  1. Raz?

You talked me into it, Chris. I just ordered Hickee from Mars Imports. I'ma see if I like that one before I buy the others. Also, Yufster: "Hooves up"?
  2. Thief: DS demo, and some questions

I rented it, and this just about sums up my thoughts on it. This game gets a big fat "Meh" from me too.
  3. Tim's not fat! He's....pleasantly plump.
  4. I thought it was good, too. I particularly liked the bit with the Fresno Peace group. I didn't have to wait in line or anything (on the other hand, I live out in Bumblefuck, Wisconsin) but the theater was still packed. And as I left the theater some woman was handing out these slips of paper on how to...I don't know, "help the cause." Or "Turn up the heat" as the paper says. (This didn't make any sense to me; Moore said that Farenheit 9/11 was the temperature at which liberty burns, so these people--the League Of Pissed Off Voters--want to burn liberty faster?) I don't know. I didn't really bother reading the thing. I can't decide which I like better; Farenheit 9/11 or Bowling for Columbine. I'm leaning toward the latter, though, possibly because it had more new information in it.
  5. Raz?

Perhaps it was this: I remember that. Don't you?
  6. Absolutely. At one time, motion pictures were nothing more than a novelty, but now there are films out there that are pieces of art. I think as the game industry evolves (as rapidly as it is), there will definately be games that are considered "just for fun", and some that will be considered "art." (And who said art couldn't be fun?) I don't know if we should "hope" for this "ascension", but I personally think it's inevitable.
  7. Raz?

Now you can reminisce on it twice! Score!
  8. fat cat. no reason.

Those, sir, are the finest fat cats I've ever seen. I mean that.
  9. ladies and gents: THIS is austrian entertainment

... That... That was unspeakably disturbing.
  10. ladies and gents: THIS is austrian entertainment

Burned by the fire of angels again. (Link doesn't work.)
  11. Vroom

What is with you people? Doom, Zoom, Loom, Vroom, and Gloom? It's like some sort of...some sort of -oom lover's society. Well, I hate -ooms! Ha! How do you like them apples!?
  12. Features all games should have

Amen. Particularly with an FPS, the level of enjoyment taken from a game is multiplied tenfold when you're bustin' skulls with a buddy. Even The Library (the level from Halo that critics and gamers repeatedly put down and call "repetitive") is amazingly fun with co-op. And if what I hear is correct, Splinter Cell 3 with co-op will, without a doubt, kick some serious tail.
  13. The Massive List of Retro Games!

Ah, I just remembered one. Atomic Bomberman. I was hooked on that game. Hooked like a fish on heroin.
  14. I'm not. I'm going to become very angry and shout at the sofa.
  15. Loom

I keep trying to really watch that movie, but I never get past the first half hour. It's a remarkably boring movie.
  16. Tell Us About Yourself

Hello! I'm Mark, 17, born in Misery Missouri, raised in Pennsylvania, and currently living in Wisconsin. Past times include: Reading, writing, procrastination, making mediocre adventure games, getting my ass kicked in Full Spectrum Warrior, and taking long walks along the tropical beaches of Wisconsin.
  17. Dear OftenK,

Does it have fancy silver writing on it? Does it have an amusing little devil on it? Does it smell just like Double Fine? I didn't think so.
  18. Commander Keen

I can't find a good screenshot of it, but this site has an interview with Romero where they mention it, and a picture of the fixed version.
  19. Cure procrastination

I could make an obvious "I'll tell you tomorrow" joke, but that would not only be lame but also a lie, since I do not know. Have you tried hypnosis?
  20. The Massive List of Retro Games!

Let's not forget the Lost Vikings. Or maybe I'm the only one that ever liked that game.
  21. Commander Keen

Heh. I've still got the version of episode 5 that contains the infamous "pipe swastika" that John Romero put in one of the levels. That crazy, crazy bastard.
  22. Chronicles of Riddick

It sure as hell looks beautiful. TeamXbox has a video on the Normal Mapping technique they used. It's pretty interesting, if you're into that kind of stuff. Also, I played the demo, and frankly...the way of picking up health looks like it hurts more than getting shot. But hey, I've never had 2 foot long spikes jammed into my neck, so what do I know?
