I had my wisdom teeth aborted. There's one little bugger left but he won't escape for long.

It was updated yesterday here in the Netherlands with three games and with actually enough stock to prevent them from selling out in the first five minutes. So finally they're learning something and that makes me a happy guy. The choice was between Megaman Battle Network or somesuch for the DS, Geist for Gamecube and Polarium for the GBA. Since I already own Polarium for the DS, regrettably, and I'm not going to play any console games anymore unless they're of exceptional quality, I've gone for the mediocre Megaman game, also because I'm kind of curious what type of game it is. After all, it warranted 5 sequels so far with no end in sight. And hey, it's free.

Congrats man! May your son be strong and proud and win the coming religious wars soon to engulf the world!

Exactly what happened here? Church got swept up by wind and then... cursed in her tv-show? That's what I got out of it.

From the first episode I saw I concluded that they work in the scariest mf'ing hospital I ever saw. Also, the worst lit. Everything is in shades of green there! Jesus, I wouldn't get better there, I'd get depressed!

Are they kidding me? MOUNTAINS in a place that is litterally called The Flatlands? Way to go for research

My roommate is shamefully downloading everything from House MD with Hugh Laurie, and it appears to kick ass. It's supremely strange to see Laurie with an unflinching American accent, but as a character he is most intruiging. I think I'll dig into this show.

Fortunately, the Idle Thumbs forums are known to have great impact on the industry due to our awesome insights!

I'd like that! Give a new line-up of IP's a chance! Experiment a bit maybe. They did it earlier indeed, with PoP, XIII and BG&E. I'd like for them to have the guts for it again!

We should at least consider the possibility that they released it accidentally on purpose, though it's completely irrelevant.

The Bioshock video was awesome. I so want to play this game. It may all be somewhat evolutionary on concepts that were already kickstarted in System Shock and Deus Ex, but that's exactly what makes it so exciting. I will gladly take a game that polishes and details that precious raw ore and pushes it to new levels.

I just wore my eyepatch to school yesterday. Someone on the street called me a captain, but he was stumbling through his words to find this rare verbal treasure. Eyepatches make my eye watery. Next year I hope I'll know in advance

I eyepatch'd up yesterday evening and went through the house avasting and scurvying, but I'm making up for the tragedy by wearing some choice accessories to school today. A day late, but maybe that's exactly what it needs.

WAIT AN EFFING MINUTE?! It's TALK LIKE A PIRATE-DAY and I missed it due to no publicity at all?! HOLY SHIT! I've got two-and-a-half more hours to make this right!

I think games have similarities to fruit and that in most cases, they age. The big injustice is of course how much time it actually takes (years and years) for a game to age, versus how much time a game is given to shine (weeks).

The pace of the game and its length have nothing to do with whether it's a collection of minigames or an actual adventure or whatever. I like shorter games too, but I still like it if there's an overarching narrative and an idea of obtaining a real goal that is not 'finish all the games'. Since Rayman appears to have this however, I don't see any problems with it, even though I would have liked a nice platformer as well. Let's not bring up iffy arguments however. And in my eyes, minigames-games run a greater risk of being only occasional diversions instead of memorable games.

I'm more excited about the prospect of the full first Sam & Max season being released on Wii!

No Miffy, Duncan said UNDERrated, not overrated I don't know about rates, but I can tell you that the last time I saw the trilogy, Empire (which I had always deemed superior) was a bit disappointing, whereas Jedi (which I always saw as a bit boring) was surprisingly good.
-
With Metroid Prime my main gripe was never with the journals and lore you read, which was stellar narrative build-up, but that it didn't lead to anything at all. All that wonderful preparation and no narrative climax. Highly disappointing; and I'm not expecting anything better from Corruption.

Fantastic movie. It took a while but now I've gotten used to the idea of minigames. And I see that the style is so very succulent and there may ormay not be overarching themes and stories... yes, I'll take it please. Weren't there 40 of these mad games?

That GAME article has a VERY biased and press release feel to it. Everything's bright and shiny in their world. Might well be true, but it feels very artificial and not critical at all. Wait, just realized GAME is a store in Britland. That explains.

So the lock is in the device, but not necessarily the games? I want some more clarity on this before I start importing.

I sometimes just can't cope with my criminality.

Good news about the date! December 8th is good, even though I had hoped for a worldwide... Anyway, about the region free-ness: AWESOME, of course. Now importing from Canada is good for the Wii as well as the DS. Bold move, I love it. Gamecube games which have a region code shouldn't be a problem because it's the console telling the game that it's OK I think. But err, say I import a Wii from Japan to save approximately 100 Euros. Couldn't I avoid taxes by having it sent to me as a gift? Or doesn't that work that way? Also, I'd first need to hear if the 3rd party developers go regionfree as well, because apparently it's an optional thing? The 250 Euros is a bit disappointing because they had promised it'd be cheaper than that, and I just don't care about the Sports game.

I once tried it but I couldn't really get in, gameplay wise. I just didn't know what the heck I was doing. Should give it another chance, but I'm already catching up another oldie, System Shock 2.
