I can't seem to find the new website from your linkedin, Stevan. Also El Muerte, I want the next story in the saga!
  2. PETA are sick @#$%ers (Mario kills Tanookis)

This was mentioned on NPR over the radio when driving to work and the reporter started laughing. She also made the note that this has been in the series over 20 years and to be upset right now is more than late.
  3. FM transmitters for cars

Fortunately, I have a Nokia phone that does this, which I didn't find out until a year after having it. It holds 8 GB of stuff and the transmitter is okay if I leave my phone in a drink holder. I figured maybe this was something most new smartphones had. With the droids and the iPhones... but this is not the case, is it?
  4. Costume Quest

No I noticed that too. None of the enemies in Grubbins on Ice seemed particularly tough or much of a mix of what came before. The fact that you're bringing all of the stuff you had before into the DLC makes it much easier as well.
  5. Random Ramblings

Hah weird, I always figured most people felt Grim Fandango's soundtrack was one of the best sounding and best suited game soundtracks of all time.
  6. Random Ramblings

I had to see this to believe it. On another note, why does this site still exist? Who is their readership? Funny enough, their forum is exactly how I remember, a bunch of angry old codgers. On the front page, I can already see someone complaining about the site redesign.
  7. Plug your shit

I love the anteater, I'm considering one still...
  8. Holiday giveaway of 2011

Seems legit?! But it's fucking Erkki!

Also those that are in the credits are awarded the displeasure of listening to that horrible song while trying to find their name. Also I completed Prince of Persia Rival Swords on PSP. Better than the extended Warrior Within release before and this one actually adds a small amount of new story to Two Thrones. Extra levels were not as extensive though. I guess that doesn't matter if they are just done well.

  11. Happy Birthday!

Jake's birthday has been on Halloween all along!

Wait, I thought I had upset you multiple times at Lucasforums back when it came out for going at such length of what a shoddy HD remake that was? I still do find the second remake very pleasant though outside of most of the main character looks. I agree! I was really hoping a new episode, sequel, or some kind of DLC would show up for this years Halloween, because it feels so fresh to play and I really wanted to enjoy it again without simply replaying it.
  13. Uncharted

I find the first one to be pretty hit or miss, but 2 really made me fall in love with the series. Part of it could be that 2 seemed more platform heavy and the stealth kills were done in a way you could clear whole sections out of enemies and not deal with the monotonous gunfighting. I disagree with Cigol somewhat on the end part of 2 where it's more of the same. A lot of killing on that part is strangely teetered on making sure you only use the crossbow. Not sure why, as other weapons seem like they'd be more effective. Once you figure that out, I did not find any of the later parts anywhere as annoying as any of the frustrating shootouts in the first Uncharted.

Where do I purchase these? I need image examples!
  15. Book of Unwritten Tales

I saw this was getting a lot of buzz last year, but everyone looks so ugly that I just don't want to touch it. I feel like I've seen it all in the adventure world, so the only thing bringing me back is good art direction, story, or characters. This is a translated thing probably will low budget dubbers, I'm guessing? The biggest drawback to Whispered World was just the awful acting. Maybe there's something redeeming?

I remember Zelda 2 being that bad, but I do remember it being made easier by having a large Overworld map gif and an FAQ. Just getting through the regular enemies and palaces are hard enough, I can't sit around with those old games and try to break every wall tile or burn every tree. That's non design. But I do feel Zelda 2 had some good ideas, especially the magic part and sidescrolling stuff, which could have been tweaked to work much better.

You could spend about 90 minutes or less finishing Sonic 3 today. But if you're planning on doing Sonic 3 and Knuckles, I don't know, good luck.

  20. Costume Quest

I'm guessing it's because the DLC is included, but yeah, even then compared to the other deals on Steam...
  21. Life

Well I wasn't at GDC, just the free party, but yes, no new people met and alone.
  22. Life

Hello, if anyone here came to Austin for GDC and is at the Six Lounge after party and happens to be reading the "Life" thread on Idlethumbs right now, please come talk to me. I'm currently all the way upstairs near my coworker who has bright red hair. You can't miss her. I have a blue striped shirt. Damn phone foruming!
  23. Prince of Persia 3: The Clunky Ass

Ah you're right, that's awesome! He kind of existed in the Shadow and the Flame as well, but controllable. The manual said the merging with the doppelganger in the original led to the prince being able to separate.
  24. Limbo

Oh I didn't realize it was added. I would have never known it existed had I not read about the trophy, since it involves you going back to a location in the middle of the game. Does this mean the eggs aren't in other versions?
  25. Prince of Persia 3: The Clunky Ass

Hmm, once again I'm posting here since I can't find any more open Two Thrones topics, even though there a lot in the Idlethumbs search. Feel like there's no point in littering another. So to start off, I know everyone was pretty, "meh" about Two Thrones and everywhere else in general, but I absolutely loved this game. I almost like it more than Sands of Time. There's some parts that just completely drag it down and it's not a fluid experience the whole way through. There's also a major high I'm probably coming off of after finishing Warrior Within to note as well. It's just, this story is so great. All of the mistakes of the previous game were fixed, some to ridiculousness (Kaileena's breasts shrink a few cup sizes and are no longer floating, her face is no longer collagen porn start face, as well as her clothes covering much more - all in the course of one boat ride!).Kaileena was just a much more likeable character this time, Farah's back and it's great (even though her voice actress was changed (apparently the original became a lawyer and would not return)), the Prince is back to his old self in Sands of Time and battling the nu-metal bastard inside of him. The plot where the Prince is fighting the dark part of himself did not make a ton of sense on the logic outside of magical sands but it did a lot for the story. It wasn't a glossed over thing and was essentially a major plot point, even though it was obviously tacked on to rationalize Warrior Within away. I would rather have that I think than just glossing over what came before. Just going through the story and having the prince continuously strive not to be a bastard was just great to me, probably because it's a lot for me to relate to. I'm a sucker for duality themes. Gameplay was by the books PoP and suffered in some parts just for having uninteresting areas, while other parts strived and were beautiful to look at. I enjoyed the Dark Prince sections even though it was one of the major criticized parts and all except one of the boss parts were serious fun. A certain part with two large brutes just completely drags the game down in the insane difficulty that is no where else in the game. It's one of those things where I wonder if QA testers played the game straight through and made any notes of that part or if they wanted to tough it out and pretend they were badass to the designers. So yeah, a Two Thrones lover here, even though I know many don't exist. Next up is the PSP version I suppose, which will probably be the same as Revelations with a game twice as long but with the new sections badly programmed and idiotically designed (hopefully not).
