  1. Who would you vote for?

I don't know a frightful lot about McCain, but I've heard he wouldn't be so bad for the 'democrat' side of the country. Anyone a quick introduction to his ideas and policies?
  2. Review: My Good Fortune

Woah there. Firefly is involved in this thing? Now I'm piqued.
  3. Who would you vote for?

The compass confirmed that Obama was closest to my own ideas. Mike Huckabee, is on the other, apparently the devil. But then again, if Huckabee wins, Colbert becomes vice president, and something good has to come from that, won't it?
  4. Screw Barack Obama

I just realised what a naive thing it is to really hope for and expect an end to racism. That's like expecting there not being any bastards anymore in the future. Of course there will be. And of course they'll grab race, and any other easy means, to bully other people.
  5. Gears of War for Windows

It was the little touches that made it such a vast leap forward for the shootergenre. The duck and cover mechanic, the roadie run, the timed reloading and other tiny improvements that together became big. But most of all, the best aspect of Gears of War is its extremely intense multiplayer. I'll agree that the singleplayer never really captured me, but multiplayer is good for hours and hours of chainsawing fun. But perhaps the game is already aging rather poorly, I can't judge that at this point.
  6. Is that real-time? Or unedited input, or whatever? In that case, it's amazing. Also, I am in agreeance (yes) with Jo about what she said just then.
  7. Videogaiden 3

Continuity, number nine, another fun episode. Is. I'm secretly hoping there'll be a Videogaiden DVD someday with all the seasons in one place in good quality.
  8. Uncharted

If it's any better, you can also imagine that the clouds are just white bushes in the sky But isn't it much easier now to imagine that Mario is running through patches of toxic vapour whenever he crosses a bushel? Surely that idea makes up for any damage done.
  9. Uncharted

I reall fail to see what's so diminishing about this discovery. It only adds to the awesome design of Mario from my viewpoint =]
  10. Uncharted

I find it amazing that you're all so angry at this discovery. It blew my mind when I read it; I thought it was amazing. So elegant, so simple, and yet nobody notices it until you are pointed towards it. Surely it's fantastic that a 20 year old classic can still have secrets to uncover!
  11. Uncharted

Once you see it, you can't unsee it. Much like how Mario Bros bushes are just green clouds.
  12. Uncharted

Also, remember that half-tuck is the new mullet.
  13. Screw Barack Obama

I'm sorry, Mr. Edison, but we use grown-up language here instead of curse-filled diatribes like a fourteen-year-old. If you have something interesting to say, say it in a way that doesn't insult everyone's age here.
  14. Zero Punctuation

We're like paes in a pod.
  15. Zero Punctuation

Aah, excellent. Half of his criticisms of the game are actually why I enjoy it: the inane dialogues, the on-rails genre... Also, I thought Rebecca was cute, not a 9 year old boy. Now I feel like a pead and Yufster will harrass me forever. Pead-sense tingling!
  16. Rez HD

I played Rez about a year back, and I know you're gonna kick me for this, but I didn't get it. Perhaps I was doing something wrong, like not lining up the shots properly, or not being doped up.
  17. Unofficial Baby Thumb's 1st birthday today!

Congratulations baby T!! /hugs the little guy
  18. Videogaiden 3

I wouldn't be surprised if there were to be an mp3 version for download later on on the site. I'll wait for that one Critique, the latest episode, had a fun idea which they really push to a satisfying apotheosis at the end. I had been hoping they'd go for it, and they did, and it was great.
  19. Overlord

Today I heard there were some showstopper bugs in Overlord, so I went online to see if there was a way to avoid them. The PC version is patched, but they're still working on the 360 update. It seems the two biggest problems are a glitch where you can't progress if you leave some specific area in the middle of a puzzle (which I'll never experience because I compulsively clean out every area before leaving it) and apparently some part where your savegames can be deleted. But I couldn't find any specific information on that, on why it happened and where, so it could be just a rumour. I'm now over 10 hours in, and I'm still enjoying it. I can see there isn't much of a story, but that's not really a problem for me. I rightly perceived the game as having more of a 'narrative setting' rather than a real narrative. One thing that slightly annoys me is that there are many situations that are set up for a strategic use of your minions, but it's far too easy to accidentally slip up everything into a chaotic brawl. I understand that it was a compromise they had to do lest the game would have been too complex to control with all the micromanagement, but it is a pity that some potential is lost.
  20. Capcom announces Monkey Island Wii... kidding.

A friend of mine bought Zack & Wiki this weekend and it looked totally awesome. I'm getting this someday, as soon as I've played all the other games on The List =)
  21. I'm putting my ethics on you, ruthlessly!

Oooh I still love the bit where Tom goes PFFFSSS and does the little hand wave forward.
  22. Overlord

Apparently, Overlord was on the top of the charts in Germany for a while. And I was thinking about that; are there any charts that confirm that the game performed better in Europe than in the States? For some reason, despite it broad-appeal Fable-like atmosphere, the game feels very 'European' in its sense of humour and theme. That sort of self-mocking fantasy satire. And of course, playing the bad guy is what Europeans always want to do. For the Horde! We'll leave the Alliance to you Yankees
  23. Overlord

Wow, I don't even remember him doing that. I'll check it again as soon as I've finished it.
  24. Overlord

I don't know if it's on sale everywhere. I got it for 25 Euros at a local gameshoppe that wanted to clear out its stock. Wasn't exactly a national chain thing. Still, it seems now is the time
  25. 360 in HD

No, just common sense. There's a grid on the bottom if you put it up vertically (near the motherboard, where all the problems occur). I'd rather have that out in the open instead of almost sealed with only a sliver of room. As for the scratched discs, wasn't that caused by faulty stabilizers in the drive? I have no idea what would be the better position for it, though it's a problem I associate with only the earliest releases of the system.
