I watched MI4, and really enjoyed the first half (up to the ) but then it just really lost momentum for me, and like someone said above just repeats itself a few more times. Still very efficient but by then I was acclimatised. Also watched Ides Of March, and for me that was more of a different role for Gosling than (iirc) Drive and Lars And The Real Girl. Still quite restrained but not as soft. The film was well-executed but felt about as substantial as an episode of The West Wing. It didn't really have an ending either, it felt like a very good first and second act of a film. Finally, Girl With Dragon Tattoo was about as good an effort as they could have made with such dreadful source material. They should have cut the stuff though. I know it's setting stuff up for the next film, but you shouldn't fuck up your first film's structure in service of the second.

The sci-fi conceit is almost completely background metaphor, though - you could almost take it out completely and not affect the film, which felt a little wasteful. Holmes 2 - much better than the first one. Lots more of the stuff that makes Holmes good - ie him actually being a detective - plus Moriarty is done really well. It still has a lot of the same problems, though - the 'bickering couple' dynamic and Holmes' clownish/bitchy persona, plus Ritchie's 'throw every trick in the book at it' directing style which scuppers some nicely designed action scenes. Still not quite as good as Shanghai Knights, but closer! Hugo 3D - It's quite slow (and is less of a fantastic adventure than the trailers might lead you to believe), but the 3D is used perfectly and overall it's a wonderful ode to early cinema. 50/50 - funny and touching. Not hilarious or heartwrenching, but definitely recommended. Gordon-Levitt is brilliant as always. A Very Harold & Kumar Xmas - surprisingly brilliant. The first one was great though uneven and the second one was okay. This one amps everything up, uses the 3D gimmick perfectly, and stays funny, inventive and energetic all the way through. Would watch a fourth.

Try the Half-Life 2 demo, see how that does. I was surprised to find that and Portal run well on low-to-medium settings on my Dell laptop that I got for around £300 two years ago.

Yeah, Dork #7 and The Bummer Trilogy were pretty powerful. Dyer worked on Space Ghost with Dorkin, and they both also worked a little on the Paul Dini Superman cartoon., I think. She also used to do Action Girl Comics, not sure if that's happening any more. I picked up one or two and they were pretty bad.

It's well done technically, but the humour is pretty offensive and childish. Just insulting gays, the Irish, fat people and ugly people. And because they don't have an easy target on Kelly they just mention her tits. I was getting flashbacks to Star Stories (shudder).

Reads like an indulgently long cut of the scene in The Wire where McNulty gets chewed out for his sloppy report grammar.

Apparently the only thing missing is a 6-page crossover strip with the Hectic Planet characters that Dorkin might have been able to get the rights and originals for, but decided not to because it was a pretty bad strip that recycled lots of gags and would have stuck out like a sore thumb. He talks about it on that audio interview he linked to recently.

There's nothing to pursue, Speedy. As I told you about 15 pages ago, she doesn't fancy you and is coming up with bullshit excuses. If you're still having to ask yourself whether it's worth pursuing her, then it's not. You'd be doing it just to have someone, and you'll break up with her soon after once you realise that. If you are genuinely interested in her, though, then you'll already be in an infinitely better starting position that with Girl A. Oubliette (or anyone else), any chance you could expand on this for me? I can't figure out what it is I'm supposed to download and how, and what to do with it! The only package I found was a .zip file. Do I need an unzipping app to extract that within Android? Surely there's an easier way to get the right version onto my phone! My firmware is 2.1 -update 1 and I'm on a G2 phone, if that helps... EDIT: Never mind, I just noticed that ScummVM has shown up in my Market since last time, so I should be able to get it going no problem. Woo! I'll leave this up in case anyone else had the same issue previously.
