Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - latest screenshots

I think we can expect all the different weather-scenarios of Morrowind and more. Clothing: In Morrowind many citizens wore dirty, colourless rags. That's how you knew they were poor. The more expensive ('exquisite') clothing was more colourful, but never gaudy. It was more a way to distinguish between the various classes of the game. -
Settle down, Tanu, the Nintendo On was obviously a hoax to begin with. The ill-designed Mario at the end should have given you all the hints you needed.

Maybe it's a matter of taste, but also the monsters look really bland, in both Morrowind and the screenshots of Oblivion. As for the armour; overdesigning is one thing, but exaggerating a little goes a long way towards making it seem real. Realer than digitally trying to recreate the real world, what with the uncanny valley and all. Still, could just be a taste thing. I just don't praticularly like the way the Elder Scrolls world looks. But I like how it feels -
I don't think this is something to be proud of, Jimmy

This is an easy one: Link doesn't even TALK himself. He's the quintessential fill-in hero, meant to appease all cultures and people.

You did NOT just insult the great Beedle?!

I'd like the green and silver one, in a pair.

Or they could use something similar to Sims-speak, where you could read a sentence and hear appropriate gibberish mumbling.

Hey, Elder Scrolls have always been weakest in their cinematic visualisation. Wait till the gameplay comes up and destroys everything like a rampaging gorilla. -

Patrick Steward is alsways a good choice for the king. And he's complementing his long history of playing pc-rpg kings (in Lands of Lore he was the voice of King Richard). I still have to say that Oblivion looks absolutely dismal in terms of design. I don't care how much bloom they fling at their world, I wish they first just got them some good designers. Honestly. Of course it's becoming tradition for the Elder Scroll series; token bad visual design. Like some sort of art movement. But that's why I just don't care. Certainly with Morrowind it was still blocky enough to squint your eyes and trick yourself that they actually did have a designy thing going on. Now that the graphics are so much rounder you actually see how awful it really is. Ah well, fortunately the games themselves KICK ASS And then I don't care HOW it looks. Not entirely true but I'd rather have it this way than the other way around. -
Hey don't go dissin' werewolf Link

It looks a lot more interesting qua gameplay now. That little creepy gnome is great! The nightly scenes look super with their washed out colour. All this makes me pine so much for a narratively deep and haunting tale. That would be so great, to have world-class, deep writing in the world of Zelda. I already know I'm going to be disappointed by again meeting only uni-sentenced NPC's in a world where character interaction is a joke

This console looks great! I'm a bit disappointed that in this generation, everything has to look like it came out of the future. Funny that Nintendo is making the only black console. And it looks like something that came directly from an Imperial Stardestroyer where it used to skitter over the floor like a mouse. Whereas other consoles look like toasters or topsyturvy printers. Granted, I like the Xbox360, but the PS3 looks ridiculous. The Revolution however; I never knew such simple, hard-edged square design could make me fuzzy like that.

I wasn't sure until I saw the "Pyro" nickname. Now there's no mistaking.

Congratulations on another year well spent in our company!

What? Signed copies of Psychonauts? HOW MUCH WILL THEY COST ME?!

I've played it on my own (not the multiplayer yet because my clone was in the bathroom). It's a very simple game, bumping the other turtles. Is this somehow tied in with your project on researching animation to tell people stuff ingame? What with the different kinds of smoke and no other way to see the damage on your turtle?

No I haven't. I'm returning to the store tomorrow. I can't imagine this gross disturbance being the 'small interlacing problems' of which IGN spoke in their review of the DVD's.

I just have some problems with the image. It appears blown up on my tv so there's incredible pixelation going on and I'm not seeing the whole picture. I can't for the life of me get why it's happening, I've never had it before and my dvd-player is region-free. I need Obi-wan Kenobi to help me.

Haha, who's idiotic enough to try that stuff?

You know, that doesn't sound so weird actually. If Japan were the size of America and had its power, I think I'd be a lot more afraid of it than I am of America now. Japan's a pretty creepy land.

That fad is soon to be replaced by cosmetic food. Food that'll make you look better. Already hip in Hong Kong.
