  1. This forum is weird (Look a new topic!)

Agreed. I'm gonna speak as yet another decade old Idlethumbs member on this, since I guess I should? Yeah, I hate megathreads, this forum wasn't always like this, but the last 2-3 years it's been ramping up. And since more members than ever are here, it makes the catch all threads especially chaotic and pointless. It makes it impossible to do what I originally came to Idlethumbs for long long ago: to talk about games. A lot of the reason is I want to read opinions or discussions of games a while back that I missed because I didn't play it plus the other thing is no one talking about individual games ever gets acknowledged much unless it goes in the proper thread. As much as I wanted the way I think it should work, with the search function and unlocked forever threads, I've been shy of posting threads about games I want to talk about now because it doesn't feel like it matters anymore unless it's an AAA game, that's not what most people want here now. It's kind of a downer for me too honestly, Jov. The recently completed games thread is a cancer. I've seen people type more about a game in there than the respective thread it should go in. However I think megathreads in the idle banter area are fine, since you can post whatever here, basically what Bjorn is talking about. I don't know with the Idlethumbs chat going on I don't really even care to post here anymore about games. Look at this thread, I should have posted way sooner but I haven't been here in a week apparently. Even I tried to keep it going the old way these forums used to with using the search threads to bring up the respective game and keep the thread going even if it's years later. I thought that was the neato thing about not locking threads, which I hate seeing on any forum. The only thing that makes this difficult is just some people don't want to search or the other issue is a lot of threads, especially older threads, have a jokey title that doesn't lend itself well to searching (anyone remember those awesome "[game] more like [lame] threads?" I blame toblix even though he had some great ones. Haha yes, me too Miffy. Everyone keeps growing. Plus a lot of these people here (Jake, I think you are the only person who saw me post in elementary school on Sam and Max Inside the Web forums (if Jake is reading this)) have posted even further back on Lucasforums and Adventuregamers, of which this forum is a move away from. It's really fucking weird how much a part of my life a lot of these people have consumed from the internet and I see them forever but we are all not really close friends since we are all separated by so many states and countries.
  2. I Had A Random Thought...

Haha, yeah I didn't go to the store so I ended up using apple cider vinegar. I remember I just used diluted bleach years ago and it went away within a day almost.
  3. I Had A Random Thought...

Somehow I got ringworm and I don't have any bleach. Bleach is pretty important.
  4. I Had a Random Thought (About Video Games)

    I'm gonna destroy you.
  5. Backlog Busters

I can't keep track! I mean I could double check but that's even more work. Let's just say I own 85% of those.
  6. Backlog Busters

Ahaha I want to be like Dewar. My Backlog, have fun: There's probably more, but meh. I figure I'll get to them all if I live until 60. I don't actually own a lot of these unless they are older PC games. Also some are in progress too. It actually doesn't seem SO LONG to me when I type it out. Also older games take way less time than newer games in general.
  7. I Had a Random Thought (About Video Games)

Hmm, I was full of Tomb Raider hate and felt Lara Croft was pretty flat (she still is sort of). Plus all that trumped up sexuality from the original series didn't help my perception. However the new game got me curious about the former Crystal Dynamic ones and I had to go for it, since it's basically the same gameplay as the Ubisoft Princaperjas but with shitty gunplay. However that trilogy completely scratched that "cinematic platformer" itch and had some harder puzzle environments that I enjoy compared to the easy peasy Uncharteds. It matched some of the stuff in terms of difficulty and inventiveness of Warrior Within (the only redeeming factor in that fucking mess of a game) however they didn't have the fun timing jump stuff of Forgotten Sands, but I guess nothing really does. Also pretty much no one played Forgotten Sands. Tomb Raider Legend was pretty easy though, it's probably the worst one, but I really enjoyed Anniversary and Underworld. I suppose a big part of it is liking the gameplay. Besides one part in Legend she was never overtly sexualized besides stupid bikini skins you could unlock by doing time trial stuff, which I did not expect. That version of Lara Croft was fun almost like a female Solid Snake type vibe.
  8. I was listening to this in class and I had to take off my headphones to talk to someone. I didn't pause and the instant I put my headphones on again there was just all this yelling about tit monsters and ass monsters. It was good.
  9. I Had A Random Thought...

It's because Frank Underwood was in an a capella group and he killed a few people and talks like a southern gentleman.
  10. Star Wars VII - Open spoilers

    Just a kitchen fire.
  11. I don't see what everyone sees in that movie ...

The reason Die Hard is a classic is because without it, it wouldn't have given birth to Carl Winslow to create the timeless show Family Matters. Therefore we would not have had Urkel and then Zeusthecat would have never existed in the first place.
  12. Recently completed video games

I got all the achievements in Minesweeper from the Windows App store. Now all the kids at school want to be near me.
  13. Life

Damn, that sucks. I guess I just hope for the best. Can you get as honest as this message was with her?
  14. Life

Huh, that's weird. I guess the finances are really a big thing these days though. One of my good friends recently eloped to New Orleans with his wife. Most of her family was from Mexico and she wanted to avoid the traditional big wedding with her family so she made the plan to just do it quietly on a little vacation.
  15. I don't see what everyone sees in that movie ...

Nope, TV Guide magazine thinks it's the fifth best TV cartoon of all time: http://www.tvguide.com/news/greatest-cartoons-tv-guide-magazine-1071203/ That is irrefutable proof. Plus Bjorn said it is the best cartoon of all time. Scooby Doo wins this thread.
  16. I don't see what everyone sees in that movie ...

Why was Married with Children on TV for 11 god damn years?!
  17. Life

Because unions are against the free spirit land of the free and obamacare, bible says under god.
  18. I don't see what everyone sees in that movie ...

Scooby Doo is fucking awful. Bad drawings, slow animation, predictable plots, reused jokes, shitty audio, and ugly colors. Why that stupid fucking dog is on so much merchandise is beyond me. Also Scrappy can eat farts.
  19. Movie/TV recommendations

Honestly I don't know why there aren't any legit Youtube like sites out there (that aren't porn) that create good competition as far as ad revenue. There's like Dailymotion and that's it. The only time I'm on the awfully made website Dailymotion is to download some kind of thing that has been taken off of Youtube because of a copyright claim.
  20. HOWL O'WEEN (Halloween)

Oh well. I did find me some candy corn M&M's, however no luck with candy corn Oreo's.
  21. HOWL O'WEEN (Halloween)

So scared! Also what is with that pumpkin shortage this year?! :(
  22. Social Justice

Sorry about that. I'm gonna delete it, it's incendiary. I don't at all think it was faked.
  23. Baby Got Backstory - A trope creation thread

    I'm Bringing SexyBack.
