  1. There is Mr. T news

    Pathetic... or awesome?
  2. New Spore footage + interview

Alien contact and spacebattles while building a planet? That reminds me of The Logic Factory's Ascendancy. Great game, listened to the soundtrack today, which I ripped out of the game personally.
  3. There is Mr. T news

That'll be an instant download. When's the torrent coming out?
  4. 15 Years Later...

OKAY, I'm not going to read the review, but I did just preorder it at DVDBoxoffice. In three weeks or so, I'll be playing this baby here in the Netherlands.
  5. Free Comic Book Day! YAY!

Oh god I simply MUST have that Scott Pilgrim comic book that they're giving away! Scott Pilgrim is just about the most awesome thing in comics I read in recent years. But alas, I'm in some backwater province of the Netherlands, it's saturday and the nearest comic shops are hours away. IF they have the free comics at all. I guess no Scott Pilgrim for me
  6. Gamelife Episode 3: somehow it still lives

We should make an Idle Thumbs gameshow. One episode and that's all there will be. With reports from all over the world.
  7. Online Comics Day 2006

Jesus, Tanu, that's one hell of a list! And I'm in it! On the other hand, with a list that long it would have been MORE special to not be in it
  8. Rayman Raving Rabbids

I loved the screenshot I saw. I was a bit disappointed in what little I played of Hoodlum Havoc, but this seems like it's going to be zany and over the top. And a launch title at that! Ancel sure cooks them up for us! Wii games will most likely be cheaper than the rest. There has been talk of only 40 Euros per game, which would be around the same pricetag of DS games. Nintendo are breaking the mold with this one.
  9. Runaway

What, Ben, you really hate it this much? I never played it because at the time my computer wouldn't run the demo, but it always seemed to me as quite atmospheric. I'd actually like to try it out one day. Maybe it hits the right bells and whistles in my noggin', you know. If you're that desperate, I could give you my address and rid you of it.
  10. Colbert a-bom-zal-droppen-ton (Bush am cry)

Well, they do show both sides of the coin, you know.
  11. Hot damn!

It's like they DESIGNED our thoughts to be so!
  12. Hot damn!

Awesome video! I love it! But they must have a lot of free time on their hands if they can make an intricate commercial for their yo-yo. Just kidding. I love the update. I don't know if I'll get a yo-yo though. The dilemma is that I'd like a ball-bearing yo-yo, but with the design of 2HB on it.
  13. Happy 2nd Birthday, ThumbBot!

Yeah, where's the new motherfucking mecha-goose story? It's its second birthday for crying out loud! We need another huge wallpaper featuring miniature people riding it's goosy crown while it tramples a city!
  14. Colbert a-bom-zal-droppen-ton (Bush am cry)

Quite amusing. I doubt those stubbornheaded neo-conservatist got to thinking though. I like how he balanced it so the mob didn't get angry whilst still giving strong jabs in the face.
  15. favorite tv shows

Someone directed me to Bol.com, the dutch version of it. BUt maybe it's an error, you know. In any case, I have to take the chance.
  16. favorite tv shows

Oh and that reminds me: just yesterday I ordered the first two seasons of Batman: TAS, for the incredulous price of only €9,95 each. It's madness I tell you!
  17. Contact for the DS

And Lost Magic is out here as well. I haven't played it but it's an action-RPG where you have to draw the magic commands on screen with the stylus. I guess the lack of RPG's was sorely exaggerated Hey and I'd rather take a handful of unique and individual RPG's than dozens of brainless Japanese my-village-burned-down-and-now-I-kill-the-evil-sorceror quests
  18. Oblivion

    Duncan, that makes good sense.
  19. Oblivion

By the way, there's one thing that happens near the end of the main quest that really irks me:
  20. Oblivion

Yesterday night I finished the main quest. Now that that's out of the way (for a while it felt like that, though I thought the 'ending' had some spectacular merits), I can start a fresh new character that isn't a goody-two-shoes and be a really rotten bastard. The game practically screams for that.
  21. *rubs Marek on his head* You're a good boy. Now go fetch the newspaper.
  22. Just how awesome is the DS Lite?

Come May, it will get even BETTER to own a DS, new or old. I tell you the truth.
  23. Captain August news

I got the order =D You're the first non-team order I received! This saturday I'll go get some envelopes and stamps and stuff, and then send it after the weekend. Thanks!
  24. Oblivion

But isn't it still defeating exactly the freedom of the game and the reason why I like to level and like RPG's? What if you're someone who has all his major skills in stuff like mercantile and speechcraft instead of fighting skills? That means you can't play the game properly! I understand why they wanted to do this, because from a game design perspective it makes sense to make the game easy in the beginning and hard at the end. But RPG's just don't work like that, and it takes ALL the fun out of playing it and becoming stronger. Of course you could manage everything and powerplay to get the most out of the system, but that's not how I like to play a game. I don't want to be bothered in this case by strategically picking stats and multipliers and stuff. I just want to play, start out as a loser and at the end of the game be a god who can blast everything away with the flick of his hand. That's what I like in RPG's. Surely it's not too arcane a concept that I don't like to play a game if playing means that I get weaker and weaker as I progress?
