Wow, and your emigrating on top of that. Very exciting! Once you're up and running in Amsterdam, I might drop by, could be fun!

  3. Life

Waitaminute, you're going to start a video game studio (office?) in Amsterdam? Tell me more.

I just finished 3DS eShop title Gunman Clive on hard mode. What a delightful little platformer! It cost a mere 2 euros, I finished it in a single hour, and it was a good experience. Recommended as a fun platforming diversion.

Now hold on a minute. The first season of The IT Crowd had the inimitable Chris Morris. Much as a love Matt Barry, he didn't live up to the legacy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGFGD5pj03M

Then, sweating profusely from the act, you looked into the camera and the picture that is your avatar was taken.
  8. Nextbox 1080: The Reckoning

Yeah, I wonder if Microsoft or any of the other companies realize that when Europeans or anyone outside the US hear about 'tv' stuff, we just immediately blank out, because it won't be applicable to us anyway. It's such an America-centric thing, it has never panned out into anything outside the US, is my guess. I wonder how successful it must be for them to continue pouncing on this idea of delivering tv features with their console? Which is just inherently strange to me anyway. Every single tv ever made has already been geared towards providing you with access to television broadcasts. I don't even understand why it should mean so much to anyone that there's a special new box to do what literally every tv already does. What the hell am I missing? What is it that is so special about Xbox or PSwhatever or Nintendo offering tv? From the get-go, it sounded like the lamest thing, but years after they're still hammering on this as if it's the ultimate expression of their hardware; or some luxurious, ne'er-before-seen service.

I think in a weird way, maybe Animal Crossing? Even though your neighbours aren't strictly pets, the idea of that game is that you come back to it every day over an extended period of time, and it'll always be there for you, without all too much of a gameplay goal beyond that.

For the magic trick of making the term 'magical' sexy, blame Apple. They started the Magical thing. Of course, we as wizards are all about things being magical.

Hey kids, wanna buy an expensive box that's marginally less OK than most PC's and doesn't have any library of games to speak of? In that case, boy howdy, do I have a thing for you...!
  12. Games giveaway

I have a Steam coupon for 75% off the amazing Shogun 2. PM me if you're interested.

I saw the Xbox One. It's not very good looking. Where are the subtle curves that defined the 360? I loved the 360 and the bold new color they had. Now it's back to a giant black oblong.

I had a wedding today and I totally missed it. Not the reveal of course, but the Steam chat. Obv.

I can do a chillingly authentic version of Chewbacca. OK, I just roll around an R in my throat.
  16. Weird Medical Shit

I can't pluck out my eye because there's this huge plank in it which prevents me from truly reaching in there. Ironically, there's a tiny hole in the plank that allows me the see the splinters in other people's eyes. This life is weird.

Why aren't they doing a super handy countdown on the site? Lemme see if I can be online for the event, somewhere on Steam, right?
  18. Movie/TV recommendations

Oh man, I don't even know what's happening on that cover. The thinking must've gone as follows: Sean Connery played in the movie The Rock, so that could easily be mixed up with Dwayne Johnson, but then it wouldn't be complete without getting the name wrong. Sean Connery vs The Cock.

Interesting. Despite having very little interest in racing gams, Forze Horizon took my interest en I played it for dozens of hours. I thought it was a neat arcadey/roaming racer. It exuded that 'Midtown Madness' vibe of just cruising along and driving for driving's sake, in a beautiful autumn Colorado environment.
  20. Weird Medical Shit

Isn't that true for everyone? I thought that was a universal discrepancy in all humans. I've got it too. Plus, occasionally, the weird tonsil stuff, though they're never hard or large. I don't have bad breath, so I guess for me at least it's just a thing that sometimes happens and has no ramifications.

You had to rip open the Sunshine wound... Those ninety minutes were glorious, just glorious. Then... not so much.

    Fruitists. They are not well.
  23. Super Metroid Appreciation Station

Last year I played and beat for the first time the original Metroid, aided by the save feature on the 3DS. It was _incredible_ and I'm hoping to be able to play Super Metroid on the 3DS too some day. I've never played it myself, but have watched a friend play it for hours and hours. It was so atmospheric and beautiful; a pleasure just to watch.
