I really enjoyed Marvel Avengers Assemble, it's chock-full of great moments and well-defined characters, and Whedon's dialogue doesn't go too 'Buffy'. However, I did feel like the plot was rather messy and ill-defined, Whedon's fight scenes are well-choreographed but confusingly directed (see also the bar brawl in Serenity) and Loki never really gets off the ground as a credible threat. He's a poor man's Zod. One thing that I realised afterwards was that

Maybe and didn't mention it, then? Or does that bother you in general?

Goddammit, why am I always the last to know about these things? Thanks brkl! Extra motivation (possibly) here: http://www.sizefivegames.com/2012/04/25/size-five-fund-drive/

Ask him when he's going to make AGS work on iOS, XBox etc, so he can sell his AGS games on there (and so can I). -

Whoops, thanks! I wouldn't have made this thread if I'd realised. I got used to them being public and they didn't put the "keep it private" bit in the blurb so I forgot. Mods please delete thread if preferable.

WAR? Sweet 'cast, but probably best not to talk to any Dark Knight crew about the devastating loss of a sweet IMAX camera during a car stunt: http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2008/nov/03/dark-knigh-stuntman

Fair enough on this one, I guess.

Awesome, good work Thumbs UK. The Paedo Special is the Chris Morris zenith for me, but I love Brass Eye, lots of The Day Today and some Jam (or Jaaaaam, I'm not sure which it was I experienced). His cameo in I'm Alan Partridge is also fantastic.

Yeah, I bet you point and laugh at Harry Potter readers on planes. I've finished Forever War and loved it. I have the Forever omnibus and am currently halfway through Forever Peace which I'm enjoying almost as much. Troopers-wise, I guess my worry is that I would be unable to appreciate the story and literary techniques while recognising and analysing the strong political agenda. Maybe not, or maybe the latter would be interesting enough. I'm certainly willing to give it a shot.

It's very pleasing to see a non-Brit linking Brass Eye. How well known is it overseas? PS Boooooobs.

I thought we got some interesting discussion out of it.

*for*? Yeah, it reminded me of the Starship Troopers movie with the . I'd like to read ST, but I hear it's sincerely fascistic or war-fetishist (which I guess is what you mean by the alt view) where Verhoeven satirised those things, and I'm not sure how I'd easy a read I'd find that.

But... but... you just compared it to Borderlands!

I'm not sure I want to know what the "Double-Dick" Kickstarter rewards are, especially at the higher levels...

Simon Pegg hasn't written anything on his own yet. Paul was with Nick Frost and Run Fatboy Run was an script-Anglicisation/polish. Can't think of any other great scriptwriters off the top of my head. This isn't a bad article, although it includes William Goldman, the snooty prick: http://uk.askmen.com/top_10/entertainment/133_top_10_list.html

Is it fun because it's only half-right?

What Joel Stein fails to realise is that people might be reading non-challenging books on planes because they're stressed out and want to relax. Likewise, I read book that can be enjoyed in small chunks when travelling to and from work.

Thunder and I very much enjoyed The Cabin In The Woods. I recommend you try to learn as little about it as possible and go watch it.

I hope you'll both do the right thing and request that your points be withdrawn.
