I can't wait to encounter Donkey Lady!! I'll be very disappointed if I don't come across it

This thread is closed when we say it is. So, how is everyone?

You're such a swell guy, Toblix

Yessss, managed to buy it yesterday and play it a couple of hours. My first impression was one of mild disappointment though. Graphically the game doesn't achieve the richness of, say, Assassin's Creed 2 and environments (especially interiors) can often be a little sparse. Worse is that the game does a terrible job at explaining its mechanics to you. Four hours in and I still have no clue what the fuck is going on with my fame, honor, bounty and quests. (When) does the game save automatically? How the hell does duelling work? It's quite a hassle to pierce through all these things. But, I get a feeling that once you do, you're rewarded with a one-of-a-kind experience. Besides, I'm having major fun making the wildlife go extinct, so there's plenty of incentive to learn.

I don't know if the explicit idea is widespread, but it is easy to see that it is inferred by our every depiction of a relationship in fiction. Come to think of it, it's a depressing thought how many insane, aweful, unrealistic things are inferred by fiction.

14/16! I have good wizard-senses.

,,Catchphrase and wigs, and the jokes are lame! He's got no style and he's got no grace, he's banal and facile, he's a fat waste of space!"

Nachimir, I think you have the right idea about relationships: just because they end, doesn't mean they have no value. Similar experience here: Last year me and my girlfriend broke up after a year because I was in the States for some time. Despite some sadness, the overwhelming emotion about the relationship was one of joy, as it had been a full year of wonderful partnership. There's nothing wrong with things ending, that's only natural. Might be sad, but it doesn't have to necessarily spoil the journey

Torrente 3 is legendary because of the great review Consolevania gave the game adaptation. Must-see: S91dupQudvU

Fantastic find, Stevan. Highly disturbing and touching.

So, yeah. Some of the oldtimers here will remember that I had a webcomic years back called Captain August, which I shamefully put in the freezer two years ago. It's back now though! From this day forward, every Wednesday and Saturday you can once again read the weird sci-fi/pirate adventures of the good captain on http://www.captainaugust.com. It may be something for you lot. you're all a bunch of crazies anyway
-
And you could once again! If the present episode is a bit confounding: Saturday a new arc starts, which should be awesome.

Patters: fantastic I love how extra macabre the song is when sung by a children's choir.

Last chance, how so? Is the festival quitting?
-
Hopefully within a few years there'll be another Captain August book next to that one, approximately 4 times bigger =)

Kindle, and other e-readers that work with e-ink technology, might not give you that problem. It's more like looking at paper than at a screen. I am super-psyched to get an e-reader, but not right now. As it is, the technology of e-readers is still too slow and budding. I want it to be faster, more versatile and less rigidly protected against, for instance, home-made PDF's. The business model stinks on all sides: e-books are almost always the same price as regular books, which is bullshit because there are zero production costs. Some e-readers put you in a vice, whereby they only accept one proprietary form of PDF or won't let you 'own' the PDF in the first place, keeping it on their servers. This is all besides the insane cost of the thing. When all these matters are dealt with in a few years, and the 'format wars' are over (it's risky betting on any one of them now), I'll get one.

The Idle Thumbs Podcast Episode 7: Remember the Airfield
Roderick replied to Sombre's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Bad games that have spawned memes, that can meme only one thing (yes, that's right I just did that): Limbo of the Lost. Take it away, Idle Thumbs. -
I really missed the inventive puzzles of the first game in the second. It seemed so much less clever. Near the end of it, the bonus optional puzzles seemed especially lame. I finished every single puzzle in 1, but couldn't bother with 2 at all Hopefully the third game will be a return to form.

I have a silly bet with someone that the Starcraft 2 campaigns (Terran, Zerg, Protoss) will be released about a year from each other. So the Zerg campaign will arrive Spring 2011. I think Blizzard won't release another one after, say, six months again. That's just too soon for a game that has such a long attention-curve. Besides, somewhere within that timeframe Cataclysm is coming out and when did you ever hear of Blizzard pushing out multiple big releases within the span of a few months? My chances of winning a bunch of egg rolls are pretty, pretty good

Miffy! Send that shit to me as well!

Roger Ebert rehashes old debate even indie hipsters are tired of
Roderick replied to Forbin's topic in Video Gaming
Right, sorry for ignoring this topic for a few days, but I've been milling it around in my head and I've come to the decision that I really like your definition, Stevan. I'm no longer of the opinion that art doesn't exist, though it does remain a vague and often hard to decipher thing. The definition is a great one though and at the very least unveils the difference between art and... not-art. So, good job.
