  1. Help me leave my country!

I have been lied to by Dragonball ZEEEEE!!
  2. Help me leave my country!

I don't really know what you need to get started here in the Netherlands, but our entire society is pretty much English (we don't dub a whole lot of things like the French and Germans) and I know a fair few people who can here from abroad and stayed. Mostly through school though. It's a good country to live (even though we have a ghastly Christian government at the moment too), but again, I don't know procedures. But aren't you abandoning schip a bit too early? Maybe Obama will clear things up? I know it seems McCain has taken the lead right now, but that's more due to the Republican Convention and the newness surrounding Palin than anything else. I think people will soon prick through Palin and see her for the horrible leader and woman she really is.
  3. Oblivion

This topic is fucking dangerous right now. It reminds me I still have to pick up my Oblivion character again, who has lain dormant for months now. But there's too much to do!
  4. Movie/TV recommendations

I believe I posted earlier in this thread my appreciation of Hellboy 2 (or Garçon D'Enfer Deux, as I like to call it), so I won't repeat myself. This weekend I went to see Mummy 3, and Brendan Fraser is as always deeply charismatic and funny. Nothing spectacular, but a pleasant adventure romp. Nothing wrong with that!
  5. But I never ceased to be amused by the Gaming Fascist! Now you're not invoking Godwin's Law through the title alone anymore =( However, it's great to see that Thumbs video again. I always loved those introductions. 'Stunts is Alex Ashby' gets me every time! Wuxtry! Joker pulls boner of the year! (I miss a lot of the people. And Thumbs. And podcasts. And Stevan.)
  6. Macarena of the Missing

I think the biggest compliment I can give you is that, when I played it last night around midnight, it actually started freaking me out a bit. I kept expecting the most horrible things to pop up
  7. Macarena of the Missing

It's surprisingly tricky! Kind have gotten stuck ; But it's fun, especially the first puzzle. Can't seem to get past Seamus though!
  8. I accidentally a fleshlight (NSFW)

The great thing about this is that it's actually inherently infuriating. Even I get all excited and aggravated not knowing what it exactly is that the accidentally did Also for the randy Baptists who were too shocked to switch off the porn.
  9. Killer7

A friend just showed me this and made me play the first level. I had always intended to try it out but due to its rarity and steep price (and now, unavailability), I never got to it. Needless to say, I need to have this thing for myself now.
  10. Killer7

I found it secondhand online, for 30 Euros. It's not cheap, but the experience seems well worth it.
  11. I accidentally a fleshlight (NSFW)

I was laughing out loud when the one guy played along, aghast at the prospect of accidentally A WHOLE FLESHLIGHT!
  12. Plain Sight

Nice trailer! The concept seems interesting too; though it's unclear to me whether your objective is to score as many points as you can, or kill the competition by blowing them up (or, apparently, killing them with a ninja sword?). Visually the game works, though I'm not sure about the grey buildings. It makes it look pretty drab, where maybe another neutral colour would make it seem less like the textures aren't working. This may also be informed by my using 3D editors, where grey always stood for 'no textures applied'. Look at Mirror's Edge, which uses bright white, without making it feel like something's missing. I'm just saying; dark grey might not be the best choice. The robots are damn cute though~!
  13. Guys

Well then, spill the beans, man! You can't just hint at amazing stories about Molyneux and then not tell any of them!
  14. Guys

Peter Molyneux!! I'd REALLY like him to come over and tell me how I will love the dog
  15. Movie/TV recommendations

I had heard about it, but forgot about it. I don't know if it's been released here. I remember following it a bit online, but alas. Probably a DVD or download for me.
  16. Where is everyone?

Well, that pretty much describes a lot of desk jobs, but I guess what kills people in the game business is that they enter it with a lot of ideas and it seems like the right place for creativity. In Marek's case, I had, however, assumed it was all going swell, him being with friends in Brighton at a reasonably sympathetic company. Oh man, I don't even know where I'll end up, if anywhere. Maybe I'll just stay a freelance artist all my life. I'm just totally unfit for the salaried life.
  17. Hmm, I'm on the wall on this. On the one hand, some of them are silly, on the other hand, it seems so cheap. Like, a cheap way of being ironic. Irony used as a blunt, facile thing. Don't know if I like that.
  18. Freeze, Police!

I don't understand your post. Are you complaining? You're complaining, right? Is Toblix complaining?
  19. Let's play Castle Crashers!

My co-player got all ticked off because I kept stealing the coins when he smashed up the dudes. Good times
  20. Movie/TV recommendations

I just came back from Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, and I was pretty impressed. It feels a lot more like a true Hellboy flick than the first one (which was great too, but felt a bit subdued, a bit too pensive and brooding), though it's become quite a weird beast. First off, this is as Guillermo DelToro as it comes. Wonderful creatures, dazzling colours and sets, fantastic fairytale atmosphere... Superb. The most surprising thing is how much of a cheeseball comedy it is. There are really some amazingly ballsy, cheesy moments in the movie, which teeter on the brink of disbelief, and sometimes fall straight over the edge. Coupled with a rather abrupt, weird ending that didn't completely satisfy... it's a weird movie! But delicious to watch, eyecandy all over and an updated role for Jeffrey Tambor that seems lifted straight from Arrested Development. Weird. But awesome.
  21. Let's play Castle Crashers!

I don't have it here, but I played some Castle Crashers on work today and that was pretty fun. I only have the demo though, I expect to have the full game shortly. Probably won't play online though, sorry =(
  22. Grand Theft Auto IV

I find myself constantly pushing the camera upwards as well, to get just the right angle with which to shoot through traffic. It's kind of annoying indeed, but it's just one of the many quirks in GTA4 I've come to accept as just something it does
  23. Where is everyone?

Well, over the month of August I've been producing my graphic novel Quelle Horreur, which is now aaaaaalmost finished. It was a huge job, but I'll hold a 100 page book in my hands in a few weeks, to sell on conventions. Rermind me to start a little earlier next time, so that I'm not forced to poop out 4 pages a day That said, I'm pretty happy with how it's shaping up. I'll post something on it here when it's done. (Oh, Spaff is excellent as MR TOP GUN =D)
  24. Carpal Tunnel Syndr-ow!

I'm killing my hands now by drawing and working 24/7 for a deadline, and I find it works to occasionally dip my hands into warm water for a minute. That softens up everything. As far as prevention is concerned; the right posture is important, but moreso frequent breaks and variation in what you do. Try drinking a lot so you need to take regular pottybreaks
