I love Labyrinth. Brilliant script by Terry Jones. Saw Knight And Day today. It's fun and exciting, but let down by a lightweight script. James Mangold (game gold man game jame gold) directs brilliantly, though, especially the action. Every shot is wonderfully composed and thought through and believable, while also fitting into a comprehensible sequence. Cameron Diaz looks faaaake, though. When did that happen?

Pffft, with this forum's mods? Unlikely.

I had that opinion ages before you, Nachimir. Way to jump on the bandwagon.

Is anybody a sad human like me, and have not played any LucasArts adventure games?

Sorry, when I said "I believe most people use", I meant "everyone but you definitely uses". -

Tanukitsune, I believe most people use 'point and click' as a synonym for 'adventure game', even though literally it should apply to any game with movement and button controls. -
Ouch. Yeah, the references are very in your face, but he's doing that on purpose, and I like how stuff like magic kung-fu fights and power-ups suddenly get jarringly chucked into this otherwise naturalistic little character drama with no explanation. I don't think references HAVE to be anything. I am not illiterate, I'm a gamer, and I don't read Kotaku. I'm probably hypocritical from time to time.

Some people are even posting about the movie in the game thread. The moderation on these forums is a JOKE.

Okay, the patched version is up! See here: http://www.zombie-cow.com/?p=886 for details of the patch and (short-term) offers of free games to anyone who emails Dan with useful crash/bug/performance issues.

There's some optimisation going on, yeah. No idea about the XNA thing, I think someone did mention C# at some point...
-
It's out! They're working on a patch, though, so it might be a good idea to wait a couple of days. Will let you know when they've uploaded it...

I was surprised by the sheer overall amount of characters in it. I wonder if the film will reflect that.

Late to the party: Hermie, I can't help but notice that you seem to be a 'sound man'.

No. No better movies than Labyrinth. Went to see Inception instead, was very good, interesting, gripping, but so much explanation of rules throughout that it was hard not to feel distanced from it. That almost works with the themes, though... Princess And The Frog was on a kiddy matinee. Very nicely presented, lots of lovely detail, acting, animation. But the story was very loose and quite weak.

Labyrinth, 1530 today at the Prince Charles today! PM me if you fancy David Bowie's balls and a few beers...

Rodi, that's The Dream Team, starring Michael Keaton and Christopher Lloyd. Peter Boyle ends up naked in a church.

So, Greenberg was quite good. Lots of good performances, but it was all just rather understated and inconsequential. A bit like About Schmidt. Lead actress is really good, and HOT in a completely normal-looking, natural way. Very refreshing, that. Brothers Bloom was fun, not quite as powerful as Brick. Very meandering for a con flick. Kind of unraveled in the second half, but enjoyable all the way through. Bad Lieutenant was hilariously batshit crazy. Deffo the one I'd recommend of the three.

Well, I'm not sure what Marek's long con is, because my bag was handed into New Scotland Yard, and I got it back today. Seems I didn't leave it in the pub, but actually fell asleep in a flowerbed and left it there when moving to a more comfortable flowerbed. I think my plan to get Nachimir drunk backfired...

My schedule today: Greenberg at the Cineworld Haymarket, 12:30 Brothers Bloom at PCC 15:40 Bad Lieutenant New Orleans at PCC 1830 Anyone fancy any of that? (You will have to hate sun and football.)
-
Or is that just your cover for having snuck in and stolen my bag, MAREK?
-
Did anyone pick up my black Nike rucksack? I thought I left it in the pub, but they don't have it...

I am here with Scrobbs and Nachimir and one of the Eufloria guys!

It is upstairs! I have just arrived but can't see anyone I know. Kieron Gillen's here, I met him once...
