  1. Mr Splashy Pants

Mr. Splashy Pants is superior, but Moya would have been excellent and nerdy too; after the whaleships from Farscape
  2. Zero Punctuation

Yes. Zero Punctuation manages te not ever irritate with the way it's been edited, which can easily happen if you tamper with normally paced speech.
  3. You Can't Spell Assassin Without...

Ooh, could you manage a quick link to the article she second-opinioned? Massive quantities of interest, right here It's pretty ironic that Raymond fronting Assassin's Creed is both extremely positive (a lot of attention) and negative (folks don't take her as serious because she's a woman). Both are pretty much a pity because they take away from the importance of the game. That said, I always thought she did a pretty good job trying to guide attention away from her and onto the game. I don't think she ever spoke a lot about stuff not related to Assassin's. And having a charming frontman is never a bad thing.
  4. Zero Punctuation

Intruiging speculation: the Phantom Hourglass review was strangely absent from the quick-list to the right of the page. Did he consider it unfair after all, or was it a fluke? Anyway, nothing wrong with this episode in particular.
  5. A warm welcome to our latest forumer...

I am small, but hot. I am a glowing piece of coal that just kicked itself out of the barbecue.
  6. Just picked up the keys...

My first room had the tendency to erupt once a night into the sound of a wooden plank snapping in twain very loudly for no apparent reason. That startled me the first time, until I realized the attic wasn't going to cave in. I usually cook really simple things because it's too much effort to do elaborate things for myself. I do like being able to cook nice things though, so it's a skill well worth investing in. I love being able to invite a girl to my house and say 'I'll cook for you'.
  7. I shoot things with my Wii

Haha, brilliant. Anyone tried out Umbrella Chronicles yet? Is it out in the US already? Maybe at trade shows or something? I refused to stand in a huge line at the Nintendo booth last week. so I'm pretty weak I guess.
  8. Just picked up the keys...

I never really had any problems, not even in the first few weeks. Is that a rule? The transition was pretty seemless here from elderly home-room to awesome apartment.
  9. You Can't Spell Assassin Without...

What? Group mechanics are a pretty novel thing; available only now in this latest generation in this sophisticated manner. Until companies stop making 2D fighters and other hugely old concepts, I think it can't hurt to see another stealthy group mechanics game featuring more intricate interaction Also, it's patriarchical bullshit that having a front woman would somehow tell you something about the quality of the game.
  10. So Metroid Prime 3 is released today

Oh god, how disappointing of them. I was so excited at the rumours that the game was actually a little more lenient this time around; that the developers had acknowledged they had made the previous two a tad too brutal. Clucking bell.
  11. Just picked up the keys...

    Hitler approves!!
  12. PS3 or XBox 360?

That's rather short-term thinking of them. And also, evil.
  13. Movie/TV recommendations

Tin Man looks quite nice, but I can't really say what it's going to be like yet. Anyway, I just saw The Importance of Being Earnest again; the 2002 movie with Colin Firth and Judy Dench. It was just as delicious as when I saw it a few months ago on the BBC. What a great adaptation of Wilde's play and what exuberant roles. Especially Algernon is just a delight to look at =)
  14. Futurama's Return: Bender's Big Fail

Featurelength sitcom movies are rarely very good. I mean; the Family Guy movie was just an episode too, basically. (The 100th episode double was brilliant, by the way )
  15. PS3 or XBox 360?

See that bothers me a bit because exactly how is the 360 not a next-gen system while the PS3 apparently is? I never got that. To me it seemed like Sony-bred propaganda.
  16. PS3 or XBox 360?

Are there? I can't keep track.
  17. Movie/TV recommendations

What on Earth is going on in Britland nowadays? First the Chavs, now the Idiots? Here in the Netherlands we still just have your regular variety of punks on the street.
  18. Consolevania Towers

New one's up, go get it! http://www.consolevania.com Gonna watch it now and report on it later.
  19. Consolevania Towers

I don't think it's been released on DVD. Otherwise I'd have read it somewhere. I'd love it though; especially season 2. Season 1 has its awesome moments too, though. Fuck off, Batman.
  20. Allow me to forcefeed this to all my friends now. Thank you.
  21. Consolevania Towers

Season 3 seems to be on hold, unfortunately, but it's for a good cause... http://www.bbc.co.uk/videogaiden/
  22. PS3 or XBox 360?

It just so happens I'm having a discussion about this with a friend of mine right now. He's extremely hateful of all things Microsoft, so I always end up defending the Xbox. Personally, my view is that at this point, you buy a PS3 because of the future prospects of the machine, whereas the 360 already has a respectable line-up of really good [exclusive] titles. It basically all depends on what you want. The 360 has a stronger catalogue at the moment, with many of the PS3's best games also arriving on the machine. The landscape may change in the coming years, of course, but I'd be surprised if the 360 were marginalised even many years from now. It's quite true that many of the 360's top sellers will eventually arrive on the PC. So if you've got a buffed PC and you don't mind gaming on it, it's a solid argument against the machine, though you can never be sure of ports of course. The truth is, it's a difficult thing. The previous generation was easier because the PS2 was so obviously dominant and the Xbox had little of interest (the Cube being in a league of its own, just like the Wii right now). This time around, the 360 currently has the best support of all the development houses and easily rivals [and surpasses] the PS3. Still, I maintain that the PS3 is a future promise, while the 360 is a console that's valid this very moment. I'm certainly going to buy a 360 during the next two months.
  23. Mass Effect

A PC port sounds very likely. I'll probably try Mass Effect out sometime in a while. I've never played a new-school Bioware RPG, so I don't know what to expect. KOTOR never managed to interest me much, in any case (I mean attract me without playing it).
  24. You Can't Spell Assassin Without...

Could someone with a PS3 confirm whether the Gametrailers.com comparison of the PS3 and 360 versions is tampered with? Because the PS3 version looks frighteningly inferior; less contrast, extremely blurry. I'd dislike to think the comparison had some hidden agenda against the PS3 or anything. So, is the game as nice as it looks on the 360 (which I have seen with my own eyes and know is exactly like in the test), or is it really that subpar?
