with soundtracks if I like the composer (why wasn't there one for Tales of Monkey Island?) or art books if I actually like the art of the game. Otherwise my only requirement for getting special editions is just an extra disc either offering additional content or making of videos. Things like crap statues and figurines or other game goodies can really just fuck off because I have no use for that junk taking up space in my house. Bulky cases holding almost nothing is lame too. I prefer my games to take up as little space as possible as it is.

Haha, to me the hints were just kind of gibberish. It seemed like the guy was just jabbering more about the toilet for comedic effect after shooting his mask, but it appears he was a hint giver all along. Thanks for clearing that up.

Alright, I finished the first section last night. I think it may have took longer than I needed to. I did end up maxing out the blood anyway, so I feel stupid, especially because it didn't carry about to the next section. I do like how adventure game this is, but I really don't understand what is going on half the time. Why was the boss an anime girl? Why was there a head in a dryer telling me to leave him be? What's with that masked man giving me the finger? Kind of wish the map screen didn't spell out everything so obviously either. Anyway, I'm enjoying it. I think I suck at shooting things quickly an accurately, so I'm going to hate when I do the hard mode I unlock after finishing it this first time. I want to play more now that I've got into it, so I might do it sooner next week.

You are now bigger than the thumbs!

Wait, you can manual reload by pressing the C stick in some sort of direction (at least if you are playing on Gamecube).
-
Ah good, that's kind of exactly what I was looking for and it helps to know! I kind of paused after doing that so I will probably go back Saturday and finish up the chapter.

Crap! I've been caught! Also, hooray for Milk and Cheese hardcover! I also have a bunch of anthology comics and non collected issues I'm debating giving away, thinking they will be in this book, but not being absolutely sure if I'll get burned without checking the actual book myself first.

I played this for too long last night and I'm really confused as to what I'm achieving. My completionist type senses won't let me move past the parking garage and I've just been farming kills and trying to level up my characters because it gives me new moves. But Sno, you just said there was a limit per level and I've read this elsewhere. There does not seem to be a limit however, as this started with me trying to see how much blood I could get at once, and it doesn't end. I think I may at least try to get everyone at Level 1 abilities before I stop killing the same guys over and over. Is there going to be plenty of opportunities later to max out all six characters? If so, are there any reasons why I really should? And what do I do with that grey guy above the door?

What you need to do is find a lady for your brother and then get her to take some showers! On the first date even!
-
Wow, I know water is somewhat expensive here in Austin, or more than I was used to before I moved, but it's not too expensive to spare a few showers. But I guess that's all relative in the end.

Better start finding ways to blackmail the guy!

The only thing I don't like about Jeff Smith's style as the story went on is that it became more scratchy and humans seemed much less meticulously drawn in some panels. I'm guessing it's because maybe he was rushing to finish the story near the end of Bone, going by the awful art disaster that his Shazam comic was. Geez, that one is hideous. Luckily Rasl makes up for it, but I get the feeling that it's partly because the guy can sit down and take his time.

Had you not written the part where you were sixteen, I would not have guessed based on my idea of how most sixteen year olds type. But now we know and will put you through the ringer! Just kidding and welcome!

"Friends!? Friends!? We've only gone out together three times and already you're telling me you just want to be friends? You never gave me a chance! And for that, you'll fry like a pork sausage!" "It's not that I don't like you. It's just that, well, you're too nice a guy, I guess. I think I'd rather go out with someone a bit more... unpredictable." (Oh yeah, I got that dumb job...)

Finished Beyond Good and Evil HD in almost one full day when I really shouldn't have. Still one of my favorite games ever. I don't feel like it's aged. The HD version looked better but not as amazing looking as Sands of Time HD. I think it's because Sands of Time was kind of in an environment of structures and bricks while a lot of Beyond Good and Evil takes place in more organically shaped fields and islands, where the older low poly sets are more noticeable no matter what higher res textures or normal maps are added. Pey'J and Jade still look great, but the rest of the characters still kind of silly and blocky looking in comparison. Minor complaints but that's how those "Amazing HD collections" go.

TOBLIX! WHY CAN'T YOU BUY THIS GAME FROM THE INTERNET EXACTLY? I mean there's copies on Amazon UK for like 10 pounds, since you probably need a PAL copy. Also stop going away.
-
Hey some people invited me to this and I don't know what I'm doing.
-
I'm on for this definitely! I should read the manual right now! YES! This is exactly what I want this thread lined with! Thanks man! Also as far as spoilers I would think a playthrough thread would definitely have some on default, but those nonplayers, let us know how you want it.

How long's Killer 7 and does it have sections that are easy to come to a stopping point on?
-
Yeah this is the last revision or whatever, but I am pretty annoyed. I guess I'm so desperate for someone to hire me. Hopefully I won't end up making a mistake here but no one else in this city is interested in my stuff at the moment. Yeah I never signed an NDA or anything like that. Not even ownership was spoken about. So I suppose it's mine to put on my portfolio if I want, even though it's really not in tune with anything I do. If they want to lay claim to it, I guess I'll see. I'm going to some Game Dev meet up in town tomorrow that's once every two weeks. I'm going to start asking other working artists about the commonality of art tests. I've heard of programmer tests, but making art assets when you have a portfolio of art ready seems odd to me. If it's not common, I guess I will avoid games places that do this like the plague. If I do get hired, I'm imagining I'm going to keep looking because there's other stuff about this company that I don't like. The places I did want to work at just weren't interested.

I'll do it, I've owned Killer 7 for years and have never touched the damn thing yet.
