I think I can safely say it just doesn't work when I'm at school. I've tried for two days during the entire day, and it's always down. I then go home and play in the evening and it works fine. So it must be something with the connection on school that's buggering it up.

Hmmm, I'm on school again and the servers are down. Could it be the internet connection here, or just coincidence?
-
Right! It works now. I've made my first shipment to a neighbouring skyland. Haven't formed an opinion yet. Nice touch that flight times are realtime. The fighting went horrible but that's probably just my crappy plane, so I'm skipping it, focussing on trade for the time being. I'm hoping the game deepens out after a while in, and that I'll get some interesting interaction with other players.

If, that is, the entered birthday is correct. In which case, congratulations with becoming 26! Now go dress up as a zombie again and make a new podcast. You've got an audience, man! (Forged the erroneous date)

It's really quite awesome. I played it last weekend, but I got stuck after finding the fourth or fifth artefact. I really couldn't jump my way out of that part of the maze anymore, which must be an error on my part. Great world design though, with those little creatures and people running here and there. Or even, hither and thither. Why, it gave me even Samorost-like feelings. Shall we pick a date?

Well, today I heard that the apartment I wanted is already gone and that buying is a trifle more expensive than I had previously expected, so the idea might be put in the fridge for now =( Very unfortunate. I was really hyped to get my walls painted, but should I know go rental again...

I'll just try again tomorrow. My character's name is Marduk by the way, and my vehicle is the Ziggurat Zeppelin.

Bah, I want to play but the servers have been down for 15 minutes now. I'll try again in an hour or so.

Yes, I'm just hugely uninformed, don't mind me I thought there was going to be a regular RR platform game though... in 3D. But I'm surely mistaken.

Year Two = Sex (Not sex over the phone though.)

There WILL be a traditional Rayman-game made with the Rabbids theme, but it's just not going to be on the Wii, but on PS2 or something (unsure). If we're really lucky, Ubisoft will see it fit to release it on the Wii as well, eventually. I don't care if it's with the oldschool controller; I just want a real adventure with Rayman. I thought Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc was a bit meh though. Not going into huge rants about it, you'll just have to take this at face value.

I saw a trailer for this game, I believe, on Gametrailers (Dragonquest, not Golden Sun). And it apparently features exactly the same enemies as the latest DQ (which was, 8? On PS2.), maybe even the same models, just scaled down. Which would explain how they're able to make it this fast =)

Well Snubs, Grim Fandango would be very difficult. Not just because of the act of painting itself, but also because it would make my room overtly dark. It's probably going to be my living room, so I want to make it at least a marginally comfortable, relaxing place. And there's no better way to bring Zen into a room than by means of a rolling seascape. I've settled on Guybrush in his cart and that's what it's going to be =)

I always assumed the Thumb just ripped the picture from somewhere! It seemed so random! I'm so ashamed. There are some nice pointers on the blog of the Day of the Tentacle dude about using a beamer, and painter's tape.

I think I'd get a nervous breakdown after a week. Come on, you can't relax with a wall like that. All the reds! And the destruction! And possibly a mecha-goose!
-
Does anyone has any links to torrents of these episodes? Something like Gaiden deserves to be viewed in higher resolution than the BBC Scotland site can offer us.
-
Believe it or not, but I actually gave Wolfenstein 3D consideration. Obviously with mecha-Hitler somewhere on the wall. And the crazy syringe-flinging Nazi doctor.

Having that in my face every day for years will surely cost me my teeth; so sweet as Kirby and his sugary world are! I've been thinking some more about doing something with Curse of Monkey Island. I had my reservations on painting walls full of palm trees and forest details, so I looked for something else that I might do. Then I stumbled upon the perfect solution: I could paint the walls full of sea with skies dotted with typical MI3 clouds, and then have Guybrush bob around in his carnival of the damned-cart, lost in thought in his diary. Then around him I could put some details in the background, like galleys and islands and whatnot. That would totally rock! And more over, it would be something I haven't stolen from someone else's wallpaintings. That's added bonus right there. And it wouldn't cost me months painting tedious leaf after bothersome bushel, with all the risks of ruining it in the process or discovering afterwards the styles don't gel. So I like the idea! Hopefully my appartement will have plain white walls for me to decorate. (Oh, and El Muerte; doped-up trees would make me go insane after a few weeks. Commander Keen was a cool game, but visually not very err... attractive )

Adventure games! Oh my god, how could I have so forgotten my own heritage! The Day of the Tentacle wall was superb, but though I love the game I haven't really got supreme memories of it. I'd hinge more towards Monkey Island 3 (quite possible because of the cellshaded cartoon graphics; though the painted backdrops would be a chore) or Grim Fandango. The problem with both of these is that they'll require some painting, which I don't have any experience with. So the chances of screwing up will be present, more so than with pure pixel art. Monkey Island would be really cool though. Even though I'd rather go for Grim Fandango, I fear that would make my room too dark, where a nice tropical island with palm trees will give the environment some more cheer. Still, a Mushroom Kingdom wall would be a lot easier. Suggestions are still much appreciated, because the above have already aided in the decision =)

You bunch of NERDS with your singular obsession!!!! I'm done.

Last thursday I saw some bits of R:RR, the first 'tier' of minigames if you will. My first impression was actually that I didn't think it looked that good. I wasn't expecting 360-type of graphics, but it just seemed a bit too jaggy. Also, there was something jarring about the transition from part to part of the game. Going into a minigame and then returning to the arena... for some reason I didn't really gel, but it's a feeling I really can't quite put into rational words. Despite these aesthetic comments however, I did see there was a lot of fun to be had with this title. I also, fortunately, became quite convinced that Rayman wasn't for me. Seeing now with my own eyes that it really is a collection of minigames was enough to understand I wouldn't like it that much. Because I just can't be bothered with minigames games, no matter how much style they pour onto it. Pity! Maybe the GBA/DS game will be more to my liking.

He knows, Rusalka. There's just no point anymore.

Awesomesauce! Though I wouldn't have minded a follow-up CD with the rest of the tracks from the game that they missed in the first one either. Like the Napoleon theme or Lungfishopolis.

But CliffyB made Gears of War!!!

Ooh, that sounds pretty nice, actually. Almost right up my alley. Out of curiosity; how many content writers are there ar NCSoft; or generally in a company?
