That wasn't an option since it's a stupid prepaid credit card, but I could have lowered the amount manually before the thing ended. So no Kickstarter money for, but I feel bad about it so can I donate something using Paypal or something? I feel like a goddamn third-rate Thumbs now.

Three Moves Ahead joins Idle Thumbs
Roderick replied to Roderick's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
I'd be interested to hear them speak about Hero Academy too, though I think the game is a little on the light side for them. To be sure, there's a lot of tactics in Hero Academy, but it doesn't run infinitely deep. Which, to me, is part of the charm (playing by the seat of your pants is a valid option), but for them might be less so. -
I've hit a snag(gletooth) with my payment! Probably because of the Double Fine thing my temporary credit card bounced. Amazon now asks that I enter another credit card (which I don't have), but I just want to lower the pledged amount (from 11,45 to 10, hopefully enabling me to pay). I can't find that option though, as the Kickstarter is already closed.

Very cool! Did he sprinkle magic fairy dust on you?

Yeah, Immortals was pretty bad. Currently in theatres, I can vouch for Chronicle. A surprisingly fine movie that knows how to build up its momentum very deliberately.

Twmac, you made me double-post this thiiiiiing because you didn't put it in the right forum. So here's my post and then a nice admin can move this topic and delete mine! -- So, I just read the press release at the front of the site about Three Moves Ahead becoming part of the 'Idle Thumbs family' and I'm entirely happy about that. 3MA is the only other podcast I regularly listen to, as it's filled with deep insights into strategy gaming. I might not play those games a lot myself, but it's such fun listening to it.

Congrats! I hope it all works out for you!

That's disappointing, especially since he's half-Dutch. I expect better from my countrymen! Any specifics on what happened?

Many waffles and fries with non-sweet mayonnaise for you, Orv!

The thing about death that I've noticed in my very limited experience with it, of watching my grandfather die in his bed, is that it is a strange thing. It can span the full breadth of human emotion. Death can be poignant, excruciating, tragic, timely, merciful, embarrassing and/or even comical, all at once or after another. Death, like life, cannot be captured in easy Hollywood moments and phrases. It is a bizarre, incommunicable thing and almost impossible to direct or judge.

I'm curious to the pricing and excited that I may get a chance to play this classic, finally.
-
Well, that spanned a lot of genres!

Now I understand that weird, Thumb-shaped microphone I found in the lampshade.

Can't believe this isn't here yet. The unmitigated glory of Batman & Robin, in musical form. 0pNY2Krf3Rw Batmayayan, you son of a biyiyiyitch

It was obvious that the wife in no way wanted this, but had resigned herself to it. There was on all accounts a tremendous amount of 'stiff upper lip' on display, with both wife and husband really trying to keep it together. I get the feeling the husband acted so determined because he had to, if he wavered it would all have fallen to pieces. However, it's dangerous to try reading too much of anything in their behavior: we don't know what their relationship was like and we weren't actually there. Edited film can be very deceiving, so I'll trust the judgment of Pratchett, who was there for the whole thing. (That's not to say the water thing didn't freak me out a little too, and the hug he got should have been from his wife, not the Swiss lady. If I went, I'd much prefer actual euthanasia with a doctor putting me in a coma and then applying the poison. This was of course assisted suicide, which is very different, but also a little creepy with a toxic draught, an actual cup of poison, Socrates-style.)

I just watched it online and it is rather emotionally distressing. But it is the good kind, there is a profundity to it. I wouldn't hold out watching it for fear of being shaken. If anything, it might dispel some of one's fears of assisted dying by looking at it closely and humanely.

It goes without saying I'm in favor of euthanasia. Man is master of his own destiny.

'When' you kill yourself? I hope that's 'if'!
-
Inevitable, probably, but it's a pretty dickish move. Why would you give money to a project and then try to sabotage it?

So we did! Hehe. L'histoire se répète!

Haha, so you did!

I hope it holds out on you, at least until the next Xbox arrives

Cyber Lip: My Little Pony or porn star?

This is terrible =( The PC version will probably take a year longer to appear, though.
