  1. Bonus round on Gametrailers.com http://www.gametrailers.com/bonusround.php First off I would like to say how much I enjoyed this video, I love reading (watching) things that relate to the industry side of gaming. Keep up the good work GT. I would also like to comment on Jason Rubin's thoughts on innovation or rather the lack there of in the industry. If this came out 5 years ago, I would have to agree with what he is saying. However, I think over the past several years developers/publishers alike have re-realized so to speak about the benefit of innovation and you can see this in games like Dead Rising, Bioshock, and Bully. Even EA has some new games coming out (Crysis, Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars, Army of Two) that are not following the same tried and true formula, because I believe they have realized how stagnant their games have gotten. I also understand that sequels are the easy way out of risking the money on new IPs. I think they do not give enough credit to sequels. Personally if they can keep the story interesting and the action fun, I’m ok with seeing a Halo 10, but I would like to see Bungie working on original IPs along the way.
  2. Minna Daisuki Katamari Damacy

Follow-up to Namco's bizarre cosmic-snowball simulator gets a dedicated site of its own. TOKYO--Namco has taken a teaser page for its anticipated sequel to Katamari Damacy live. Now titled Minna Daisuki Katamari Damacy on the official site, the game title translates to "Everyone's Favorite Katamari Damacy." Namco has yet to disclose much about the title, but gamers can check out four screen shots of Minna Daisuki Katamari Damacy online. The game is slated for release on the PlayStation 2 in spring 2005. In a posting on the game's site, the developers working on the Katamary Damacy sequel announced that they will temporary suspend updates on the original game's official site starting today. "Thank you for always visiting Katamari Damacy on the Web. This site is operated by the development staff, but we will have to stop its updates for a while to concentrate on Minna Daisuki Katamari Damacy's creation. Please look forward to the upcoming Katamari Damacy."

  5. Spike TV Game Awards -- unadulterated bullshit

I did not watch it cause i could have told you that was going to happen.
  6. A GTA MMO? Think about it, you play as one of presumably hundreds of thousands of gangsters (or what ever) roaming the streets of San Andreas. Along with the obvious liner story, pvp can play a big part in the game with you joining certain sects and fighting massive drug, territory, you called my momma a hoe battles gaining new territory, drugs, mommas?...anyway think about the possibilities: great music awesome fights between real people. Just thinking about it makes me HARD up for cash. The only real problem i can see is there is a good chance for crazy lag. What do u guys think? Another reason this game would be great is im so sick of swords and sorsery MMO's. I swear if i see one more mmo that lets you be a Knight or a Wizard im going to take what GTA has taught me and go on a killing spree...and of couse blame it on GTA. Im serious though why do people like this shit so much does not anyone say ok guys enough is enough start making one more D&D style MMO and ill taze you.
  7. What does everyone think about....

Why must you hate on larry.
  8. If you ever drop your keys into a river of molten lava, let'em go, because, man, they're gone. To me, it's a good idea to always carry two sacks of something when you walk around. That way, if anybody says, "Hey, can you give me a hand?" You can say, "Sorry, got these sacks." If you lived in the Dark Ages and you were a catapult operator, I bet the most common question people would ask is, "Can't you make it shoot farther?" "No, I'm sorry. That's as far as it shoots." If you ever catch on fire, try to avoid seeing yourself in the mirror, because I bet that's what REALLY throws you into a panic. I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it. It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man. A good way to threaten somebody is to light a stick of dynamite. Then you call the guy and hold the burning fuse up to the phone. "Hear that?" you say. "That's dynamite, baby." Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean ? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind. I hope if dogs ever take over the world, and they chose a king, they don't just go by size, because I bet there are some Chihuahuas with some good ideas. If you define cowardice as running away at the first sign of danger, screaming and tripping and begging for mercy, then yes, Mr. Brave man, I guess I'm a coward. If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.
  9. Xmas games for little Jack

When I was 5 all I cared about was X-Men. Now that I think about it all I care about now is X-Men.
  10. Buy them. Play them. Dont miss out. Right Right Right
  11. World of WarCraft®

I played a 10 day trial. Its a fun game. Way better then SWG. But the one thing in my opinion about MMOs is that after a lot of people start to max out the game stops being fun for everyone. I played SWG for a while stopped and came back when speeders showed up on the scene and no one just wanted to hunt everyone was about only grouping with other high lvl people. You cant have any fun playing by yourself and there are not many other new people so its dumb...yeah.
  12. I think you guys are being a little hard on the game. PoP: sands of time is a great game, and i expect nothing less from this game. They wanted to make the game have more action and thats just what it has, will that be a good thing, only time and a retail version of the game will tell.
  13. GameSpot News: Xbox Only Obsidian Entertainment's sequel to BioWare's groundbreaking Star Wars RPG is at the factory. If you felt a small disturbance in the force recently, that's because Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords has gone gold. Though originally slated for a simultaneous release on the PC and Xbox, only the console version of the game is in production. Rated T, The Sith Lords will hit stores December 6, while the PC version is now due in February 2005. As its title suggests, The Sith Lords is the follow-up to last year's groundbreaking Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Adored by critics and gamers alike, the game was set 4,000 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. Ironically, the game's rich storyline--in which players' choices turned them to the dark or light side of the force--restored the enthusiasm for the Star Wars universe many sci-fi fans lost after The Phantom Menace. It topped many best-of-2003 lists, and was GameSpot's Xbox Game of the Year. The first KOTOR was set during a war between the evil Sith and the Galactic Republic. Players started off as a Republican trooper, but eventually became a Jedi and discovered some very large skeletons in their closet. In The Sith Lords, players start off with an even more mysterious past, waking up on a space station in the galaxy's outer rim with no memory. Eventually, they learn the Republic has collapsed to the point where it no longer extends to the outer rim, which has become a sort of sci-fi Wild West rife with Sith. As one would expect with any Star Wars game, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords is published by LucasArts. However, development duties have gone from BioWare, the original game's creators, to Obsidian Entertainment. The game will be the indie studio's first since it was formed last year by a group of veteran RPG developers who had left Interplay's Black Isle Studios, creators of the acclaimed Fallout series.
  14. San Andreas prequel machinima

Red Vs. Blue can be super funny.
  15. San Andreas prequel machinima

Machinima is way cool. With the music, talent, and skill over at rockstar we should be in for a treat.
  16. Star Wars: KOTOR II The Sith Lords GOLD!!

Ive never played any of Black Isle games. But do you think Lucas Arts or Bioware would put the game in the hand of ppl that dont know what they are doing. I have a feeling this game is going to be just as good or better then the first.
  17. Star Wars: KOTOR II The Sith Lords GOLD!!

  18. "you got a fuckin dart in your neck" "your crazy, i like you, but your crazy"
  19. Its 14.95 a year. Thats not to bad...i suppose. EDIT: You know what would be a great site. A wallpaper site of concept art for games. No name of the game (or company that made it) on it no stupid "November 12" or what ever at the top. To me that stuff ruins a good desktop.
  20. Thank you! I found that second one as well. You have to pay 14.95 to use some of them though.
  21. For those of you that have played this series know how fantastic these games are. For those of you who have not: you play as a giant cat (lumbox) know as Rachet and his robo friend Clank. There are currently three games to the series, though the first one is not nearly as fun as the second and third IMO. In Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal, you are tasked with saving the Universe from the evil Dr. Nefarious. With the help of Captain Quark and the Q squad you must battle through 11 planets and five Quarktastic vid-comics. In Up Your Arsenal you get a total of 16 all new weapons and 4 fan favorites for the previous installment. Each weapon can be upgraded 5 times giving each new powers and abilitys as well as increaseing the amount of ammo you can hold at any givin time. On the second trip through the game (which you will want to do) each weapon can be upgraded another 3 times once the MEGA upgrades are purchesed from the weapons vendor. In the latest installment a multiplayer has been added, though i have not spent much time with it do to the fact the single player game is SO DAMN FUN! This game is a fast paced run and gun adventure that is uber funny and a must have for anyone with a playstation 2.
  22. MGS3 sneaks in, scores 9.6/10

Ive played every Metal Gear game dateing back to the NES. This is one of my most favorite series. But I do have to say, its annoying that you have to eat and heal yourself. The previous games did it perfect. And as aunt jamima always says "if it aint broke dont fix it."
  23. The horror of working for EA

Not to mention working at EA (the largest, richest, and most powerful game development studio in the world, or so i believe) is to some the greatest thing they could do for their resume. Its just like Hollywood its all about what youve done.
