  1. Crock Band

All games and computer-based goods (even CDs) are inflated in price here, and always have been. I've been outraged longer than you have
  2. Movie/TV recommendations

To counteract the above remake awfulness, here is some potentially awesome news.
  3. More Reader Comments from The Sun

OMG the TV made them do it! They were copying the TV! TV is evil and should be banned for the protection of the childrens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111eleventyone
  4. Movie/TV recommendations

Yeah I was pretty much referring to the B&T remake. Short Circuit seems pointless, but not as outrageous.
  5. Movie/TV recommendations

http://geeksofdoom.com/2008/04/07/remake-madness/ NO! Bad movie execs! Bad! Go to your bed. Please, please be nothing but rumours.
  6. Hullo, people of Brighton

Yeah I thought she would know better, hailing from Ireland and all. I guess she's been here too long. It snows two or three days a year here on the South coast, and it almost never settles. But it's been a trend that I've observed for a few years now that the heaviest snow we get arrives around late March, interrupting spring.
  7. Yes, I also liked the crews reaction to Starbuck's return. It was the best and most realistic of several possible methods of bringing her back. Plus, as often happens on the show, it has created a lot more questions than answers.
  8. Best reviews I've ever read

They do have to be rated if they have content worthy of a label for 15 or over (when they are rated by the British Board of Film Classification). And ratings under that are voluntary. Hence it is surprising that COD4 is not rated.
  9. Erm there was a bit of it in the second series, and then the third season went a bit mental. Gaius Baltar: "Riiiiiiight" Man that made me laugh
  10. wtf

Fiz what? I don't know what you're talking about.
  11. Well maybe, but you have to admit there is more peril than in Dr Who. And there's been at least a couple of moments when I thought that, for instance, Roselyn was going to die. I doubt everyone is going to survuve this final season either. Saw the episode. Oooh it feels good to be back. I wouldn't be surprised if there are lots of cliffhangers this series, as it feels like it's going to be one big arc rather than neatly divided episodes.
  12. Dawn of War 2

That motivational poster put a big smile on my face. It is now my desktop. MWHAHAHAHAHAH
  13. Ahhghghghgh I need a source for this. However I did get a pleasant surprise in today's Times:
  14. Dawn of War 2

Yummy! Oh and I really have to set the record straight. At a glance 40K may just seem like "orcs and elves in spaaaaace", but it has long since evolved beyond that. The background is really gritty and dark, and not in a "trying too hard" kind of way. It's more like space horror than space fantasy. When you read that the only way humanity can navigate around the galaxy is by the psychic beacon on Earth, and that beacon is fueled by the consumption of millions of psychic human souls... and humanity is the good guys... well that has a certain charm

I don't get paid until next week (if at all ) but I have enough to celibrate your arrival on the Silicon Beach. Indeed, where are you staying? We can pick a bar close by.

  17. I guess I agree. It was fun, and compietant, but it played out exactly how you expect it would. At no point did anything really surprise me in the way the film was made. The closest it came was If you say to someone "Godzilla style monster movie plus the camcorder mockumentary style from Blair Witch" then they already have the film in their head. I tried to read up on the meta fiction and outside-film backstory, but it's typical "Lost" pretentious vagueness.
  18. wtf

Really? Hah! And who says hacker kiddies lack imagination?
  19. So...

Yes but it's the principle isn't it? Besides the fact that you would get money out of it without having to work, these people obviously need training to teach them not to be such cunts. It's a pavlovian thing, like with dogs and children and other dumb animals. Act nice = reward; act cunty = punishment. By not punishing them you are making the world a worse place Seriously, I know at least two people that have taken their ex-employers to work tribunal and won easily. Sue the bastards.
  20. Is it wrong...

Yes it is. But: 1) is she hot? 2) If so, I'll take her so that you don't have to wrestle with this dilemma any more. Because I am so kind.
  21. It's time for Moustache March!

Lies! Photos or it all never happened! It was all a setup to an eleborate April Fools joke.
  22. So...

Did the algorithm enjoy the whiskys as much as you did? I woke up on time today, but I felt like the walking dead.
  23. So...

I overslept becausr of the clocks changing to British Summer TIme, so I was late to Art college and got caught trying to sneak in to class. After that I got a lot of work done though. Then when I got home I got a call from a friend who runs a pub, asking me to cover for somene who didn't tuen up. Turns out tonight is the first night back for all the uni students so we were really fucking busy and I've only just got home But I feel knackered in a "job well done" kind of way so I am happy. Now to see if I will wake up on time tomorrow morning... edit: I also lost my phone. It wasn't an iPhone. It my a myPhone.
  24. Bored with new video games?

Reading the original post again, it strikes me that you are focussing pretty much entirely on "Triple A" games, those that are most hyped but also most derivative. Perhaps you should make an effort to seek out the less-publicised single-A or B-grade games that come out. There are often a few little beauties hidden amongst these, especially amongst japanese releases. Try spreading your boundries and try a genre you don't normaly go for - a turn based RPG perhaps. Or do what I do and go to a games site and read through the entire list of upcoming games for the next year. I'm often surprised by how many games I'm looking forward to that I forgot about.
