  1. Hooray! My Ultraboost entry was met with deafening, awkward silence! Mission accomplished! Good podcast, folks! Loved the choose your own adventure bit at the end. For, a winner is meme, go to...
  2. I hate it when...

Back in Februari, Toblix was only just exploring his complaining abilities.
  3. jobs... why arent there any?

Marek, that cash-loaded developer wouldn't happen to be Lionhead, eh? That makes me wonder, would any of us be able to get a job there, after this: And all the other things we've pulled over the years? Are we on a Lionhead blacklist?
  4. Munchkin

Hehe, cool. When I first played Munchkin a few years back it didn't really get to me. Perhaps it was a bit hyped too much at that point and I was expecting something more grandiose than a whimsical little card game. Now, Machiavelli, there's a card game.
  5. Trine

You mean... THE WIZARD Trine looks promising! I actually assumed it was a Wii game because of the pointer, but then the good graphics might have been a bit too good to be true. The gameplay reminded me of LittleBigPlanet a little, because of the physics-based obstacles and ways of interacting with the environment.
  6. A Prince of Persia?

    That made me smile
  7. I hate it when...

    Right. Where was I?
  8. A Prince of Persia?

I could be wrong, but from what I saw he was constantly goofing around with the woman and doing all sorts of ill-fitting oneliners. And it's his accent that's so decidedly not Persian, which is weird because he's their prince and you might expect the prince of fucking Persia to actually have a Persian flair to him. But, you know. I could be wrong. Hopefully I am!
  9. A Prince of Persia?

The new Prince of Persia game looks extremely nice and I think I'd dig the atmosphere and feel of the world. For the life of me I don't understand why they made the prince 100% American though, with American oneliners and an American personality. It totally grinds with the setting and pisses on it. Perhaps it isn't that bad, but I was shocked when I discovered it in the Gametrailers review. Why on earth would they go for something that generic? I don't get the people who make this.
  10. Sonic: Unleashed

I stood openmouthed in the store, watching the intro sequence or whatever movie it is that rolls when you've been in the start up screen for a while. The speed levels look amazing. Still, playing is believing. I've never been a Sonic fan, but I do want to try this one.
  11. This is my favourite song of all time

Also amazing is how quickly he turns into a more or less civilized man and foregoes the 1000-fold longer period of him being an apelike humanoid. Goodbye homo habilis, we hardly knew ye!
  12. This is my favourite song of all time

That's amazingly depressing for a cartoon show! It would've freaked me out, had I seen it in my childhood. Crazy thing is, I DID see a lot of those 'Er Was Eens...' shows... just can't remember any Wagnerian apocalypses. So it must've been OK.
  13. This is my favourite song of all time

Of course, as far as cartoons go, nothing beats this: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=VCOU1k0EKks&feature=related When your wheels get you there, things will be alright!
  14. Wrath of the Lich King

20 Euros can get you migrated to PvE! I considered the very same thing at one point, but decided against it because I never really get ganked all the time, just on a few occasions. I don't know how things will fare once I reach the level cap. Maybe at that point it'll be hellish with the entire host of end-level characters running around in the same few areas looking for sport. I fear it already.
  15. This is my favourite song of all time

Getting back to the Pokémon soundtrack; that has a huge resonance with me too. Pokémon was an enormous part of my teenage life (16 and upwards). Even now some songs of the first soundtrack can get me teared up.
  16. 911 Call Transcripts

No, the correct UK emergency number is http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=s2Q6xbEZ-f0 Sorry =) The emergency calls are pretty shocking. Amazing the operators can stay so cool-headed.
  17. Ahahaha, you've got the 'Baffle me this!' thing in =D
  18. Rosy Rupee Land

Same sort of story here, albeit less fucked-in-the-ass-y. I saw Rosy Rupee Land being offered in Germany for only 15 Euros and wanted to buy it before I remembered that those bastards translate everything and generally don't offer English. I really want to play the game again; all I had was a five-hour playthrough for a review I did years ago and that's not enough. It's such a weird, delicious little treat.
  19. Movie/TV recommendations

It's funny, but is the writer really complaining about a serie being formulaic? The formula is awesome and has enough variety, interest and heart to keep it a fantastic show. So I don't see this thing as particularly stinging. Pooping a lung is funny though =)
  20. My word, that's amazing =D
  21. Movie/TV recommendations

I had a taste for something lighthearted a few days ago, but instead I watched Citizen Kane. When I first watched that movie, I thought it was a bit boring. Now, years later, I was fascinated throughout. Afterwards I immediately watched the 2 hour documentary about the making of, deep into the night. Good stuff.
  22. Consolevania am returned!

Season 4 second wave has started (was that always the idea? I get the feeling they just decided to do it in more episode-y style afterwards, but I really like it because of diversity and stuff) and the introduction speaks of Kenny making his triumphant return. For some reason, this excites me beyond what should be appropriate. I'll show you how it's fuckin' done!
  23. Bootleg copies on eBay

Here in the Netherlands there are a couple of concepts floating around on DVD's, trying to stimulate people not to pirate movies. Some are insulting and stupid, like a couple watching a movie on their laptop when it spontaneously bursts into flames and the woman rants sarcastically: ,,Nice eh? Watching a movie?", as if the pirated film magically destroyed the laptop. Others are actually pretty sympathetic because they're a positive message. In one of them we get a behind the scenes look into moviemaking (exagerrated) with a man cordially explaining that movie-making costs money and pirating hurts the process. Afterwards, the whole crew gives a round of applause because you bought the DVD legally. It might seem a bit corny, but I like this a lot more than the 'stern warning'. Every time I get a reminder that the FBI (yes) will fine me for 25,000 Dollars, I give a hearty chuckle.
  24. Kinetic typography in games

Oh man, my head literally exploded upon learning of it. I was cleaning up chunks of my head hours later with my decapitated body.
  25. Kinetic typography in games

Didn't the cellshaded shooter XIII also do something like that; having sound effects appear on screen? It's an interesting topic; always fun to see how title sequences change. On a somewhat related note, I'm so happy that movie trailers are slowly abondoning their horrible cliches where they HAD to have movie trailer guy utter stupid oneliners that are supposed to be exciting. It's so much more awesome when a trailer does something original, even without text and just uses music and editing to create the right tone.
