What happens now?

I'm waiting for the PC release since I don't have (and don't intend to get) an X-Box.

Special interests don't like Arnold because he kicks their butt
Kode replied to Chris's topic in Idle Banter
I always thought 'special interest' referred to the kind of people who were a minority, and didn't weild much power, generally, because they are a minority and not many other people (including other special interests) care (or know) about their point of view. However, when a group is as outspoken as this one (they did pay 125 hard-earned bucksees just to unfurl their banner...and get in the newspapers), they do weild certain power. By the way, that Arnie quote is great. -
Something about me, is that I just can't stay asleep after 7. If I sleep really late, that's changed to 8. But that's about the max. I think it's because by then I really really have to go to the bathroom because of all the water I drink during the night. But I'm glad you're having this discovery. Always good to have some consistency with one's sleep.

Whoops! Yeah, I forgot that. Now I remember the silly-looking Dragon Logo that BioWare had. Yeah, so Bioware did make BG2...

Black Isle also made Baldur's Gate and co. which is quite an addition to one's resume, if you ask me.

Yes, this is quite frustrating. And like Treesus, for some reason I don't think it'll be as good as the first one (which would be saying a lot) but I really hope it is. Even if it isn't as good as KOTOR, though, I'll still love it. Just as long as it isn't bad.

Personally, I think he is neither ugly nor not good looking. He just has prominent front teeth, 'tis all.

Like Remixor said, it was a little more convinient to say "God". It's something like he will send this army to this LJ. Or that's what they'll claim. Maybe.
-
You just invited God's wrath to your LJ.

Well the prize is the knowledge that you've got it in you to be a designer/artist. But you're right. That's a little too much passion for me at this stage.

Is the games industry larger than the movie industry? I, at first, thought not, but a friend of mine insists it is. By "large", I mean, as an examples, the sum of all the money that all the games make in a year. How is this number compared to a similar number in the movie industry? Sure, a game like Halo 2 is expected to dwarf most movie sales, but is the industry as a whole anywhere near the movie industry in terms of money made?

Wow, this is certainly news to me. But I'm sure what Marek has said deserves some credence. I guess I was basing my thought process on Ron Gilbert's recent article on the Behind the Scenes of making a game. He did claim that it was hardly accurate, but I guess I took the fact that he said it's difficult to break even a little too seriously. After all, that is a 2D point n' click adventure and merely hypothetical.

But it's out for PC now. And you probably know that. Personally, I don't like any of the consoles (yes, I've tried them). So Halo 2 or not, I probably won't be getting an Xbox. Hopefully (maybe) Halo 2 will come out for the PC sometime soon. I can wait 2 years. Really, I can.

I felt exactly the same way about some of the levels. While playing the Library, the only sentiment in my head wasn't, "Cool!", and it wasn't, "Eeek!", it was "Oh, god! When is this going to end." That much said, the game had its redeeming qualities - things that made it one of the best games I've ever played - namely, the story and general gameplay. One of the few reasons keeping me going through the game was my desire to find out more. That said, I won't be getting Halo 2 because I don't own, nor do I intend on getting, an Xbox. But my roommate's getting it, so most likely I'll play it sometime.

I played GuildWars during E3 too. I liked it back then...but I tried it on Friday, on the most recent beta, and I didn't like it *that* much. The concept of being able to play with a friend, in your own world, however, is appealing. Too bad my computer starting acting up (or lack thereof) on Saturday and I couldn't play any more of the beta.

May I. *bats eyelashes*

This game consisted of, easily, the most enjoyable game time of my gaming life. Just play it like you would any other game. Apart from the suggestions already given, my suggestion is to save the game when you get to the Upper Summit...you'll know what I mean (maybe) when you get there.

Hopefully this isn't too late, but I'm assuming that since you have a DVD drive in your laptop and that it wasn't self-assembled (meaning you bought it from some kind of company pre-assembled), you should have a CD that consists of DVD software that came with your computer. If you are trying to watch DVDs in Windows Media Player, then you would need those silly codecs. If, however, you installed some of the software from those CDs (usually something like WinDVD or Intervideo DVD or something like that), you wouldn't need codecs. (I think.) Basically, what I'm suggesting is, since you don't have internet on that computer, look around your CD's provided by your computer's manufacturer and you should find something handy. G'luck.

Can I call this site "The T" when mentioning it in day-to-day conversations?
Kode replied to toblix's topic in Idle Banter
I think Boston's subway line is already called "The T". You can probably call it "IT" -
I actually liked the Red vs Blue (Halo) parody they have in Episode 4, but other than that, it seems to me like a series showing off an annoying guy's annoying accent. Though, I must admit, uber-micro is the coolest thing ever...his use of it in the bar in Episode 2 was hilarious.

Not only do I never swear, but I'm also not human.

I agree about the Indy stuff. Even though all his stuff is just ordinary - a bullwhip, a hat, and revolver, etc. - he just makes it cool. And then there's James Bond...
