  4. The Real Garfield

Garfield used to be funny. You know, when I was a kid, before my brain had fully developed. But still funny. These days the new ones make me kind of sad.
  5. Yeah Coldkill, we know, but the writers can always change their mind. Or they might have lied to Sackhoff in order to keep her performance genuine. I'm doubtful that Roselyn is a cylon, because of her cancer. Cylons seem to shrug off illness and injury more easily (Remember how Tyrol faired much better than Cally after being sucked out into vacuum? And Anders recovered quickly from his illness too). Plus she's a been a constant target for the cylons. On the other hand, she did share the vision of the Opera House.
  6. Marek, I think that exchange was Adama basically accusing Kara of being a cylon. Her reaction is to be very upset and retort with the "No, harder". Talking of Adama and his cutting comments, his final word to Roselyn in their cabin was both brutal and amazing. I practically cheered. Cylon Mythology: I picked up on something pretty throway in ep 2. Cavil mentioned "The programmers", so before the skinjobs there must have been some cylon mainframe or something capable of serious creativity and R&D. Of course we're not talking humans here, so such a mainframe might have recognised when it had made itself obsolete with the creation of the Hybrid, and then deleted itself. Or maybe that was the centurions. Talking of the hybrid, here's the First Hybrid speech at the end of Razor. It mentions the revealing of the first four of the Five, and has some clues as to the identity of the Fifth. Finally, here's a recap on my own pet theory.
  7. Yes, my list of candidates are: Kara Thrace, obviously Baltar, as Marek said, makes a surprise return to the running The Oracle Admiral Adama ("If you're a cylon, just tell me" "If I'm a cylon, you're all frakked"). Wrestle, did you see my theory in the previous BSG thread? It joins up on a few points there. EDIT: Oh, and Norfolk, would we be overanalysing it and spooging about it like this if it was just OK? No. Go catch up. I actually envy you, having all that awesomeness to look forward to.
  8. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Thanks! I was obviously barking up the wrong artist entirely.
  9. Don't forget tge latest episode. "Handle with care". "Ooh I'd love to". LOL? Only a lot.
  10. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Cool, I just found that there are a few different places online where you can download Chick Habit by April March (the credits music for Death Proof). I really like this tune. Haven't been able to find much else by April March, but I'll keep looking I think. EDIT: the rest of her stuff is a bit meh
  11. The Great "Rock Band" European Rip-Off!

You're a specious reasoning! OK OK, I don't care how or why, but the whole thing stinks and I hope they lose some money and realise their mistake.
  12. The Great "Rock Band" European Rip-Off!

It really is out of order. And then companies bitch and whine when people import stuff. If it is financially viable for an individual to import a single item, then it follows that it would be more so for a large company importing en mass.
  13. The Colour of Magic (Discworld)

I wouldn't say it was awful, but it wasn't great. I thought it picked up towards the end though. And yes Chen was a good portrayal. Hogfather was on the whole better. As you say, it was a bit of mess of lots of stuff, which is exactly why I didn't think this book would make a good adaptation. Hopefully they'll choose one with a stronger narrative next time. Other than Mort and Pyramids, I think the early books don't have quite bite of the later ones.
  14. Movie/TV recommendations

I finally got round to seeing Enchanted. It was.. OK. Not as good as the buzz surrounding it would warrant. Shrek did the same basic thing better, seven years ago. It lacked enough sting in the fairy tail.
  15. Episode 2. Oh man, those crazy cylons. Go Six go! Ahhg this waiting a whole week for the next episode is going to get difficult, I can tell.
  16. Art/wank games

I hadn't heard of it either. Your post made me google it in fact. It's just a slightly lame joke. Who cares? It will be forgotten in 2 days. Not even worth hating on.
  17. Baltar has always been the Fool in the BSG tarot. ..said the Joker to the Thief...
  18. The Gaius cult was almost totally comic relief to me. It was all hilarious. But I suspect that it is also through them that we will finally find out what the "God" thing is all about. I liked the reactions to Starbuck's return, especially Tyrol's stunned reply. The Chief is fast becoming my favourite character. One thing I would say is that a lot of the character's have undergone a bit of a personality shift since the end of season 3, even though no time is meant to have passed. For the four newly discovered cylone that makes sense, but Roselyn is suddenly a heartless bitch, Adama has reverted back to ineffectual bystander, Lee has lost his edge and Starbuck has gone certifiably psycho plot tool. Oh well, more tonight. A few answers and lots more questions I'll warrant
  19. Zero Punctuation

    No More Heroes.
  20. Uwe Boll: I'm a genius

    A response.
  21. Movie/TV recommendations

My Neighbour Totaro is my favourite. It makes me feel all warm inside.
  22. Uwe Boll: I'm a genius

Yeah, that's the reason we hate Boll. Because he gobbles up IPs and shits them out. It also leads to the more widespread perception that games have no narrative worth. How many film personalities have said things to that effect in recent years? Too many, and it's almost certainly because of Boll. Also, the unshakeable self-certainty he displays is something I find naturally abhorrent. It's that kind of attitude that has lead to horrors like genocide. Yes, I'm comparing Boll to [[+++GODWIN'S LAW ERROR+++REDO FROM START+++]]
  23. Movie/TV recommendations

Don't forget the Emmy award winning episode, Hush (in the otherwise meh season 4). That really is excellent directing. Season 5 is Glory, right? I didn't rate that, besides the occasional stand-alone episodes within it. On the other hand I liked Willow's fall from grace arc in Season 6. I guess everyone has their own preferences. The pilot episode isn't that great really. Watch a few more of season 1, there's some good episodes in there, even if it prefers a "monster of the week" approach rather than the grand arcs that made the later seasons so great. For me, it was the humour that pulled me into the show. It doesn't take itself too seriously (always a good thing when dealing with the potential emo-fest of vampire TV - see Angel).
  24. Dawn of War 2

I never really played much of Z, but I do remember it having excellent character design and being very funny.
