  3. How do I contribute to this forum?

    OH GOD THE CLUTTER.
  4. The Hobbit...

Brkl, I defended you after the vicious attacks and you didn't even say thanks Sorted this. Turns out they didn't even have an email address for me, so whatever I put there would have been wrong, and they wanted my current address which is specifically not what they asked for. But that's all over now, and I'm booked to see it at the same showing as Thunderpeel! (Hope he lets me sit near to him.)
  5. The Hobbit...

Trying to book this with my Unlimited Cineworld card, but I need to tie my card to my online account by entering some details from when I first applied for the Unlimited account. Which may be back in 2004 when they were UGC, or it may be a later reopening of my account, I'm not sure. Either way, it tells me that it cannot confirm my details but not which part is incorrect. Genius.
  6. The Hobbit...

Really?! Haven't seen that mentioned anywhere!

Sadly, the BFI IMAX at Waterloo isn't getting HFR. It's the only cinema in London getting a 1570 IMAX print, but only in 24fps 3D. Apparently Odeon Leicester Square and Marble Arch will be getting 48fps, which I'll be trying to see. I'm really interested to see how it looks, even if the picture quality may not be as good as the IMAX. Also, it feels like people are getting attacked simply for having opinions in this thread, so careful now. Personally, I love Fellowship but find that Two Towers and Return Of The King do stumble over the mulitple plot threads and give in to broad comedy moments far too often. I liked the ending of RotK and the shield-surfing, though. I also recommend people watch Bad Taste, Brain Dead (aka Dead Alive), Heavenly Creatures and The Frighteners. I haven't seen Feebles or Forgotten Silver yet.

Oh awesome, thanks, I was wondering about this. Also my free Assassin's Creed 3 download automatically used a temp folder on my C drive to extract, then ran out of room or something, so I've probably got a few gigs of useless AC3 files clogging it up at the moment.
  9. Games giveaway

Yeah, I was just wondering if people were using it in a different sense specifically related to Steam (or similar) codes.
  10. Games giveaway

I'm on Win7, but yeah everything does seem to happen a lot faster! The problem I'm having is that my SSD drive is pretty small and really only for Windows, with all my games on a separate hard drive, but a lot of games automatically stick stuff in Windows temp folders and the like without asking. I'm pretty much going to have to buy a controller just for Psychonauts - specifically XBox360 is a good idea, is it? Back on-topic (ish), are these lurkers people are talking about IdleForum members, or people who lurk on the internet scanning for Steam codes?

Well, I don't want to be greedy! It was me who took the Introversion pack (I did PM Twig!), so I don't want to take everything!
  14. Games giveaway

I'll take Saints Row 3 if no one else here wants it. I'll wait and see if anyone claims it by the end of the day... Thanks Twig!

I'll take Metro 2033 if it's still going. Ethical disclaimer:I just donated a load of money to Movember charities and spent £800+ on a new gaming PC plus games, so I DESERVE this. (edit: I also donated to wikipedia recently!)
  17. Feminism

Ugh, I know, the Kickstarter finale livestream was like that too.
  18. Books, books, books...

Yeah, a very enjoyable read, that. I seem to remember it getting a bit action movie towards the end, though. At least it's better than what Stephen Fry did in one of his novels (Making History, I think) which was essentially "sometimes in life when exciting things happen it feels like you're in a movie" followed by the final action scene actually written in screenplay format.
  19. It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like CHRISTMAS

Yep, and strangely it never bothered me.

Man, some pretty horrible stuff there. It's easy to forget how nasty the industry and culture can be, especially if you hang out with the right people, until someone compiles a list of this kind of thing, or XBox IM scumbags (I think someone linked to that site here previously). I know a woman in the industry who covers her face or jumps out of the way whenever a photo is being taken, not because she's insecure or anything but whenever a single photo of her gets out on the internet, she suddenly gets a barrage of creepy/nasty attention from strangers. And it's nothing to do with how she looks, just the fact that she's female instantly opens her up to this shit.
  21. Breaking Bad

Yeah, don't worry TP, a lot of the rough edges get fleshed out (to mix metaphors) more and more as the show goes on. We haven't yet talked about the most important aspect of Breaking Bad (Season 3 or 4 spoiler, I think):
  22. VALVe money grab #134: Autumn Sale

Gah, bought Rage, Psychonauts, and the Crysis pack in anticipation of my new gaming PC. Resisting any further bargains!
  23. Breaking Bad

Finally caught up with the first half of season five. Amazing show. What was it that you knew was going to happen?
  24. The idle playlist

I'm betting it's that cue from late on in 28 Days Later. Brilliant but overused by scumbag ad "creatives". Don't know if it's available on Grooveshark, but I would like to request "Legacy" by Gone Jackals. Roswell: a very strange choice of Blur song!
