  1. Random Psychonauts Tidbits (possible spoilers)

Another side note: Apparently, Dogen has some pretty important relatives; one of them is engraved on a log by the campfire. Campton Boole.
  2. Random Psychonauts Tidbits (possible spoilers)

Curses! Would you happen to remember where and when those happen? EDIT: Ah! I found another one! Possibly the first?
  3. Random Psychonauts Tidbits (possible spoilers)

That's the other thing I was wondering about. I didn't see any evidence of that relationship between the two of them before their brains were stolen, but as soon as you rebrain Mikhail he's all "I have to find the boss". Before that, he was always just talking about bears. I'm thinking I missed something...
  4. Random Psychonauts Tidbits (possible spoilers)

You're right. I was amazed how quickly and easily I got through the Meat Circus the second time. Also, if you want to get back to past minds while in the meat circus, you don't need to find a little teleporter guy--just bust out your smelling salts. It brings you right to the collective unconcious. I played the game through again to get everything I didn't get the first time. This time, after I collected all the brains, I actually went back to the camp to rebrain them all. Then I just ran around the camp and used clairvoyance--and pretty much every other power-- on all the kids. Pretty funny stuff. Though I'm not entirely sure I understand why Mikhail just sees you in black clothes.
  5. San Diego Comicon

Heh heh. Knar. That's like Knorr, only different.
  6. Nerd Shirts

Barring my Decemberists shirt and my two Ted Leo shirts, I don't own a single t-shirt that hasn't come from either Threadless, Doublefine, or Diesel Sweeties. What can say? They make damn fine shirts. In other news: "shirt" is a very silly word.
  7. Nintendo, I love you.

    Fuck!
  8. Bizarre search terms leading to Idle Thumbs

A good name, but a silly name nonetheless. Also, I have found that it's very difficult to come up with a good name for a general gaming site without sounding incredibly cliche. Anything with the word "game" in it, for instance, instantly sounds lame. Undressed Psychonauts.
  9. Psychonauts Difficulty Curve

Er...have you tried pressing "Y"? Unless, of course, you're talking about the PC demo, in which case I have no idea what to press.
  10. WTF?! Prey back from the dead?

I pretty much had the same opinion of the game up until about ten minutes ago when I watched the gameplay footage. Sure, the plastic monsters are still there, and they pretty much look like all the other plastic monsters we've seen, but damn. The gameplay looks awesome. It appears as though there will be enough interesting and cool situations happening that it will never feel like it's getting old.
  11. Boycott Star Wars III

It took 20 questions to guess that I was thinking of a Koala. I admit I was little surprised, because both the questions and some of my answers were pretty vague. Also: I dig the clapping storm trooper and Boba Fett in the background.
  12. Idle Thumbs Giveaway!! - DOOM III Xbox

My god! It's some sort of enraged cyborg!
  13. Happy Birthday Mr. T

Oh man. That made my day.
  14. The XBOX 360 revelation thingy

I didn't feel like starting a new 360 thread, but check this out: http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=8996 So much for backwards compatibility. "Sure, you can play Halo 2 on your Xbox 360! But, uh, you'll have to buy the Xbox 360 version first." Fuck.
  15. Nintendo Revolution

I would be lying if I said I wasn't intrigued by the bit about independent developers. If the inevitable "gaming renaissance" happens during this generation of consoles, and the 360 and PS3 are still shilling the sort of stuff they are now (big budget, "photo-realism", and a general lack of creativity), the Revolution may play a bigger part than we think.
  16. Ha ha ha! Shittiest. Press Release. Ever.
  17. Psychonauts hate thread

Yeah, I would agree that it does get pretty tough, but I wouldn't say it all goes to hell from there. The rabbit/Ollie sequence took me a very long time to get past--it requires patience more than anything--but after that, it's all downhill. But not the bad kind of downhill. Like the rollercoaster sort of downhill, where it's exhilarating and fun.
  18. Ps3

...Why...does the controller look like a boomerang? Also, the Spider Man font is ridiculous. Not only does it just not look good on that design (as if anything would), it's so obviously the spider man font that that's the only thing people will think of when they see it. But maybe I'm just being overly cynical. I've been an asshole all day.
  19. My review of E3

I agree. I can't really think of anything at E3 this year I'm interested in seeing.
  20. Ps3

    Oh, sweet! A printer!
  21. Write some reviews in 15 words or less

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory Co-op: Highly enjoyable. Best co-op experience I've had in a long time.
  22. Happy Birthday, Yufster!

    Yay!
  23. Tim Schafer on Icons today on G4

Let's play a game. It's called "Guess Who My New Favorite Person Is". Here's a hint: it begins with an "n" and ends with "etmonkey". This is actually a pretty interesting show. Also: I sprained my wrist! Typing hurts.
  24. The XBOX 360 revelation thingy

I think Microsoft is setting themselves up for some serious hurt. The nice thing about the Xbox is it is, undebatably, the most powerful console available. It came late in the game, and was therefore equipped with the newest stuff. This time around, the XBOX 360 is the first one out of the gate, so it misses certain opportunities, such as the inclusion of a PPU or HD DVD drive. The PS3 or Revolution will most likely include both of these. Still, it has some fairly impressive specs, and some of the features sound pretty cool. It will be interesting to see who wins the so-called "console war" this time around. As for me, I'll probably buy all three of them. I'm a sucker like that.
