  1. Aliens screening 28/02 London

I'd be more comforted if it weren't for your disclaimer...
  2. Aliens screening 28/02 London

Unlikely because NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE ARE ATTENDING FOR IT TO BE FUN.
  3. Aliens screening 28/02 London

Yeah, that's the one. Don't know why the other one is a bit off. I'll be in town today so if anyone wants me to grab them a ticket, or if you're around for a half eightish drink, let me know. You'll all be glad to know that after today this thread will most likely DIE.
  4. Life

Kroms, I'd just like to say: I LOVE YOU TOO, TAMI!
  5. Torrent problem

You saying that made me go and experiment. I seem to be able to open other torrents now and yet still not that file and at least one other. Perhaps it's a dodgy uploader and it was just coincidence that my cache caused problems at the same time, but hundreds of people are seeding/leeching those files I can't get at... I get the feeling I haven't seen the end of this problem, but I'll leave it for now unless anyone thinks they know exactly what has happened... Thanks for the help, everyone!
  6. Torrent problem

No, actually I tried opening it from Windows Explorer. But I just tried what you said, and strangely the client can't see it when I browse to the correct folder. It can see all the other ones, but not that one. (The ones it can see are files I had trouble with previously until the cache clearing solved them.) EDIT: does this suggest that the browser is saving them incorrectly? It still says it's a torrent file in Windows Explorer...
  7. Torrent problem

When I open the help file, the window is entitled "µTorrent User Manual", so I guess it's µTorrent/uTorrent...
  8. Aliens screening 28/02 London

    Awesome! Blue Posts, 2030?
  9. Aliens screening 28/02 London

Ok, so Thunderpeel is on for a drink after (about half eight, Leicester Square/Soho area). Anyone else up for film/drinks/both?
  10. Life

    That doesn't answer my question.
  11. Life

Is that el muerte in the top right? Nice work!
  12. Telltale to make Walking Dead and Fables games?

The Walking Dead comics weren't amazing. They didn't really do anything different with the zombies, and had a load of cliched characters and siege dynamics. They were okay, though, and I think they're a really good idea for making into a tv show or game series - it gives the opportunity to flesh out the characters a lot more. I can imagine a Telltale version being brilliant, although I think it will have to be a different kind of game to, say, Sam And Max or Bone.
  13. Movies of the genre "adventure"

I really enjoyed the National Treasures. The writers are obviously fans of India Jones And The Last Crusade, and there's a bit of Da Vinci Code but better in there as well.
  14. Telltale to make Walking Dead and Fables games?

Wow, nice one Jake! Are we allowed to ask questions? Like: what's the action to adventure ratio going to be? how much gore will you be able to put on-screen?
  15. Aliens screening 28/02 London

Alien is on Film 4 tonight, so you can all prep!
  16. Aliens screening 28/02 London

Everyone up for this, then? Wooooo! Get tickets online, via phone or at the door (may sell out by the night)!
  17. Open Outcast

    ...
  18. Sesame Street does try to appeal to adults as well, though, so that parents will be more willing to watch it with their kids (hence appearances from Katy Perry, REM etc). The writing and performances are sharp enough that you can find something to enjoy even though it is aimed strictly at pre-schoolers. Hopefully DF will channel that.
  19. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

Could be because you subconsciously recognised him as the estate agent from Spaced?
  20. Movie/TV recommendations

Just saw Labyrinth on the big screen on an old celluloid print. It was pretty scratched up, but it was still gorgeous. Great to fully appreciate all the production design and little background details. Really really love that film. Synth, I forgot to ask way back when: is the Froud commentary worth listening to? I get the feeling it'd be very design-specific (as he's doing the only commentary I'd hope for him to cover other aspects and throw in some anecdotes) with loooong silences...
  21. Rowlf and Fozzie are from The Muppet Show, not Sesame Street (although they may have crossed over from time to time as it's all Jim Henson). The cartoon you're thinking of is probably Muppet Babies. Sesame Street is Cookie Monster and Elmo and Big Bird and Bert & Ernie and Oscar The Grouch and Count Von Count and that.
  22. Christopher V. Flett - time to grow up

Fuck you all, I'm dropping the Kray-bomb. Crocodile.
  23. Movie/TV recommendations

Saw True Grit, very good in every way except for a bit of a fizzle-out ending. Similar to No Country... Lots of great acting and dialogue.
  24. Christopher V. Flett - time to grow up

Yep, that's my policy too. I'm not getting upset, it's not that annoying and I only mentioned it, for one clause in one post in one thread because Vimes did, in what I'd argue was not as strong a stance as his. I also tried to kill the off-topic debate and get back to CVF. And now I'll take my own advice and stop replying to a debate that has starting going in circles. Please feel free to have the final word!
  25. Christopher V. Flett - time to grow up

Hey, I'm calm, and I'm saying that this thread is fine and I don't mind it. Yeah, almost everyone here is sensible enough not to hijack threads for too long; I'm just saying it's annoying when a few do. I did the 'mod complaint' thing twice (EDIT: ages ago), and that was purely a joke, which I'm pretty sure David got. My post here wasn't directed at mods, if you're including that. I like that there's not much need for mod activity on these forums, and the occasional irritation is worth that. For anyone who missed it, my "banned" comment was a response to a completely different post which said something along the lines of "moving to become a mod?" which has now been removed without trace and replaced with the post quoted above. I thought we were joking around, but obviously not. Tanu, I NEVER hold my farts in in front of my girlfriend. As for Christopher V Flett, I think it's telling that his target demographic is women. His gimmick is "Hey, I'm one of those 'alpha male' douchebags you hate, let me tell you how we work so you can beat us'." The women who swallow this shit are just as idiotic as the men who follow "The Game" or whatever.
