  1. Holy Shit!

You can't expect a normal person to be able to endure that kind of pressure. Especially when there's fucking unicorns involved I'd crack.
  2. Videogaiden 3

Ah yes, thanks. I must say, that advent calendar remains highly amusing, even after weeks. The actual game is of course tedious, but the picture... quite good. This is turning out to be a rather gayish Christmas, if you also regard the Santasm movie. Excellent
  3. Failure!! I still want to destroy Beowulf.
  4. Holy Shit!

She's actually snapped her umbrella in twain out of purest frustration. Dare I venture? Those fucking unicorns.
  5. Holy Shit!

    haha, yeah right.
  6. Crysis

The thing that I've heard at some places was that the biggest difference between Bioshock and Crysis is that Bioshock has a strong visual design, whereas Crysis just wants to be as realistic as possible, in effect shunning any notion of design. Hence, no matter the polygon count, Bioshock will always be the more impressive, beautiful, evocative one, graphically. Now I've not played Crysis, so this isn't aimed at it in particular, but when will designers understand that realism is extremely boring in a game?
  7. Umbrella Chronicles

    Most certainly!
  8. Umbrella Chronicles

    Have fun with it, sir.

I can't find a single line there I disagree with. The fanboy in me likes the trailer, but at the same time I fully understand the disappointment at the contrast between the smart viral campaigns and this straightforward, predictable piece of film. We'll see what happens, in a good six months (ouch). I still predict it's going to rock, because I just can't see Christopher Nolan making the Batman equivalent of 'Die Hard 4', i.e.; nice but shallow with a lot of explosions, as this trailer seems to suggest.
  10. I love the hidden frustration in 'Those Fucking Unicorns'. They must've really pissed off the band in some way.
  11. Umbrella Chronicles

Well, since I'm Dutch, I gather the European version is already in stores =)

Admittedly, there's no depth in it, but on the other side, all sense of critical thinking leaves me as soon as the combination Batman + Joker is made. Especially including this creepy zombie-Joker. The one thing that defined Batman Begins was that for the first time, Batman was actually the lead character, and interesting at that, instead of the bad guys stealing the show. The Dark Knight, according to this trailer, will be different. Should be different, actually, considering that the whole Batman universe revolves around the epic conflict between these two men. But the writer/director and actors' track record in mind, I have no doubt this movie will rock enormously. It's been almost 20 years since the Joker last starred in a proper movie, so I'm super excited. Out of curiosity, what don't you like about Heath in this role? I was first rooting for Crispin Glover to be the villain, but now I'm actually happy it became Ledger, because Crispin would've been too weird, too frail perhaps. Now the Joker's a really scary guy.
  13. Hahaha XD The Asbestos Tampons! The Color Fred
  14. Opening credits

Yes, before noticing you linked to the Dexter opening, I was gonna post the Dexter opening. Very nice one. The Mad Men intro was indubitably inspired by the excellent animation that starts Casino Royale, with its gangster suited rotoscoping. Nothing against it of course, but it's still pretty obvious. I usually don't mind seeing openings if they're of exceptional quality. I've never in four seasons skipped the House intro, that's for sure. I get a little kick every time I see it. By contrast, I always skip the Babylon 5 one, just because it's so generic and cumbersome with its speech.

Summer 2008?! This, sirs, constitutes torture. Someone put me in a half year stasis.
  16. $t34md!

Hahaha Good luck to you, by the way, Toblix. Of course, Xilbot wasn't the smartest of passwords
  17. Umbrella Chronicles

Ah, just the remote. I don't care very much for the gun, I hear it gives you accuracy at the cost of speed, which isn't a good deal for me. It seems too cumbersome to wield hours on end. Just to put my above review in balance; there are certainly some weaker points in the game, like its very short length. And the gameplay itself could have offered a bit more in terms of alternative paths, better feedback on what the enemy's weak points are and more alternative ways to get rid of foes. But there is also much to love; like the copying of huge amounts of cinematics from earlier games. Despite this giving sometimes weird jumps in quality (suddenly seeing original cinematics from Resident Evil 2 being used after the gorgeous ones from the REmake and Zero is a bit jarring), I love the great emphasis on story in this game. Also, the writing and voice acting is appropriately rubbish and over the top, which is exactly what I want from my Resident Evil.

The viral internet campaigns for The Dark Knight are awesome. First there was the 'friends of Harvey Dent' site and its dark twin which unveiled the Joker's face for the first time. Now there are a bunch of sites like the Gotham Times, the Ha Ha Times, whysoserious.com and who knows what more. It's great. But most of all, I just want to see the movie When's it due?

I'm sure you'll enjoy it, Mr. Vania =) Now here's a jewel: The upcoming trailer is already leaked, but I can't wait for a proper quality one in a few days or a week or so. I'm super excited for this film!
  20. Rigby

    Congratulations!!
  21. Today I finally finished the game with 120 Stars, so I've unlocked Luigi and can now start all over again with him Looking forward to it! And yes, today I therefore also grabbed the courage to do the Toy Time Luigi Purple Coins level. It was utter madness, and you wouldn't believe the ridiculously lucky jumps I made when I, to my complete surprise, succeeded. The last few challenges: the purple coins, the daredevils comets and the trial galaxies, are all quite difficult. Even frustrating. But somehow, they never stopped being fun. I had to attempt some things 10 times, but I kept enjoying myself. I guess because the game showed me time and time again that my persistence was inexorably rewarded with success. And lo, in the end I completed everything, even though I don't consider myself a genius platformer. Having finished the game now, I feel confident to say that this is brilliance, an utterly unique experience that is in a complete league of its own. No title can touch Galaxy. They may be good in their own right, but they're not even playing the same game.
  22. Merry Christmas, Thumbs!

    That was mesmerizing.
  23. Greenpeace video game campaign video (LOL)

The movie is horrible, it's trash and badly written. So let's forget that. I also dislike people's sanctimonious attitude towards hypocricy. Blaming someone of hypocricy is a product of binary thinking; trying to fit people into extremes. At least, in these cases. That's not to say a person can't or shouldn't live up to his own ideals and views [of how others should be], but in the end we're all human. And if the ideal is good, then it's good, right?
  24. Only Centauri have tentacles, but Yufster's not bald so it must be something else.
