It would have been pretty cool to have another style of FPS and setting again from the first two, so it becomes a Mission Impossible type franchise (or what John Carpenter intended to do with the Halloween franchise before Michael Myers got too popular).

Very clever, except for one small detail: I would NEVER sing Christmas carols! Bah humbug.
-
Ooh, wait! Did you check the back? Maybe there's a PS telling you to take back one kadam for the Hebrew god whose ark this is!
-
I know, that Mington guy keeps stealing my ideas.
-
I'm going to forgive you for stealing my theory, because you were drunk, Mington. (I still can't forgive a Christmas avatar in November, though.)
-
Yeah, I noticed that! Mine will go up around the 23rd of December for approximately three days.

You should make a website or something to try and find the answer. It might be the next big internet sensation and get made into a Jim Carrey film!

Commenting isn't really a motivator for me, but it is nice to have the ability for that one time in a blue moon that I want to pick up on a point or fact in the post/article. It's more of a motivator if I know there's a strong possibility of the author replying most of the time. Also, I fully support a site's right to delete mean/stupid/pointless comments. Not everywhere has to be Reddit.

Agreed on the cheese but not the ham

Oh yeah, that too.

I like these, they remind me of those Double Fine Comics by Raz.

You asked why you should keep watching, and I honestly don't think there's much point if you thought the first 42 minutes were boring. But I like it because it's atmospheric, taut, thrilling, scary, darkly humourous, stylish, with sharp dialogue, gritty well-directed action, great turns from Biehn and Hamilton and a load of brilliant supporting actors (including the voice of LeChuck as the asshole criminal-psychologist), with an amazing score and some great special/visual effects including the amazing Stan Winston work.

It's the one where you can see the DoP in the back of all the shots.

I was talking about how hipsters talk about how Death Cab sold out way before you guys were talking about it.

I'd say T1 is the tighter film in every way, but I agree with you on everything else re. T2! Orv, T1 isn't the typical Arnie dumb-action-silly-one-liners-action-flick. It's almost better to think of Arnie as a living prop that Cameron manipulates marvellously in his smart, sharp little sci-fi thriller. Twig, if you got 42 minutes into The Terminator and found it boring and not worth watching, there's not really anything we're going to be able say to convince you otherwise.

How about because some movies take a while to build and you should give it more than ten minutes before dismissing them?

I've been planning to do this exact thing for ages, if only to remind myself what my opinion is of films I've seen because these days I tend to forget after about a week, but I never got round to it. Good luck, Rodi, maybe you'll spur me on to do my own after all...

Man, I understand that some people think T2 is an excellent film, but to think T1 is inferior, and even a slog, boggles my mind.

It sounds to me like there are a lot of preconceptions and fantasies on her side that she probably needs some time to reconcile with the actual reality of getting to meet you. The fact that her family is super-keen to meet you when you two barely know each other IRL suggests that she's put an unhealthy amount of emotional investment into this even before you guys met. I think it's reassuring that she's now taking some time to reassess the situation and take a breather, as it shows she has some self-control and common sense. My advice is to leave her alone completely until she reopens lines of communication. It just feels like this is a big crazy see-saw of hot and cold, and it would probably be a good idea to take a bit of time for you both to reach room temperature before doing anything else. Also, it ensures you're not going into needy/stalkery territory. That said, if after a month you don't hear anything then you could get back in touch with her to see what's going on. There's also the possibility that she just doesn't fancy you as much irl as she did online and is finding it difficult to let you down gently. In which case you'll probably get more honest answers if you've shown that you're mature enough to give her space and time and then come back later with the friendly, neutral question of where things stand.

Yeah, I_smell, don't worry about it. Just because you're getting better at your craft doesn't mean NTTE is worthless and you shouldn't give people the chance to get it on Steam. If you feel that bad about it, just think of as a way of helping your brand awareness and put it at a crazy-low pricepoint (but be aware that though this will cause some people to react more favourably to your game, some will assume it's crap without playing it because of the low price and ignore it, and some will buy it and enjoy it exactly the same as if they'd paid a dollar more and will tell you you should have priced it higher).

Question about a film discussed in "The Idle Thumbs Podcast"
Ben X replied to Koholos's topic in Idle Banter
Also, you should watch Cronos. -
Ha ha, I just crossed the threads over from the other side!
