I want Orlando Bloom to play Manny Calavera. And then Cate Blanch as Meche, and Benicio Deltoro as Hector.

Yeah, I wanted to read that book ever since I heard mayba a year back that it was Ron's main inspiration for Monkey Island. I even talked about it with him when he was in Amsterdam. Good to hear it's back in print, but I believe there's only an expensive edition, not just an ordinary paperback yet, right?

You're a kind man, sir.

Are you going to make me a Li'l Cranium frantically running the length of your desk clutching his massive head?
-
That was hugely disturbing! Man, I wish I had a dancing cactus in my strip as well.
-
The car was only mentioned in that clip! I had expected to also SEE it!

I know the feeling: there's this horrible crocodile called Alli in my town; she wears lipstick and she's an abomination. I hit her with the butterfly net every chance I can get and hope she takes the hint. Hopefully she'll migrate to my girlfriend's town again; whence she originally came.

Twilo: YES. That's Moe in your avatar and she's adorable. She's my number one favourite citizen in my town Babylon and I always send her letters and presents. Everyone else can take a shovel to the face and pack their bags, but Moe I would die for. On that note: I let the weeds grow. I like a little green. Flowers on the other hand, are anathema.

I know, I think I read that in this very thread. I just wanted to find some shots, and I found them in a PC Gamer screenshot on the Scumm Bar. That's all I wanted to know Blue cattle.

I never knew of this Good and Evil. I'll have to look it up somewhere, if it's still around. Good interviews by the way. It helps, you know, that Ron actually has some wise things to say about the industry.

What's wrong with Jack Black? Anyway, it's probably the fact that you keep posting low-res webcam pics And someone still has to come forward to explain why I am a wanker
-
What, wanker? What did I miss? Is this some new group that wears suits on the streets while beating old people up for laughs; that I will probably don't give a rat's ass about and still continue wearing suits occasionally? That said, I can also regularly be found in t-shirts or longsleeves if the mood carries me. Right now I'd prefer to be completely naked because of the heat, but there's a party coming up and the dress-code is 'do wear something'. I'm gonna see what I can do with the picture, Miffy. Or should I say... JACK BLACK, which is your actual true identity!
-
Thanks =) I usually wear an all-black suit now instead of this striped one, with a pristine white tie, or sometimes a silver gilet. Or sometimes I just go Bernard Black-style.
-
Kolzig, can I have your permission to put that photo in my next rant? I'm gonna pull a Tim Schafer here and put up photo's of people with their copies of the book as examples of excellence.

I'd actually love to meet up with you guys some day; but going to England on a limb is not something I easily do. I DO have a Nintendo press day in Belgium coming up though, where I get to try out the Wii and some new DS games (Yoshi's Island 2!) for a bit, but that's about as far as my adventures abroad go. And Nintendo arranges the transportation anyway, so there's a big stumbling block gone. Nevertheless, maybe in the future we can hold that tea party.

Is that Japanese at the end of that second video? It is amusing, and at the same time Sell-out.

Damn good coffee! And hot!

I watched the first season, liked it, but mostly because Kyle McLachlan is so enigmatic.
-
This is from two years ago or so. I don't take a whole lot of pictures from myself
-
Ahhh, finally I can take off my sunglasses on the streets again, because all that pestering orange is gone. Gone like magic. I tell you, yesterday evening I respectfully stayed quiet so as not to offend the downtrodden, misguided wretches who were sobbing in front of their tv's, but now I can safely say I'm glad that it's all over again.
-
I agree, that is true, but I'd like to argue that the latter style cramps the former. You see when you've got an 'adventure a day' style telling, you're actually trying to convey a feeling of a world that's very rich and full of stuff happening. But if you then turn to saying 'look, all those encounters were key story events', you're actually diminishing the world, you're making it smaller because you destroy the notion that there is anything that doesn't have a purpose. Am I making myself clear or is it still a bit vague? That's, again, not really hugely impacting the qualities of FMA, but it's a thought about those contradicting narratives.

Fullmetal Alchemist is very entertaining, but it suffers from something that most longer series are prone to: it doesn't really know where it wants to go. Like, the first quarter of the series it seems to be a youngsters-on-the-road kind of Pokémon thing where they encounter strange things every day, but then it suddenly wants to be a strict movie-style densely narrated thing as well; and told in all genres at the same time. Not that that isn't fun to watch, but I enjoy and admire it if a series has a very clear view on what it wants. Most shorter series find this more easily; take for instance Serial Experiments Lain, which is indeed very good and manages to keep a consistent tone all throughout its 13 episodes. Which isn't to say FMA isn't good; far from. It's just going all places at the same time (especially if you also consider the movie at the end of the series, which signals yet another change in style and themes). But at least it isn't one of those horrible, never-ending animeshows that are filled with fillers. Dragonball Z, Naruto... they're all good in their own respects, but I wish they would END at some point instead of dragging on and on like zombies that don't know how to finish their narratives/lives.

Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. Don't accidentally pick up the horrible 80s version, but go for Bloodlust. It's a movie, a spiritual sequel to Ninja Scroll and it's great stuff about vampires. It's English dub only and no less than two small parts are done by Dwight Schultz! Howlin' mad Murdock!

I'm watching the E3 special now, and apparently, Silver the Hedgehog has 'psychopathic' powers

I think this is pretty funny. Maybe the guy does have some sense of humour? And if it is indeed marketing, it's inspired marketing. I've never seen a Boll movie either, but I'm dying for it. I want to see how bad it is myself.
