Heeeeeee's back! =D

Yeah, thought as much. 50 Credits. That's not reasonable. I'm downloading.

Ohhhh dude, I remember now seeing that trailer on Gametrailers and thinking it looked so weird and bad that I really wanted to play it! If I can scoop it up for a song I'd do it. Any Ebay links?

In Europe, the lime green colour version of the DS Lite just came out, making for the sexiest machine ever created. I'm way tempted to buy it, since I've pretty much used up my old original DS (surface is getting a little scratchy, though nothing spectacular because I treat my DS like a lady, and the battery is spent after roughly three hours of play). There are some rumours about a new DS design circulating though, which Nintendo typically denies (which is saying nothing because they denied the Lite a week before its launch as well). Since no one really knows, I have to bet on it. So far the argument in my head is to just go for the Lite, because it's such a fine machine as it is. A new design would have a hard time improving on it. Rumours speak of larger screens, but that would be kind of useless because the resolution of the games won't go up, so everything will just end up blurred. Others speak of [larger] integrated memory to download stuff and even GBA games, which would be impossible to play since the GBA slot is said to be phased out. All of these new features aren't really that exciting to me, or are even a bit bothersome (no GBA slot? How will I play the Castlevanias?). So basically I just answered my own question. Thanks.

Calling BC residents! Vancouver - what's it like?
Roderick replied to Scrobbs's topic in Idle Banter
Nachimir: I guess that may be true, though I frequently visit other cities. I think not travelling a lot isn't dependent on distance, more on the mental effort of it. I usually spend my weekends in other cities though. Erkki: We are a smaaaall country. Which makes it all the more surprising how much influence we had/have. It might also explain why half the Western European countries at one time or another occupied us. Except for England. Hooray for the Brits! But I guess they felt they were too far above us continentals to bother. I think if I'd travel a bit in America, I'd start to appreciate how time-effective it is to have all the big cities within arm's reach from each other. -
I'm way too busy playing Pokemon for that!

Well, I just bought it. Lime Green DS Totally worth it, especially after the government pays me back the taxes on it.

Without a doubt the best thing I've seen all day.

I am always amazed at the enormous distances that are common for Americans and Canadians to traverse. Here in the Netherlands, 2 hours gets you from the eastern border to the sea. -
BG&E, which I played on the Gamecube. Also, I definitely had fun (and frustration) with Mario Sunshine. It's recommendable if only because it's such a weird Mario game, so out of the ordinary. Nothing quite like it, for better or worse.

Metal Gear Solid 4 - Guns of the Saucer Men From Mars
Roderick replied to Cigol's topic in Video Gaming
Being both Metal Gear neutral and a Metal Gear layman, I'm surprised to find one of the heaviest critiquers of the game to be Penny Arcade, in who's opinion I usually place some stock. According to Jerry, the game betrays its own core of stealth during the plentiful boss fights and becomes a clunky action game, and its narrative is overwrought and ambivalent. Is this honest critique or a cantankerous rave by someone who doesn't "get" Metal Gear? -
As will happen about once every year, at the moment I have a powerful lust for playing Lands of Lore: The Throne of Chaos. This time it was sparked by the memory of the bitter war between the Knowles and the Xeobs. They're two races you encounter late in the game that have nothing whatsoever to do with the plot. Each of them ask you to wipe out the other party and you have no choice but to commit genocide. I always opt to annihilate the Xeobs, because the Knowles reward you with increased magic (and I always choose the magic user Ak'shell in the beginning). But you have to admire a game that forces you to commit genocide in an unrelated obligatory quest.

Interestingly, when the crimson black version was announced a year ago I was all over it. They have it in stores as well at the moment, but for some reason... I don't like it anymore. It feels less sophisticated, ironically, than the unicolour lime green edition. I don't know, maybe I'm a bit tired of red and black, and green is refreshing and new to me. I'm glad conversation has shifted away from the cow's rectum, and onto DSes again.

Man, Brighton looks like the place to be for Thumbeteers

A real face-melter (or "Hayfever's a right b*st*rd!")

That hookworm article is amazing. I love science. -
I was gone for the weekend, but let's not let that keep me from congratulating the DanJW!

You're taking it the wrong way. You should approach Oblivion like Homer would. Omigosh there are some monsters over there OH LOOK A BUTTERFLY WHEEEE! /carts off to chase some random critter and jump on rocks

Funny episode, but rather useless so long after Oblivion's release. We all deciphered its flaws when it came out, then took a big gulp to get it down and proceeded to discover there was actually a pretty nice game in there.

Well, that was pretty obvious, flies and all But it does have a roadmovie kind of feel to it.

Congrats!

I've seen bits and pieces of Planet Earth, which was gorgeous, and I was also very much captivated by the spinoff movie Earth which ran in theatres recently. A bit toomuch emphasis on the eco message, perhaps, but beautiful footage galore

Well, after Apollo Justice I haven't played a whole lot more, I have to say. But let's face it, I've never been much of a topic-starter here. I only comment on others who dare be so brave =D

That was beautiful, thank you.
