Banana fun facttm: up until the 1950s the main banana type was the Gros Michel. That strain of banana proved susceptical to fungus and was nearly wiped out. It still survives, but is no longer found in most parts of the world. The bananas we eat today are the familiar Cavendish type, which has a completely different flavor. Isn't a strange that there's this whole article of fruit that we'll never taste, lost to us? I stand corrected, this was a Banana sad facttm.

I find that speaking my thoughts out greatly elucidates them. Whenever I have to dream up new ideas, stories or social interactions, I'll talk out loud to myself while going for a walk. I'm sure it looks insane from the outside, but it's an invaluable way to organise my mind. To the point where I automatically start talking when I need to think. Deliberately shutting up seems to halt the thinking instantly, sometimes. That scares me now and again, like, if I restrict my thoughts to the tempo in which I speak, aren't I hamstringing myself? Thoughts are so much faster than words, so it could become a bottleneck. But then I'm never shy of ideas, so I think I'm super OK.

If this means a stable release schedule of HobLob, I'm for it. But, you know, you don't have to take the jump totally. Working part time might be a good solution, and then you can ease yourself into the danger layer. Having exactly one month to sort things out is a burden you don't want to take on.

It would be INCREDIBLE if you played the role completely straight and subtle, without any winking & mugging.

Star Trek went down so smooth that you hardly noticed it was there. I hope Star Trek Into Darkness (pretty good title btw) is a tougher pill to swallow.

There better be a goddamn dick joke in there! -
Ah, but do you get to say "I've got a plan, and it's as HOT as my PANTS! Woof!" ?

It's an interesting choice you have to make as a parent. Here's an obviously way skewed example from real life, a mother who lets her children eat only raw vegetables: http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rauw_en_Rauwer I don't think it would make a lot of difference, ethically, if you raised your kids as vegetarians or not. As long as the health of the child isn't in danger, there is no moral conclusion to be had, one eating style over the other. I do wonder though; do you talk to them about not eating meat yourself? Do they notice it, and ask questions?

Beautiful! That seat is made from a whale's tongue.

Osmosisch, I've got a question for you. You just explained you are a vegetarian. I'm curious, do you raise your kids as vegetarians? If so, or if not, what's your reasoning?

Can we have the last ten seconds of the podcast on Youtube as an inspiration Zombo.com thing? Great episode, gang, enjoyed the talks about Monaco, Neptune's Pride and your crazy new intern? You have an intern? How did that happen? How big is Idle Thumbs Industries nowadays? -
I find that if I just go to bed at a reasonable time, the work is magically done the next morning.

Red Dead Redemption was enormous, but the feeling of loneliness and survival in a jackal-infested prairy was part of the appeal. In contrast, the enormous sprawl in LA Noire made me feel hollow and unsatisfied. Contrast that to the excellent, constrained small size of Arkham City, that was bursting with things to on a relatively small scrap of land.

Idle Thumbs 103: A Person-Shaped Thing is a Person

HE'S WEARING GLOVES FOR THE UNBOXING CEREMONY! Why didn't they just cut out the awkward silences at the start? No reason other than to troll Iwata. Face chop! -

The Stalking Head is being a troll, maybe for comedy purposes, but it seems a little off in this thread. Anyway, Pikmin 3 is definitely a mature title, but can there be any doubt that this system is just waiting, waiting with baited breath, for the next Mario from Team Galaxy? If they pull off another 'Galaxy', as in, a redefining platform experience, then even with that single game, they've got it. Viability, redemption, worth, the works. -

It might be that GTA3 was still so much about experimenting with the world that they had to refine it for GTA4. When San Andreas came out, Rockstar probably knew a lot better where they were going with it, so this time stuff might not change as much. Just wild thoughts, though, nothing I know.

Isn't that Gilette? ... and, yes it is. For the record, I use Mach 3. I'm a Mach 3 man.

It does seem to err on the wrong side of tropey. The middle-aged gangster with a therapist is a huge cliché too, but also a fun sort of thing. A black gang-banger doesn't seem quite as exciting.

The Netherlands are very vegetarian-friendly, Germany already less so. The Germans loooooove their meat. Seriously, looking at supermarket folders is the most heinous/hilarious thing, as you get page after page of what can only be described as 'meat porn': http://www.kaufda.de/Prospekt/Reinbek/dodenhof-GeniesserWelt/405157517#page%3D2
