A short time ago in a thread very, very nearby... And just to illustrate your point about how longt it's been going:

I guess I should stop making bong water jokes and chime in to say that I'm not bothered by references on the podcast to smoking marijuana recreationally. Has there ever been a reference to the Thumbs drinking alcohol? They're on the same level to me, like a movie podcast recommending a six-pack of beer to go with a crappy slasher movie. I'd balk at tales of shooting up heroin, but anything up to that wouldn't be jarring to or disapproved of by me.

Nitpicking aside, that's incredibly impressive for essentially one person to have done on their own. Here's a vid about how he inks over 3D reference models:

The whole podcast is pro-marijuana propaganda. "Poopwater, New Mexico" is clearly a euphemism for bong water.

The neighbour below us isn't too bad, except when she gets a new album and plays a track off it on repeat for an hour at a time until the bass line is burned into my ear canals. The neighbours above are incredibly loud with everything they do. They stamp around, they hammer things, they yell conversations. The worst thing when we moved in was their twice-daily sex sessions. For half an hour we'd hear subtle squeaks, then there'd be 5 minutes of jackhammering, then a loud crash as they leap out of bed. This happened at 11pm and 7am every day, above our bedroom. At least we weren't getting woken up by it, though. That is until they started having sex at 4am. After that happened a couple of times, I had to write them a note revealing exactly how detailed a knowledge of their sex life we had and asking them to indulge in more considerate activities at 4 in the morning. Since then we haven't once heard them have sex again, at any hour.

You don't happen to have any links for this, do you? I've read a few interviews where he's made an offhand comment along the lines of it being the worst story he's ever done, but he was never specific about the reasons, so I just assumed he didn't like the writing generally or how heavily it leaned on similar techniques to the ones he was using in Watchmen or something... EDIT: wikipedia did send me to here

It would be expensive to get him the whole lot, but if he likes Saga then Y: The Last Man is a good bet. Same writer, and it's a finished, self-contained story. Or you could get him Private Eye, as recommended above!

Dammit, I wanted to beat you to this one! Well, now the final one has come out, it's a good time to recommend the series again. It's PWYW and I can vouch for the superb quality of at least the first nine issues! It looks gorgeous, it's clever, funny and exciting, and all the money goes to the creators.
