Actually, I kinda like Big Red One as well. Might be a little silly but I don't mind.

Super Paper Mario comes to Europe, but I'm not excited any more...

Wait, wait, Tanu... you're saying that in the past, sequels would take LONGER than now to make? Games were a lot shorter to create back then, so that doesn't compute. From the perspective of the EA/Ubisoft/Activision sequel franchises it might be correct that there's merely a year between their release, but if we look at the Blizzard scale of development time... Warcraft I -> Warcraft II: 10 months (!) Warcraft II -> Warcraft III: A Babillion Years. -
Wait wait, this is not SUCH a complicated thing, is it? Or am I missing something? It's, as always, a delight to watch the Daily Show and it needs no special justification, but I didn't know loads of people were confounded over this. I mean- sure, non-internet users...

I'm going to add to this thread with this.

I actually never played Half-Life 2, so Orange Box is extraordinary value for money for me. 5 new games for probably around 50 Euros; all of them red hot. -
It's pretty good. It's a lot more 'deep' than Kororinpa, because you often have to control two or more blobs and paint them in different colours. The visuals are a bit gaudy, but that shouldn't matter. Of course, the game doesn't have the same rich personality as a Monkey Ball, but for a budget price it's pretty nice.

Dungeon Keeper was more along those lines; the whole campaign serving to corrupt the land. But I think you mean more along the lines of dynamic intelligent evil; abusing micro systems in the gaming world.

It is my duty to inform you that regrettably, Super Paper Mario isn't such an excitable title to begin with. It's certainly decent, but not worth getting all hyped up over. I give it an 8,5 in the next [N]Gamer, which isn't a bad grade at all, but is disappointing if you consider that in our mind's eyes it rated at least 9+. At the moment I'm not particularly excited about a lot of games either. Bioshock is out, so that bottle's opened; Mass Effect does still hold some intruige; and really only Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney gets me revved. And Diablo 3. Which isn't even announced yet, but still. -
Jam looks interesting. Is it a.) available on DVD b.) worthwhile to get on DVD ?

I would deem the chances of a Double Fine game being called Brütal Legend extraordinarily slim. Even with the umlaut, it's a crappy, generic name and last time I checked, they didn't do that over there. I could be wrong, but after the Rock & Roll Heaven thing, I'm not banking on anything anymore.

I loved it. It's such an amazing, creepy, Phil Collins-infested piece using random bits of Consolevania and just making them... intruigingly terrifying. Oh god especially the bit with Sammy and err... the ending. (It is greatly preferable to the Scottish gaming industry fluff piece, which I found quite boring and useless.)

I can't even begin to express how much more superior cats are to dogs in every single way.

Dig into the comments underneath the post to find a link to some bootleg copy somebody managed to unearth before Ziggy pulled it.

Just wait till the horrible point where the game flips from Challenging to Infuriatingly Impossible. God I hate that point oh -that doesn't subtract from the game's awesomeness by the way. Just the extent to which you can finish it.

There's a big difference between the quality of speed with which you can access everything, and not having access to everything. In the current system all information (barring some commercial sites etc) is free and you only pay for the logistical means of 'getting there'. But an internet caste system is wholly undesirable because it's an artificial implementation with no cause save for greed.

Marginally related: yesterday I saw the first episode of Office US that made me creep behind the couch for reasons of embarrassment. The David Brent ripoff and Dwight visited a convention where they had to give a speech. The former tried his god-awful jokes and got no response, the latter copied one of Himmler's speeches. It was awesome, and terrifying. First time the series managed to do that and reminded me of the original UK show.

,,Mistaaaaaaaaaaaaake!"

The reward was awesome! But in all seriousness, I hope the next minigame will actually be an interesting game instead of 'simply' a good joke.

The first week there was horrifying and I couldn't manage to visit properly. But with proper moderation it could become a nice place. Though people are trying to be way too funny over there, which kind of takes away the specialness of actually having something witty to say now and again. But let's not be persnickety; I think in time it may get it's own vibbbe. Don't you agree, Soaiuourse?

Now you've made me very curious. I expect this is an arthouse release or is it in actual cinemas?
-
It's out already? I liked the trailer, though this might not be a cinema must-see for me.

I think you're being a little easy with that one, Ben. Either recognizing or relating to Tingle doesn't necessarily predict your esteem of him. I can imagine someone simply not liking his visual design (which is, pray admit, somewhat disturbing), or the function he performs in the games. And it goes two ways: you can like Tingle just because he's such an outrageous character, with his sociological role of no consequence.

I would like to give you -the proud, the few, the faithful Thumbeteers- a sneak preview of my graduation movie which will be finished begin September. It's called Death of a Clown.

Haha, sarcasm is lost on you, isn't it Elmuerte?

Well, and then there was eerie silence. For the next fortnight
