  1. I hate it when...

I know what you mean Toblix. It has bothered me a little, but not a huge amount. It would be nice if we got use our own brain to solve puzzles a bit more. Silent Hill 2 was good for this kind of thing... too good in fact. I couldn't be bothered to work out some of the puzzles when set to hard. I guess that's what the game designers are afraid of. But yes it is nice when you work something out and get rewarded for it, rather than just triggering a cut-scene that tells you what the character has discovered.
  2. Half-Life - Advice needed

Hmmm, it is a tough fight. I guess just try and grab some breaths while fighting it. Remember that using using sprint will also decrease your oxygen.
  3. TV Gaming

    Velociraptor Safari.
  4. Half-Life - Advice needed

Yeah, there is a way to get in that cage before going in the water, and the crossbow is the best weapon you have against the alien shark (damn that thing is scary!)
  5. Off-Road Velociraptor Safari

That's true Toblix, probably my complaint as well. Too often trying to do somethignt hat ought to be cool stops you dead in your tracks. Also, I'm just going to reiterate:
  6. TV Gaming

Yes but he's not playing on console, he's playing on a PC using a joypad.
  7. Off-Road Velociraptor Safari

COMING SOON FROM THE MAKERS OF VELOCIRAPTOR SAFARI!
  8. TV Gaming

Flying and driving games are probably a good match. Bob recently talked me into trying out Freespace 2 - it sems to be abandonware so you can get it at Underdogs, albeit without all the movie reels.
  9. Pokemon Friend Codes

    Britney Spears?
  10. "Anonymous" declares war on Scientology

Heh. Props to those guys though, for being brave enough to stay put with so few of them.
  11. Got $6million spare?

I'd have extra arms grafted onto my shoulders.
  12. Got $6million spare?

Yeah, way to ruin a living room.
  13. GTA IV

Me too, I love Vice City and played it lots, but I've only dabbled briefly in the others.
  14. Thunderpeel, Yeah Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was good, reminded me a lot of comedy-suspense classics like Gross Point Blank. LOPcagney, you don't know ANYTHING about BSG? Holy crap. OK, well I'm going to assume that you know of the original 70's series. The new show is very naturalistic in it's treatment of space (similar to Firefly in that regards). The Battlestar itself is treated much like a modern Aircraft Carrier, from uniforms and military doctrine to the kinds of people found aboard. The whole series is quite political, and made to feel contemporary with our world. SO although it is a space drama it is incredibly accessible. Throw in some crazy mysticism and constant mysteries to solve and you have something that WHY ARE YOU STILL READING THIS AND NOT WATCHING IT ALREADY FFS?

  16. Where's me present then?

Happy Birthday Wrestle! Since you gave us Velociraptor Safari, I will give you this image of a wise old raptor: Dammit I forgot the feathers!
  17. Movie/TV recommendations

Cool, I really want to see Cloverfield. I just need someone to go with now
  18. Gears of War for Windows

Yeah, Gears is far from the first game to have a cover mechanic. It may be the first to do it as well, and possibly the first to make it the core mechanic. The cover mechanic works well for a console shooter, since it slows the pace down and you can take a bit more time wrestling crosshairs on-target without fear of being shot. Running, dodging and shooting at the same time, easy on the PC, has always been trickier on joypads. Besides that I think it's success is just down to lots of polish (you can see the polish, it makes everything shiny!).
  19. "Anonymous" declares war on Scientology

Thing is, Scientologists love to be persecuted. It makes them feel like a real religion. They''ll probably use this opportunity to get all martyr-y and stuff.
  20. Zero Punctuation

CoD4 It had me laughing out loud a couple of times. Another satisfying watch.
  21. gay-PARSHIP.co.uk

    Or a parsnip?
  22. Time for some beat poetry

Thumbs isn't a bus. Unless it is a red London bus that transforms into a giant robot. It's autobot name would be, uh, Wayfare, or something. Half-fare if you are under 16.
  23. gay-PARSHIP.co.uk

I think it's like a pairing. Or maybe a parsing.
  24. Who would you vote for?

That was just one indication of her rising conservatism. I now think of her as a Republican sleeper agent.
