YES! BRO!

Happy year of the snake! I just read an article about the amazing Chinese high speed train that goes all the way from Beijing to Guangzhou. Great story in the NRC (Dutch newspaper). The train was apparently made with maffia corruption at its core, but the thing is also a technical marvel, state of the art, luxury train travel.

Heyo those comparison shots between the character models of ACII and Revelations are extraordinary. I already intuited that there was a huge difference (I said as much in the discussions on Brotherhood and Revelations), but seeing it literally face to face is a shock. What an improvement, within the same generation (and engine)!

The Wipe episode was good, and then at 17:15 it became great as it used the same stock music Toonstruck used. But that may just be me.

Only ever fainted when I was young and bumped my head. But I have experienced what Gormongous described, which is a state of shock. I don't know if that preludes fainting though, with me that's just when my body goes into shock after experiencing acute, sharp pain (once inside my ear when having it cleaned at the doctor's, once at the dentist's which was very annoying). Tunnel vision, static noise in my eye, bloodless face. Wears off after a few minutes, no biggie.

Could you check which class it is? Should be on the card somewhere.
-
Is the class/speed of SD cards of importance for the 3DS, for loading times of games, or useful only for the icons in the system menu? The standard SD card in the 3DS is class 4 I believe, but it goes up to 10.

Is the jumpy dialogue cam perhaps inspired by Outcast's, that would pick cinematic angles at random?

Osmosisch; gefeliciflapstaart and if Hanna's going to be anything as cute as your other daughter you'll have a pair of wonderful children!

The comparison between Steam and consoles doesn't hold water on an equal basis, but it is one people including me are making. I think it's not just the devil you know: Steam has always been Steam, whereas the next Xbox (and Playstation) will come with significantly downgraded features. This is about expectations. Hey, on my previous Xbox I could buy second hand games or resell my games, and I was never online. Now I can't and have to be? It doesn't matter that Steam always did sort of the same thing; Steam was never any different and isn't asking me to spend hundreds of European money for the privilege. Having said all of this, I am still very interested in seeing the new consoles roll out, I'll follow the events and E3 closely and allow myself every leeway to get swept away regardless of previous impressions. Chances enough will be given! But they'll have to earn it this time around, or I'm leaving the console arena for a cool generation. Sno, I'm pretty up to date on most crappy Xbox games, but you are always welcome to PM me some must haves. My library's quite extensive already though! Check my http://backloggery.com/heerrood for the list.

Damn it, but computers have become really complicated

My word. After about three years of nonstop use, my laptop had become quite loud and warm. I thought it was nearing its end, until my mom walks in and performs a trick she used on her own laptop: she vacuums the whole thing, specifically the vents. I don't know if that's super bad for the hardware, but right away my laptop is super silent and cool again. Can anyone confirm whether this was the appropriate thing to do? It appears to work like goddamn magic. -
A young Han Solo film is almost what Plinkett predicted to drive the last nail into the Star Wars franchise. To reiterate his point: Solo has a perfect, encapsulated story arc in the original films (provided he shoots first). His story before this point (how did he meet Chewy? My, what an unmissable tale that will be) is completely irrelevant. A Boba Fett film, I can see. That was an interesting side character that brought some flavor, but didn't have any arc of his own. So, there's grounds there for some exposition. I mean, apart from the extremely important events of his youth on Kamino, of course.

Toblix, it's endearing how you keep throwing yourself against the cliffs in an effort to legitimately watch stuff, only to encounter time and time again how awful the official services are.

This may change as soon as the hype machine pulls in, but the more I read about this, the likelier it is I'll just go PC only and invest in upgrading my desktop. Steam seems so much more forward-thinking than anything Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo are throwing at us. (Possible caveat: Steambox.) I just got a new Xbox 360 that should see plenty of use for the years to come, and there are TONS of games I haven't played yet. And most of the important stuff ends up on Steam anyway. Really now.

This being Nintendo, I'd have thought the process would be a lot more arduous. I've searched a bit and am pretty interested now: apparently the 3DS supports cards up to 32GB, more than enough for its entire lifespan. If I can get a cheap card I might just migrate - I won't even have to swap out cards and data in between games or anything.

One of the great Dutch successes in gaming. Will look with interest at how this pans out. I never got into Age of Wonders as much as Heroes of Might & Magic, but this could well be the one.

I for one am glad to see we managed to bully you into compliance.

This used to be a good community, when SpeedyDesiato was still here. Now it's just a bunch of asses. I'm out, please delete my account.

Nothing I write could top that, well Han.

Dennou Coil is lovely and, surprising for an anime show, actually has a well thought-out structure and proper ending.

I'm sort of concerned about all the eShop full game downloads: Virtue's Last Reward already ate up half of the memory on my machine. Do I need to start swapping out memory cards if I want to download more than two big games? It's kind of a drag that makes me think I should wait for a physical copy.

It looks brilliantly. It's not out in Europe yet, is it? I've got the GBA Fire Emblem still waiting on my 3DS (ambassador program), but might just skip it altogether and get this new shiny one.

Fixed.
