Ahh, the whole game is just a testament to how important quality writing is to a game

Could someone tell me what specifically is different between the European and American versions of Castlevania DS? I've heard the US version was better, which is postponing my purchasing the EUR version.

I wasn't sealed, but the clerk said it wasn't second hand. Of course, I wouldn't rely on that information. I think my own theaory is the most plasubile. That doesn't explain the Japanese writing with the savegame though.

Well, I just got Castlevania DS. But when I began to play it, there was already a savegame on there with 30% and 3 hours played! I went back to the store but it wasn't second hand. The man behind the counter said it maybe was a test-version or something. But I think some dude from the shop may just have taken the thing home. Although the savegame did have Japanese scribbles drawn on it...

I think we're talking about the Lungfishoplois level. That whole run of jokes on the orphanage that Goggelor is apparently destined to destroy is just so good.

I can't say, I don't have the game yet I did collect 100% in Aria of Sorrow though, so I think I might do the same here. There were some viciously difficult souls in that game too. Especially that flying fish thing... man, sheer impossibility. That said, I never understood why there was a link-feature in the game? You could quite practically get everything yourself, and it wasn't like Pokémon where you had different versions. I think I would have liked that though, having even more collectability and diversity to the game like that, but ultimately the gameworld wouldn't have been interestingly large enough to support that, and the game itself would not have been as popular as Pokémon to justify insane collectability.

What do you mean, 'somehow'? It was practically the same arena =) That said, the increasinlgy twisted Asylum was extraordinary as well, but not really a 'mind'. The campsite itself didn't really tickle anything. I didn't spend a lot of time there, only collected half of the scavengrer hunt items... I don't know. It didn't have a lot going for it for me. I was way too excited about all the weird other levels. I should say one thing though, about Lungfishopolis. I thought it was a good level with an amusing concept, but ultimately I thought its execution was a bit too one-sided. Not that they could've done a whole lot more with it, but it just lacks in depth compared to the arresting conceptual splendor of the other latter-half brains.

Absolutely agreed upon. Black Velvetopia is a design TRIUMPH, and strings together with the Milkman Conspiracy and Waterloo to form the most awesome levels of the game.

I don't think it's cheaper looking, the transparant plastic. Myself, I think it looks far more sophisticated and future-proof than dull black.
