Yup, Tigh's got the balls. Like Adama told him a couple of episodes ago, he's a changed man cylon.

Metal Gear Solid 4 - Guns of the Saucer Men From Mars
DanJW replied to Cigol's topic in Video Gaming
I only played MGS3 and absolutely fell in love with it. I guess I should play the first two at some point, but I don't think they could live up to 3. -
THis thread is like a spambot magnet apprently.

We do have snowy mountain regions, mostly in Scotland. Also lots of rivers and streams that can kill you if you fall in, but most kids aren't told that these days as they don't play in the countryside any more But yeah not many extreme conditions. Maybe that's why we have so many homeless...

Haha yeah, I was totally expecting to see the statue's head poking out of the sand. Manic episode that, can't believe they pulled all 4 cylons out of the bag at once. mysterious thing about the 5th though eh? Not in the fleet apparently. For a few minutes I thought that Starbuck's viper might turn out to be it, sentient in the same way as a cylon raider. But no. So which character could make a surprise return as the 5th? (or it could have been someone already aboard the basetar, like Baltar, but you would have thought D'anna would say something to them).

Yeah I'm not angry at it at all, I think it's a good article. But it doesn't have The Magical Answer.

Haha, you just know that the 'explanation' is going to be totally lame. Killer bees probably. Oh well, I can get half-price tickets so it might be fun just to go and take the piss out of.

This argument started because of the recent debunking of the crystal skulls. But let me put it another way: with the new Indiana film mythology, it is entirely possible that they retcon all the religious artifacts - including the Ark - to be the product of alien technology. God is an alien. How would that feel? Because that's what the new film implies. Sucks don't it? Back on topic again. I think I'm going to see The Happening next week. Not hoping for an awful lot, based on what The Village delivered, but because of the name I'm kind of hoping it's about 1940s beatniks. Totally Happening man!

The military use games to train in group tactics and coordination. They don't help with the actual shooting part.

Also, while there is a little bit of similarity between human-looking targets and video games, clicking a mouse is very different to firing a gun. Yes, I've done both; I had rifle training in the army cadets as a teenager. Everything about the experience is missing from the weight, the smell, the feel of the steel. Real shooting is a very visceral experience and no amount of virtual practice will prepare you for it. While I love FPS games I still retain my rifle discipline that taught me never to point a weapon, even an unloaded one, at a living person. I'd also say civilian shooting clubs are more likely to habitualise the shooting reflex than games are. Also because of infinite lives, games teach a kamikaze approach. If someone used Video game tactics in a live-fire situation they'd be dead very fast indeed.

Although I admit that it has happened quite a bit this season, I didn't think that really happened in this episode. If you're talking about what Roselyn did to Baltar, I think that's well within her character. She really really hates him. And as for betraying the cylons a bit, she made it clear she was going to do that from the start of the deal.

Yet another B&W child portrait. Whats with that?

Dude are you trying to get us on the scient0logist radar? I don't want to be fair game

Sure, I'll post it next week when the exhibition goes public.

A real face-melter (or "Hayfever's a right b*st*rd!")
DanJW replied to Wrestlevania's topic in Idle Banter
It should still work, as the hookworm modulates the autoimmune response of the entire body. Alternatively, try goggles. Just tell people you are going for the Vin Diesel/Riddick look. -

You should try to cure yourself using parasites. -
Yes, if you remember you stayed at the club as it was closing but Mike and I went to a casino. Then we went back to his flat and drank coffee until the sun was well up.

How was your sister's party then Ginger? You Lando...

That article fails to include face-melting ghosts amongst the contents Something obviously changed in Lucas' film style. The money-making seems like a good bet - like he's been influenced too much by flashy-but-crappy hollywood summer blockbusters. I remember him saying in an interview that Star Wars had to 'move with the times'. There's a lack of integrity in the work.

Oh for fucks sake.

That is uplifting. You should screen-grab it frame it. "the day some good things happened in the news". Edit: Oh, it's fake

Oh, forgot two things in the last episode: Racetrack's CGI spacewalk looked rubbish. First time the shows graphics have let me down. Secondly, fisticuffs between Adama and Tye = win. So this weeks episode was also great, although it felt a bit rushed. Yeah, Baltar was good, I enjoyed his little conversation with the centurion too. Just one more episode before the mid-season break. Can't wait to see if D'anna will out any of the Final Five. It's going to be a long summer of waiting after that though. Oh also

That completely fails to surprise me. Lucas has gone proper mental. Or perhaps he always was.

Yay, just got back home from my night out, and it is 6am. I feel this counts as a success! Thanks everyone.

The stats system works quite well, in that you will get better at whatever you do most (although melee for instance will be really hard at the start if you don't begin with a boost). Yahtzee was mistaken in that hybrid characters don't work - in oblivion they work fine. Plus there is a large assortment of premade charcter classes to choose from. In fact people that play the game a lot often choose to invert their stats - choosing their core stats to be not the ones they plan to use most. Although this seems weird it allows you to become much more powerful by the end of the game, because you can improve stats more before hitting the level cap.
