Awesome animated commercial with rocking birds bursting into flames.

How can you all be so DEAD INSIDE!!

OMG! Orgrim Doomhammer would have been voiced by OPTIMUS PRIME. OPTIMUS. PRIME.

At the time I was still really a fan of adventures (like, diehard) and I was quite crushed to see my two favourite things in gaming get cancelled. I quickly understood that it must have been for the best, though. I've learned to trust Blizzard in their judgement. However, I still cherish the one animated trailer that was released as a teaser with the (I believe) original Starcraft.

PS3 backwards compatibility glitch.
Roderick replied to General Fuzzy McBitty's topic in Video Gaming
I doubt there'll be problems with the Wii 'back catalogie' (virtual console), but that's because they're dripfeeding us the games instead of facing the mammoth task of getting them all done from day one. -
That's probably in Amsterdam. I doubt they'll open up a store in Tiel. I'd like to be at one of those midnight openings once. Not for the products but for the experience and atmosphere. The closest thing was when I was at a Mediamarket at opening in the morning to get World of Warcraft.

Don't we have to wait until the 8th of December, Marek? Wel, it'll be tough times, but it's been far worse. These are only a few weeks. I'll just have to avoid any and all reviews of Zelda (I've heard 1Up posted a moment-by-moment guide for the first ten hours of the game? What the fuck?! Why would anyone be interested in that?!) for the time being. No biggie. I echo your thoughts on Raving Rabbids: I oscillate between liking it and not being sure. After all, it IS a bunch of minigames and these have been known to not keep me occupied for very long. I can't really see myself returning to it, but who knows. With prices of 60 Euros (?) however, impulse buying might be out of the question. Just because a new console is launching doens't mean I'll have a lot of money to spare suddenly. My budget is tight as ever. Zelda is the big motivation to buy it in the first place however. Well, you know, as far as game-games go. Looking forward to Wii Sports, actually. Boxing is such fun. Wouldn't mind doing that with people more often. Great workout, great fun.

Pretty hilarious though. With a Chinese on the podium and everyone evading questions, and the majority of the lines consisting of the Chinese and homeless.

Claud's in there?! ZOMFG! Also, I was partially expecting you to have a hook-hand or two, Ben.
-
That sucks dudes. Disappointment = initiated.
-
Is that BEN ANDAC I see there? Yes it is!
-
In that case I'll get it later. There was no date yet or anything, I just got a promise I'd get the assignment =) When is Portrait set to arrive now?

My chief editor called and gave me awesome news: I get to write a 2-page review on Phoenix Wright 2 for the next [N]Gamer. Hell YES! (Also, it's almost a done deal that I get to review Portrait of Ruin. This'll be the best freaking edition ever.)
-
Yes, that's a problem. A good reviewer has to hone these skills though, prick through the initial wow-factor and hype, but it'll always be a problem. For hindsight, we've got Idle Thumbs. Hind-hind-hindsight.

http://www.screwattack.com/AngryNerdMain.html Been going for about half a year I should assume. Bit shorter. It's a guy whose fulminating about crappily designed NES games. Like I said, it's scripted but enjoyable.
-
Did you watch the Angry Nintendo Nerd bash Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest? That was pretty awesome. (note: the show is also sometimes extremely phony and scripted, but if you go with it it's fun entertainment and you get to see some really bizarre games)
-
Shit? I thought it was awesome and struck exactly the tone I'd expect from a Spider-Man movie. Nice and epic, iconic even. And a very clear theme that they probably manage to play expertly through the movie.

Portrait won't even have the same characters, right? Totally different story, I thought. Same awesome gameplay though I love the little bits of RPG they tuck in there. I wouldn't mind even more, and more adventure elements. Already there are scarce puzzles in there; would be awesome to have even more mystery and secrets. (Which reminds me, the only things that I thought were a mite disappointing about the Sorrows was that they didn't have secrets rooms and walls that you could discover. I want more secrets!)

Harmony of Dissonance was cool, but there were some things seriously lacking there. For one, I had a hard time adjusting to the cartoony way the enemies were visualised after the extreme gothic seriousness of Circle of the Moon. Another thing that I felt was lacking was huge bosses: most all of them fit into a small room. But it's by far no bad game. The magic system may have been the weakest of the series, but the atmosphere is quite good and it's another fine platform game. Can't hold a candle to the Sorrows, though

I love the whole Castlevania series. Honestly, you can't go wrong with either of the Sorrows. Because Dawn is a loose sequel of Aria, it may be more fun if you first play the GBA Sorrow. Though Dawn is [technically] superior. Not by that much though, they are both made of awesome. I love how the story progressively gets a larger role. One aspect of Dawn that is extremely bad is the art style: instead of the beautiful, haunting paintings, we get a dull and tedious anime style for the characters. It's not a huge stumbling block, but a point of infinite sadness and a crack in the flawless prestige of the series. I am anxiously awaiting Portrait of Ruin. It should take the series in a new direction, but I expect it to feel quite comfortable.

I have REDISCOVERED New Super Mario Bros through its excellent multiplayer game! Mario vs Luigi in intense small-level battles for the stars! I'm having fun even when I'm losing, but the most fun is of course when you're battling against equals. It gets so incredibly heated and I am frequently laughing out loud from all the antics and unsuspected moves pulled off. Giddy!

Curses! I missed it. I want photo's.

Wow, that's really tough. Still, as soon as you can buy PW2 in your homecountry, it'll be worth it importing still because it's a lot cheaper. I think the odds are quite good that PW4 will have more stylus-based things, just like the last case in the first game. Why else would they bother? Unless they're aiming to be anticlimactic. But I think they've got a good taste of what it could be and should be really excited about the new avenues they can take the series with the new control scheme.

It's a great comedic show, but they do always have a moral of the story, which they usually bring with flair and wit. So that's good. Season 5 is arguably the worst, especially because they chose to drag out the usually short flashbacks/dreams really ridiculously mch, but instead of becoming hilarious they just fell flat. Especially the kung fu fighting bit in the beginning of the season was horrible. I don't think it matters in which way you watch them, though a few subtleties will be lost to you, like JD's yearly catching up with Elliot, or subtle transformations of the characters. That said, I hope season 6 is great again, like 1 and 4. Eagle!!
