So I bought Magicka today and then I played and then I died and I fell off a cliff and electrocuted myself and then there was a Star Wars reference and then I drowned and then there was a beholder but not a beholder and there were partying wizards and I smiled.

I just came back from The Eagle, with Tatum Channing (or the other way around, I forget). It's funny how a strong, promising opening to a movie you know little about can really hurt the experience in the long run. The Eagle starts with a very introspective, personal, gritty, realistic depiction of life in a Roman garrison. You think; this could be the start of a 'The Fountain'-esque movie filled with crushing doubts, personal growth, set against the muddy and beautiful backdrop of year naught Britain. It's quite unfortunate then that the second act moves away from this and becomes what basically amounts to a remake of King Arthur from 2004. The insult is complete when at the end

All's fair in the fight against the Marxists.

What they do have is spectral blade; improved spectral blade. And a magic missile so devastating, you'll regret ever crossing paths with this rebellious foe.

Let's not forget the original Wizard. Wizards. Plural, and female.

New topic: what gaming featuring the best wizard did you quit? Err... I can't think of any either.

An exciting message, from an impeccable source.

I've been keeping an eye on Catherine for a couple of months now, and I still don't know what the hell it's about. I know it's: Japanese; weird; platformy/blockpuzzley?; also adult.

Good point! I wouldn't like to see the Australian news guy whacking an intruder off with his golf club. Sounds painful.

The final bit of GTA4 and the abandoned hospital gave me the worst headaches. My favorite standout moment in the game was killing the lawyer in his office. I did so with a snazzy suit on and used mainly the shotgun to blast my way out, so it felt very cinematic.

Just man up and accept that the guy has invented a perpetuum mobile.

That reminded me about playing Final Fantasy 7 a few years back for the first time ever. Obviously the game had been hyped a lot, so I expected kind of a big deal. Imagine my surprise. I even gave it a fair shot, I put a good 30-40 hours into it. Then I simply noticed I hadn't been enjoying the game for the past 20-odd hours, shrugged my shoulders and left. Since then I've been proclaiming rather publically that the JRPG genre is fucking boring, stunted and nonsensical.

(Unconfirmed)Telltale tackles.. KING'S QUEST?
Roderick replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Video Gaming
I doubt with extreme seriousness that a new King's Quest game will revert back to old gameplay mechanics. i.e., Yes, it will be specifically a 'Telltale' game. I was never a King's Quest player, but I enjoyed casually strolling through 7. -
As a spectator to some Marvel vs Capcom battles, I can safely say it gives me headaches with all the stuff going on in the screen. Honestly, what the hell is going on there?

Two examples spring to mind. The first one is Fallout 3, which I recently quit because I didn't care enough about it. The second one is way more painful: Outcast. I played it twice all the way to same point, the forests of Okaar (this is quite far into the game). The game would always present me that game-breaking bug there where it became impossible to proceed because some object wouldn't spawn, or I forget what it was. I never bothered to simply download the save-game that was available to bypass it. So I never finished Outcast. Damn. I should probably do it one it.

Apart from an all-night marathon of Invader Zim, one playing Hero Quest and one playing H-L: Episode 2 with a friend, I always sleep at night. It's a funny feeling to skip a night, quite interesting.

The Marxists? Where in the whole of goddamn Europe...? I love how he glosses over France and Germany with meaningful gestures, without actually saying anything. France is 'burning' (I wasn't aware) and now Germany, one of Europe's strongest economies, will burn too? I guess we'll prepare for the mediterranean caliphate, then. I liked Glenn Beck better when he was just doing crazy things with close-ups of his eyes because 'we're not looking into each other's eyes anymore'.

Yes. I'm gonna do that. No more Skyrim teasers and trailers for me Or perhaps only the official ones!

Hey, you weren't there. At the time, that was pretty funny. In the same vein, anyone remember the Logic Factory's last game, The Tone Rebellion (which was awesome btw)? Every other word in that game was 'tone'. Tone this, tone that. You harvest tone, and contruct tone stuffs. Quite astoneishing. @ Errki: I'm afraid the writing isn't going to magically improve itself. I'm sure these guys are capable modders and such, but it takes a different skill to write something worthwhile. As for new areas, that might be added later on. Who knows?

I am horribly torn between wanting to know everything about Skyrim and wanting to know nothing about Skyrim. Someone knock me out until November.

I have filled in the questionnaire about Pax UK. Amusingly, when prodded for my age I unhesitatingly put down 23, a cool four years off the mark. I guess in my head I'm still 23
