  1. Monkey Island 2: SE

I saw this trailer with 3D in it that looked smashing
  2. Life

Cool dogs, Kingzy. And Nachimir, that's great, learning all those new things. It's important to keep learning new stuff, I try to do it as much as possible.
  3. You can't give Citizen Kane a 7, just ask Roger Ebert.
  4. Snoogle, your remixes are so appreciated
  5. Good pod, gentlefolk. I've just listened to the catalogue of songs Remo did over the years (yes, by now it's years, which is terrifiying). They really grow on you, especially the more subtle ones like the Ballad of John Riccitiello. Cool sig by the way, Thompson.
  6. Portal 2

The interview with Eric Wolpaw was very good to assuage my fears of them retreading old, tired memes. I am also very pleased with the 7-hour singleplayer. The first Portal ran about 3-4 hours if memory serves. Curious how Deathmatch Portal would play.

I also agree with you on Iron Man 2. Man, I wanna see The A-Team again! (And the original series, gonna pop it in tonight)
  8. Life

Here's a fleeting thought: how would it be to immigrate to Singapore?
  9. Movie/TV recommendations

Who would've thought that The A-Team was actually pretty fun?! It stayed very true to the characters and was good, silly fun. Especially on thinking back to it, I really enjoyed myself in the cinema.
  10. Portal 2

It's become a little like de Blob! =) Seriously though. It looks very good, but I DO fear a little that the whole Portal universe, with GlaDOS and that typical humor, is going to outstay its welcome with this sequel. Just imagine the end credits once again being a funny song sung by GlaDOS like Still Alive... except it wouldn't be at all the delightful surprise it was back then, but part of the formula. I shudder! =(
  11. E3: The Keynotes

The Nintendo conf was great, though I wasn't all too enthused by Zelda. Just looked bland and silly. All the rest was good though, the new Kirby, Kid Icarus, Donkey Kong and Epic Mickey look great. And the 3DS is so sexy! I have to have one, can't wait to see how the 3D effect looks! Now I'm off to watch the Sony conf, which I missed.
  12. Rayman Origins

It looks fantastic! A true spark of devious fun.
  13. E3: The Keynotes

Gaming is dead. You heard it here first.
  14. E3: The Keynotes

That was the most hilariously awful conference in a loooong time. The only cool thing was the dance game, and I was somewhat taken in by the baby tiger game. Everything else was freaking awful. Just... awful.
  15. Life

Yesterday, I played Gears of War, followed by reading War and Peace. Suddenly I realized that I had been experiencing that most elusive of contents: Gears of War and Peace
  16. Movie/TV recommendations

I didn't find it obnoxious. And wherever it would tend to get a little pretentious, I'd just remember the godawful wankfest that was Zach Braff's Garden State and get things into perspective.
  17. Movie/TV recommendations

You're right, I un-spoilerized it =) I'm just really careful with these things. Youth in Revolt might be the sort of movie that if it's too hyped, you start expecting things that won't be there, because it's such an understated, funny film.
  18. Movie/TV recommendations

I watched Youth in Revolt yesterday. It was great! Finally, a teenage romance that is neither stupid and awkward (Kick-Ass particularly springs to mind as a recent, horrible example) nor stupid and jockish like so many guffawing American Pie rip-offs. Instead it's believable, funny and sympathetic. That's a great foundation for any movie. What makes Youth in Revolt special is that on top of that there's a rollicking comedy. Michael Cera proves he is by no means running out of steam. What a great role! His alter ego, François Dillinger, is hilarious It's a smart, funny little movie with genuine heart.
  19. Scott Pilgrim [video game]

I knew I recognized the art style. It's by these guys: http://visublog.mechafetus.com/. They were the ones that made this insaaaaane pixel art movie a few years back, lemme see if I can Youtube it... FSdoDjcI5VE
  20. Red Dead Redemption

    True!
  21. Back to the Future

Toonstruck was and remains fantastic. A Back to the Future game should, like Mike said, be like Majora's Mask where you can travel back and forth to change little things, while the whole world has a set routine of events. I mean, sure, the setting could work as an adventure, but then you wouldn't truly be exploring the experience of travelling through time on a grand scale. It'd just be like any other story. So, I'm hopeful, but also sad when I consider it's probably not going to be like I described.
  22. Emergent Gameplay

Your avatar was all we ever needed to love you.
  23. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

Fantastic... what's that music from? It's typical John Williams fare, but I need to know which movie.
