On Normal mode, it's actually not a very hard game. Some bits are challenging, but they appear mostly in the first act and at key points during the third.

Well, woman?! I've been waiting for those elusive photographs for two days now! I want to actually see the social retards, the people who shouldn't be there, Peter Molyneux in an embarrassing position with his mouth agape and other frightful things!
-
Hahaha, oh man I'd have freaked out if I hadn't been able to run! I also thought the Cube controls were pretty awesome, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it works on the Wii.

'Always' being a relative term, it has been like this for the past few months, yes. Surely Scorpy's grin did not go unnoticed for so long?

Piddle! Also, good for you. No complementary styluses here. I'm still waiting for goddamned cd-wow to ship my copy after delaying it FOUR TIMES for over a month in total now. Everyone: do not EVER order anything at cd-wow. Bunch of fuckers.

consolevania's international shared game playing thing

Then a GBA game is pretty much our best bet. Region-free and anyone with a GBA or DS can play it. Also, perfect for 'a level of...' whichever platformer. -
I think you're doing them a favour by not leading them on by any means. Once ensnared in your psychic tendrils, there's no telling what mindboggling horrors one must endure. Of course, I'm not telling you anything new

Stop this incessant posting of all the good things about Brighton! I want to go there every time a little more, and once I do I'll probably find out it's nothing more than another dreary English hovel or grey industrial city. You are free to prove me wrong of course. Preferably through the donation of a plane ticket.

Grim and other PC games won't be as suitable. For one, it works better with a game that has save stations instead of the ability to save anywhere and anytime. How would a person 'know' when to quit? Resident Evil's restrictions on saving through Ribbons make it ideal. Secondly, one of the fun aspects is that they're sending the memory card so every plays on the same save. I'd say something like Metroid Prime could work. It's suitably tough as well and pretty well spread. Otherwise a 3D Mario game where everyone has to get three stars or shines out of a level? -
That's a trifle expensive. I got my German DVD boxset for respectively 80, 80 and 55 Euros. That's right, the bastards never released the fourth season because it wasn't dubbed in German. And I don't even care for the dub! I was just excited there were boxsets available! Now I have to get the fourth season in a different format and box, which sucks.

Yes, he was her little bundle of joy.

Well, there already is such an episode of course, in season 3. Quality stuff.

The link would be nothing more than a petite news blurb on scifi.com. Probably still somewhere on the front page. As regards Scorpius,

Except then usually, you don't I've still got loads of really good GC games lying around that I've had for many years now and never got around to play. Stuff like Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes, Resident Evil remake, Prince of Persia, Viewtiful Joe 2, Starfox Adventures, it goes on and on. And then I haven't even touched on DS games.
-
Hmm, can't really remember. Wait, now I remember. Yes, they do have some touching points. In other fantastisc Farscape news: SCIFI.com has ordered... (wait for it) Farscape WEBISODES to be made! Don't know when they'll air them yet, but there's NEW Farscape material coming! Not much is known further, but I do hope

Consolevania loves prizes!!

Is that still on? Eh.

Ah yes, that was excellent. Kenny. 'Burn it'. Scary how he actually look like Christian Bale there.

Since when have the majority of PC FPSses been anything else than linear, straightforward, shallow shoot-em-ups? (Half-life and other exceptions notwithstanding) I think Gears of War will feel right at home with the Unreal crowd. The reason Halo bombed (apparently?) was because a.) It really wasn't that good to begin with in comparison to what the PC had to offer. It only seemed awesome for the console crowd because they finally, for the first time, had an FPS that actually worked on a console. But the plastic atmosphere and lack of character of the game really couldn't interest me. b.) It was severely outdated when it was released for the PC, some two years or more after its arrival on the Xbox. Technically it looked horrendous. I remember the TV commercials where in the last two seconds they zoom into one of the alien bad guys and it's supposed to be scary, but it looks like an ill-designed enemy of the N64 era judging by its low polygone count and dull textures. Both do not apply to GoW.

I have to break a lance (Dutch expression) for Gears of War here: I thought it was rocking good and I'm a PC gamer historically. To me, what made it great was the little touches, not the big innovations (which were none, except maybe the over-shoulder camera which was brilliantly implemented). The really splendid amount of polish that ensured that (multiplayer) gaming was tremendously fun, visceral (the chainsaw!) and 'distinct' enough from other games. To each his own of course! I also can't imagine what it must be like to watch CV for the first time beginning with season 3. Though it's obviously a bit of a new start, there's still massive amounts of in-jokes, and their style has evolved as well. It's a bit like Family Guy: if you've followed it from the beginning you know what to 'do' with, for instance, a 3-minute interlude where it's just Stewie dancing with a live-action, Dick van Dyke-esque sailor. Such things must be unfathomable if you see it for the first time without the gradual development.

They walk a fine line between trying to shock and being critical gamers/journalists. You'll probably end up liking them, if you give them a chance. You'll find most of what they say is heavily satirical; Nazi comments included. There's certainly no laughing AT them usually -they're pretty funny. The dog guy was Ken Kutaragi, ruining a poor peasant with unsound financial advice. The Not Evil guy is someone called Ziggy Springfield, a new character in the CV universe. He's likely here for the rest of the season, don't know if he'll be good yet. He'll have to be if he wants to succeed John Gacy though.

You know, that really sounds awesome. If you had posted this two years ago when I had to do an internship, I would've seriously considered it. My intern days are over though, but I do know some game design students over at the HKU. Some of them mayn't mind coming over to Brighton. Some of them mayn't even mind working with Spazz Nightingale.

I don't think there's specific Nintendo-hate. I think it's partly economics (they never had all the consoles, low budget) and partly because... well, I don't know. Maybe they're not THAT interested. It is a shame though. Come to think of it, I never saw a Nintendo console game reviewed. Never noticed that before! VideoGaiden did have a Gamecube retrospective, I believe.

Yes, I watched the first episode! Hooray! CV's back! Initially it was a bit weird, because at first they're really takinga very scripted, geeky approach with the Consolevania Towers thing, the talking computer, greenscreened elevators and stuff. But the good stuff comes shortly after. Emilio Zerg is fantastic, and the reviews are nice as always. I do hope we'll see a bit of John Gacy as well during a cameo. John Gacy is great

Wow. It really looks so incredibly dull to 'play'. I mean, I'm not even talking about the massive levels of pretentiousness in the imagery. I'm talking your bare bones gameplay functionality. Why is everything so slow? I understand you'd want to give the ffect of walking in some kind of lucid dream environment with very suggestive and provocative visual cues, but I don't think that ghosting effect makes for a very good game if you use it constantly. Maybe I just don't understand art that well. But I do understand games, and whatever this was, it wasn't a game, but it was pretty effing boring.
