WINNING (But to clarify, I really meant "If not, though," instead of "Otherwise".)
-
I read Orvidos' question as meaning current tv shows. Otherwise you could have Quatermass, stuff like that.

Am I missing something? Has tag attribution been activated without me being able to see it? The last three posts seem to suggest there's been resolution.

It's just an example in a talk, he hasn't done a press release saying this is now what Valve is doing.

Now you can play the FPS!

I worked on a show a few years back where we got a self-confidence guru in, and this was one of the exercises - mind over body and all that - along with punching through wood and stuff.

Mine were the "thunder doesn't get it" and "when will thunder get it?" tags. Hee hee!
-
Hey! Did some of the tags on this thread get deleted? Mine were hilarious!

What do we think of New Games Journalism?

Even if they did, you got your money's worth from the awesome video, right?

I vote for... accountability. But if that isn't available, my second vote is for keeping them and everyone trying to keep the language/spirit friendly - less "bitch"s and "retard"s - because I do always check them and often find them very funny. (And a quick clarification that if this is the positive thread mentioned earlier, I started it because of someone saying we were getting into a rut of slagging things off, not because of tags.)

It'd be quite cool to take Far Cry 2's mechanics and apply them to a jungle/mercs and monsters setting, I reckon. Or just do something completely different again, so each entry is a different style. Like the Mission Impossible films!

And you can't do math?

[plus others] Really? From the trailer it looked like a one-joke movie. Huh. I love Requiem For A Dream, I've watched it many times. There aren't many films I found too painful to watch again, but a few that I don't want to watch again in case the effect they had on me is softened with further viewings: Ju-On and The Devil's Rejects are two that spring to mind.

Yeah, y'know, after playing Portal I was tempted to replay through Half Life 2 but decided I couldn't be bothered. But this topic makes me want to. Orvidos slagged the pistol earlier, but I loved it purely because of the first gunfight - the long build-up to it with the non-armed then crowbar-only start to the game, and then that fantastic shootout in the canals with the combine, the crack of your pistol echoing off the concrete walls as you break cover to sharpshoot the soldiers and watch them tumble in the distance to the sound of their forlorn radio bleeps. Can't wait to do that again!

I thought Toy Story 3 was dreadful (and 2 wasn't that good either). Out-of-place melodrama and disturbing dynamics amongst tired genre pastiches and sparse jokes. On a positive note, Psychoville is back for a second series and just as amazing.

As any RPS reader will know, indiegames.com is becoming the go-to place for indie news.

It was neater when you said it the first time. Still neat this time, though. So, I'm halfway through. The puzzles, characters, settings are great. The conversation dialogues are definitely too long - every choice leads to a back and forth between Flux, Drew and the other character for about two minutes. Thankfully the timed puzzles seem to have been slowed right down. Unfortunately, there's no cheat to auto-solve that damned (optional) sliding tile puzzle. All in all: neat.

As I understand it, people have always called Trek fanatics 'Trekkies', but some of them refuse to use it themselves as they think it's a derogatory term. So they call themselves Trekkers, because that's sooo much cooler and will make everyone think they're NOT nerds. I insist on calling them Trekkies.

I've run out of distractions and procrastinations. Anyone know any more sites like these (all of which I recommend)? avclub.com ifyoulikeitsomuchwhydontyougolivethere.com (went a bit shit when new writers came in) cracked.com lamebook.com passiveaggressivenotes.com suicidegirls.com/interviews

Ban request.

Well sure, Enterprise is the worst. But I thought Voyager was a close second. Oh, and it's "Trekkies".
