Not if you just published it through cafepress! That way, pretty much no one will know about it (unless, of course, you start pointing it out to the jewish communities)! Seems like you can publish anything you damn well please over there. Stop making excuses and write a book already. Slacker.

I, personally, prefer a checkpoint system--if it is implemented well (which, in Halo, it most certainly is). It's not frustrating, it's challenging. I loved the original Halo (the second one I loved too, but not nearly as much) for a number of reasons. I believe there's a rant around here somewhere from Chris that explains those reasons perfectly. (Edit: Here it is.) EDIT: Just read this bit: I think the two-weapon system is brilliant. Again, it doesn't add frustration, it adds challenge and strategy. I've never had as much fun with a FPS as I did with Halo (and that includes Half-Life 2, which is a remarkable game). Also: Have you played it through on Legendary Co-op? I think you'll find it quite enjoyable.

That brightened my day considerably.

Bah! You guys are crazy! The distinctive art style! The original and unforgettable names like "Buzz" and "Slick" and...whatever the other ones were! You people just don't know what good television is--No, this isn't good television. This is x-treme television. To the max. -
I'm not saying that coverdiscs specifically are a reason that magazines are holding on. I don't even feel that magazines will hold on. I can agree that, in the future, the magazines will fall behind and become obsolete, but for the time being, magazines can still hold their own. Using the OXM coverdisc as an example, I was only showing how a magazine could still have a competitive edge over a website. So it's not really "Why your game magazine sucks" but rather "Why you game magazine will suck." Then again, I could still very well be missing the point. I've only read that quote so far. Also, going off of this bit: I would love to see some free downloadable demos available over Xbox Live. I know that's not exactly what you mean, but you'd think they would have at least tried it....

Oh man. 2001: Space Odyssey? Fecking painful. I still haven't gotten past the halfway point of that movie.

I beg to differ with the point that a gaming magazine can't compete with an online gaming site. OXM is an excellent example. Like gaming sites, OXM is very rarely anything more than previews and reviews. But when it comes down to whether I want to watch a video of Splinter Cell 3 gameplay on a website, or play the actual game on an OXM disc, you can probably guess which one I'm going with. Where else are you going to get demos and downloads for your Xbox? Getting the OXM demo disc is one of the best parts of my month, and it has introduced me to some of my favorite games--Crimson Skies and Breakdown, to name a couple--and even introduced me to Ted Leo and the Pharmacists (quite possibly my favorite band of all time). So eat it, Gamespot.

Link! Kind of a wierd debut, but a debut nonetheless.

Funny how failure smells a lot like EA.

Looks like a load of bullplop to me. The projector I use was the first decent one to be under $1,000 ($900-something at the time, conveniently dropping to $800 a month or two after I bought it. Of course.) The quality is really good, but it isn't really great. Considering, I simply can't imagine a projector priced at $16.95 being anything but a piece of crap.

Maybe I don't fully understand yet, but I really don't see how well this is going to play out.

Sounds like someone's been reading their Crichton...

It's amazing how easily I recognize Rob Paulsen's voice. I used to watch Animaniacs back in the day, and now I when I hear his voice in a game, no matter how different it is--be it Metal Arms, Escape from Monkey Island, or Armed and Dangerous--I always think, "That's gotta be Rob Paulsen." I'm not entirely sure why.

Finally. And good riddance.

Bungie had to make some sacrifices to totally eliminate load times between levels (so as to not interrupt the playing experience), and one of those was that objects sometimes have to render on the fly. It really doesn't bother me that much. It is wierd looking though.

There's always Katamari.
