  1. Everyone will so hate me and want me banned and stuff for turning this topic to something they don't want it to become just beacuse I can't keep my big mouth shut, but maybe the situation would be different if the stores were actually sure that people would go out and buy the games instead of, oh I don't know, download them... Sorry, just had to say it, please forget everything in this post. Here's a gun, if you want to shoot me, go ahead.
  2. The Future of adventure games?

Okay, I'll be a little more careful when naming topics in the future. Just for the record, Broken Sword actually exists on the Game Boy Advance...
  3. The Sims 2

Man, the community lots in TS2 are a joke. I can't even build restaurants. Only clothes shops, food shops and magazine shops. And parks, maybe, but those doesn't count. Talk about "Leaving it open for expansion packs", eh?
  4. Completely agree. I mean, come on, we've obviously got some people who disturbingly enough honestly seems to want this guy as a leader. Are we just gonna ignore them? Or are we gonna tell them why they're wrong? You can't just ignore bank robbers and say "Hey! If we ignore them, maybe they'll quit!". That's not how they work! And it's the same thing with everything else! EDIT: Oh, and doesn't germany have the strongest anti-nazi-laws in the world today? Then how can this political party exist?
  5. Evil Genius Vs. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War

    No contest. Evil Genius.
  6. Knights of Honor

Yeah, I agree, this game looks kinda interesting. Reminds me about Europa Universalis. Though the Knight system sounds a little odd... Kinda like Governors in Civilization, but here, you actually choose a governor instead of tell him what to do. Guess it's more realistic, it might restrict freedom a little, but it certainly uppers the strategy level. Yeah, I'm keeping an eye on this.
  7. Can you work without music?

I don't listen much to music at all, so it's quite a chocking change if someone starts to play Beethoven or something when I'm trying to read. I really can't stand it. Speaking of nothing, people really have no respect for Midi these days. Everyone's like "Oh, MP3, Great!!!". Then I show them some Midi file, and they're like "Oh, Midi, ungood, sadness...". Not true! You can do amazing things with Midi, if you're skilled! Look at VGmusic.com. Specifically check out the Lemmings medley by Xky Rauh and Gerudo Valley remix number 3 by Andrew Estrada. No, it's not a coincidence that those two are my favorite games, why do you ask? Just wanted to say that.
  8. Locomotion demo out.

Okay, so I buy the game, despite the demo not working, just beacuse I trust Chris Sawyer's genius. Not too surprisingly, the game doesn't work either. Super-angryness follows, where I smash chairs and walls and throws sticks at random bypassers. Then I download the old drivers for my graphics card, and everything works fine. And what did I get when I bought Locomotion? I got Transport Tycoon, but with worse graphics. The new building mechanism borrowed from Roller Coaster Tycoon may work semi-good when building train stuff, but is awful when building roads or large segments of anything. Instead of just clicking, moving mouse, and release, I now have to click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click. Maybe it's good for doing fine-adjustments, or when many tracks need to be coordinated or something, but how often do you do fine-adjustments in a game like this? Maybe when you build rollercoasters, but not nearly as often here. A little disappointed. Not that this is a bad game, however! But if you already got Transport Tycoon, then maybe you should be happy with what you've got.
  9. Locomotion demo out.

Okay, I tried the demo, and my computer crashed. Something's weird over here.
  10. Holiday snaps from Italy

    This reminds me about Myst.
  11. Wanted: Game Girl

It feels like we're just trying to joke away Ben's request here. I think we should continue.
  12. Math problem

Uh, yeah, I kinda need help with a math problem. Listen closely now... Let's say we have a number, 0.999999.... and so on, with an infinite number of nines. Let's call that number X. X=0.99999... If we multiply that by ten.... 10X=9.999999999... With me so far? Okay... now take 10X minus X. 10X-X=9X=9.99999....-0.9999999....=9 9X=9 X=1 But that's not true! We earlier said that X=0.99999....! That means that 1=0.99999999........., which we know isn't true! Where have I done wrong?
  13. Tropico

I've been trying to get a copy of Tropico recently, for the same reasons as you (Evil!!), but failed miserably, so I decided to purchase Space Colony instead. And one thing I'm very happy about is that all these games manages to somewhat stay away from the normal "citybuildingboringness" of similar "tycoon-wannabes". They all have something new and fresh and exciting in them, which makes them good. Oh, about your question, sorry. But here's a semi-good site that may or may not help you.
  14. Creepy.

Oh, I love this world! HA!
  15. Math problem

    Neat! Thanks!
  16. Math problem

I find it hard to grasp the concept "Infinity times ten is more than infinity times one", but I guess it's the only explanation. Thanks.
  17. Math problem

Yeah, I agree that you cannot use normal mathematics on infinity. But we haven't got infinity! We just have an infinite number of decimals! It's not the same thing. And we know that the first decimal in both number is always nine, the second one is always nine, we know that all decimals are identical in the both numbers, and the same number minus the same number equals zero. Infinity minus infinity doesn't equal zero, beacuse normal mathematics doesn't work with infinity. But we haven't got infinity! ...no... No I don't think so, they both have an infinite number of decimals. If we multiply pi by ten, we get 31.41.... but we still have an infinite number of decimals, not one less in Pi times ten. And likewise, Ryam, if you take Pi minus Pi, you should definately get zero, beacuse they're the same number, even though they both have an infinite number of decimals. This is tricky...
  18. I SO want a keyboard that actually does write IDLETHUMBS that easily.
  19. Locomotion demo out.

What worries me about this game is that it won't be to different from the original Transport Tycoon. I mean, I still got that game, I can still play it, why should I buy this instead? All right, all right, I'll donwload the demo before I'll whine, then....
  20. I can't really comment on this one. It's so obvious.
  21. Fable gone gold

I really think game length is a matter of personal taste. But I agree, if a game is supposed to feel epic, then I don't want to able to complete it in two days, but I suppose there are always exceptions, like games with really good storys or awesome gameplay/replay value.
  22. The Corporation

True, but we can never completely force away corruption. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't try our best! What I guess I'm trying to say is that there's a difference beetwen democracy and democracy.
  23. The Corporation

European here. I suppose noone knows wether or not they show it in Sweden? Speaking of nothing, communism doesn't work, beacuse the leaders will get corrupted, and capitalism doesn't work, beacuse there those with money are the "leaders" who gets corrupted. Humans cannot create the perfect society, simply beacuse they're humans! "Democracy isn't good, but it's the best thing we have right now." Said by that british world war two guy, I think. So true.
  24. Fable gone gold

I agree that Lionhead made a good decision when trying to do something different, but I still don't think they managed to make a good game. Perhaps they lived up to the hype you mentioned, but did they manage to make it fun? Peter once said in an interview that "In Black and White, you'll control a really big hand, and you can do anything that a really big hand can do." (or something like that...) Yeah, true, but it wasn't really fun being a big hand...
