Yeah Miffy, ya retard.
-
You should be able to edit even if you've already made two tags, to let you remove or edit your own. Weird. The retard tag is in the Double Fine mech game thread, I think.

I'm not sure what my policy is on someone anonymously calling themselves a retard...

I think offering that service is a good idea. What are they gonna do, fire you? You might be able to really turn the game (whatever it is) around... EDIT: love that Imaginary Film video on your blog, btw. Parklife was one of the first singles I ever bought, so I'm very fond of that song. Keep going!

Remember this? I picked that one because my awesome (yet poorly realised - it's supposed to be a minimalist portrait of Duke with the symbol as his shades) concept was overlooked. We were one of a fair few forums homaging these .

Well, it's upwards of £70 a (possibly long) day, or more if you do certain stuff (say a line, get your hair cut, take your top off etc). Some people make a living doing it. Not that I'm recommending you do that, but I wouldn't call it a pittance for sitting around looking at famous people do cool things and getting fed and watered all day.

We have a huge thread on Size Five about how crap Kotaku, and in particular Crecente, is, with occasional cameos from Destructoid.

Join an extras agency and get paid for being an extra in big exciting things?

Oh well, she was only trying to help.

My girlfriend is flabbergasted at your experience so far, elmuerte. Here's a list of things to do in Berlin that she came up with off the top of her head. Hope it helps! Good to walk from Potsdamer Platz to the Reichstag so you can take in a couple of these sights on the way. > Potsdamer Platz (Sony Centre etc.) > Memorial for the murdered Jews > Brandenburg Gate > Reichstag > > Tiergarten - nice to sit in if you have good weather (watch out for the nudist areas!). > > Kreuzberg - trendy area in former East - famous for its brunches! > Prenzlauerberg - another trendy area in former East, probably a bit more touristy than Kreuzberg but still very cool - probably a good bet for bars and restaurants. > > East Side Gallery - longest remaining stretch of the Berlin Wall (think it was re-painted for the 20th anniversary). > Oberbaumbrücke - bridge that links Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain, also giant aluminium sculpture in the river! > > Take a boat trip on the River Spree if the weather is good (a good way to see quite a lot of the landmarks) > > Alexanderplatz TV tower and its revolving restaurant. > > Museuminsel (Museum Island, loads of museums as you might have worked out from the name but I haven't been into most of them)! Monbijou Park nearby - a nice place to sit in the sun. > There's also "Strandbar Mitte" closeby - good to sit in a deckchair with a beer and chill out. > > Lots of Strandbars (beach bars) around in the summer - you might stumble upon a few of them! > > Neues Museum - recently restored, haven't seen it myself yet but really want to! > > Hackescher Markt - touristy but nice area, bars and restaurants though a bit on the pricey side. > Hackescher Höfe - lovely restored courtyards - well worth a look. > > Oranienburger Straße - lots of bars and restaurants - also, Kunsthaus Tacheles - artists' squats, lots of grafitti. New Synagogue. > > Straße des 17 Juni - Siegessäule. > > Jewish museum > > Gendarmenmarkt - amazing architecture. > > Walk along Unter den Linden. > > Ku'damm - not all that interesting, but if you want to experience 'West Berlin', big shopping street. But the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche is worth a look. > > Checkpoint Charlie (museum about crossing the wall)- not my fave but quite good if you haven't been to Berlin before. > > Ok, that's all I can think of for now! But the other things you should do are: eat a Currywurst from a street vendor, try Berliner Weisse mit schuss (beer with a green or red shot). Also, for breakfasts go to the bakeries and ask for "Frühstück", most places do it!

Has anyone else had a problem turning off/hiding the achievements in HL2/Portal? No matter how many times I tick the 'hide achievements' box, they keep popping up to piss all over the cinematic moments. I actually emailed Gabe about it but the fucker hasn't got back to me. Maybe I should shout louder.

Activision's Strategy to Make Every One of its Franchises More Fantastical
Ben X replied to pabosher's topic in Video Gaming
I'm surprised by this thread, I would have thought the general Idle Thumbs feeling would be "we've got enough games trying to be ultra-realistic, let's have some more silly/fanstastic/abstract ones". Or do people feel that the whole industry is swinging the other way now, and we'll soon be running out of realistic games (or that all the realistic games will have this Michael Bay/fantasy twist to them)? Perhaps the growing indie scene is having an influence... -
The line must be drawn HERE! This far, no further! Classic Trek.

Hey, has anyone here seen Eastbound & Down? Looks like it's probably quite bad...

Oh man, that is brilliant.

I'm sure I heard this scam/service ages ago as part of a stand-up routine or on a sitcom or something.

Well, Dan's new game won't be an adventure but will be awesome. Don't know if I'll be involved (if I am, it'll probably be minor unpaid design work or level design). I'd also love to do another Dan and Ben adventure game, but it'd have to be something really different and special for us to bother.

I share this belief. Maybe we should start a club?
