Right, I'm headed to Show And Yell now. Be there about 9. Message me here if you need to find people!

So, what I've learnt about HL2 Ep3 is that Thompson doesn't read books or watch films.
-
Don't worry, I sent some little men with condom hats up my va-jay-jay, they sorted it right out.
-
It's been out for ages! It's all patched up and optimised now though. (PS I was not involved in this one, apart from providing them with genital reference material.)

As a fan of Jackson's previous work, I immediately saw his personality in it, but I know what you mean. Also saw Cyrus, found it very frustrating and misbalanced(?), despite good performances. Dinner For Schmucks was surprisingly good. Carrell, Rudd and Galiafinakis continue to surprise me with how they can tweak their personas consistently to provide fresh performances.

No Xbox because it's too damned sexy but a super-duper patched version for anyone hasn't tried it/wants to give it another go: http://www.zombie-cow.com/?p=919

I like the 'zombie' look they've given Doc - it reminds me of 80s Doc from the first film, when Lloyd had his age make-up on (they had Doc go to a "rejuvenation clinic" at the start of the second film so Lloyd didn't have to go through hours of make-up every day for both films).
-
A remake in DOTT style is also happening.
-
Lloyd and Gale onboard, baby! Wooo! Hope they get Wilson too...

But then you miss The Itchy & Scratchy & Poochie Show, and "The Simpsons Spin-Off Showcase" EDIT: Oh, and "The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson", which I think may be my favourite episode.

Thought I'd better start a non-games thread for this. What did you think of the ending, then, Hermie et al? I had a similar reaction to it as I did to Lost - expectations of a plot- and action-heavy ending were subverted, which meant I was frustrated at first, but appreciative on a second viewing. Annoyed that they switched publisher (in the UK at least) so the spine doesn't match with the first five. Apparently the film will have a completely different ending due to the final issue not having been done when they were scripting/shooting. I bet it's very similar though, as O'Malley surely would have shared his vague plans with them, at least.

CtrlV'ed from a Zombie Cow forum post, so apologies if there's still anyone on both forums: Salt - good action, fun concept, but . Sorceror's Apprentice - everything is rubbish, save Alfred Molina who is ever-awesmoe. How To Train Your Dragon - good action and very cute dragon, but irritating lead character and voice work over all - Jay Baruchel is incredibly irritating, a very nasal mix of Christian Slater and Michael Cera, all the kids are cast too old, and there's a jarring mix of Scottish and American vikings. And Christ the worthless son proves himself to alpha male father plot is tired. Avatar Special Edition - couldn't tell which bits were added (I'm pretty sure there were more nipples, though), but this was still great. Without the 3D it's probably Abyss/T2 level, but it's elevated above those by the visceral, thrilling 3D. Uses it far more effectively and proficiently than any other film I've seen. And Expendables was shit.

Is anybody a sad human like me, and have not played any LucasArts adventure games?

Damn, these spambots are getting clever. They're like 600 series now. -
There are interview clips of Terry in the making of doc that's included on the VHS! I'd be surprised if that hadn't made it onto the DVDs or Blu-Ray. He talks about how well the talking hands came out. Also, for those wondering which bits he wrote, if you google 'Labyrinth Terry Jones script', his draft comes up in a couple of places (assuming it's real). The worm stuff is in there although a little different.
-
This one? Ah well, it's still a great script, and it seems like there are no bad feelings. I think the underlying stuff that Jones wanted in there about Jareth being manipulative and defensive, and Sarah learning to cope with the world and enjoy it, are still in there, along with all the stuff about burgeoning sexuality and choosing her path as a woman (maternal instincts vs passion). I wonder whether Jones wrote all the stuff about Jareth playing with his balls and throwing his snake in her face...

I love Labyrinth. Brilliant script by Terry Jones. Saw Knight And Day today. It's fun and exciting, but let down by a lightweight script. James Mangold (game gold man game jame gold) directs brilliantly, though, especially the action. Every shot is wonderfully composed and thought through and believable, while also fitting into a comprehensible sequence. Cameron Diaz looks faaaake, though. When did that happen?
-
Pffft, with this forum's mods? Unlikely.
-
I had that opinion ages before you, Nachimir. Way to jump on the bandwagon.

Sorry, when I said "I believe most people use", I meant "everyone but you definitely uses". -

Tanukitsune, I believe most people use 'point and click' as a synonym for 'adventure game', even though literally it should apply to any game with movement and button controls. -
Ouch. Yeah, the references are very in your face, but he's doing that on purpose, and I like how stuff like magic kung-fu fights and power-ups suddenly get jarringly chucked into this otherwise naturalistic little character drama with no explanation. I don't think references HAVE to be anything. I am not illiterate, I'm a gamer, and I don't read Kotaku. I'm probably hypocritical from time to time.
