I think it needs to be more like comic-con, which everyone seems to look forward to. I guess that would mean lots of small stalls, very few big events, all much more low-key, relaxed and intimate but with lots of choice. As it is it seems like a shouting match amongst the big playres, as to who has the loudest voice.
  2. U R Left 4 Dead

Apparently there are safe rooms where you can stop and take a breather and listen to the hordes of undead outside. The one thing I don't like so much is the crazy types of weird zombies. They seem a bit contrived. I'm sure the game will be awesome though.
  3. ‫‬‭‮‪‫‬‭‮Mirror's Edge

It does look good indeed, and I love it for introducing a new kind of action to gaming besides violence. Running away is action too! I'm hoping the fighting will be kept to a minimum, where you take on opponents only when you really have to. We've only seen the one environment, but that doesn't mean there can't be more later in.
  4. Dr. Horrible!

Heh, Thunderpeel did warn you earlier in the thread. It was only freely available until midnight on Sunday. For now it's just iTunes, and sometime in the future on DVD.
  5. Movie/TV recommendations

Yes you do. One other slight worry I have about the film is the heroes look pretty badass. I hope it still gets across the sense that most of them are slightly rubbish.
  6. Dr. Horrible!

The one that has a big banner link on the Dr Horrible site...
  7. Glorious crap!

OMFGNinjas! - - Seriously though those are some impressive sights. In comparison to this London is going to look pretty silly in four year's time, I'm guessing. -
  8. Glorious crap!

They are scaling a Borg Cubeship?
  9. Movie/TV recommendations

Yeah I was going to say that too. Whether the film lives up to the book will hinge a great deal on the dialogue and narration.
  10. Movie/TV recommendations

When it was first announced I was apprehensive, but the more I see of The Watchmen movie the happier I get. That trailer was astounding, one of the best movie trailers I think I've ever seen. It was like some really cool music video. They released these photos of the main 'heroes' on the production blog a while back (Ozymandius has had the biggest change, but I guess his costume in the book is a bit too camp for the screen). I especially love The Comedian - spot on!
  11. Limbo Of The Lost: EPIC FAIL

Yes they are! Did you not read that? Apparently they came back then made a press release to the effect of "We're as surprised as anyone! It must have been, erm, third-part outsourcers. Yup. We, err, just need to go into the other room for a moment to look for something. Back in a minute" (sound of breaking glass). Since then it's been very quiet though.
  12. Dr. Horrible!

Yeah, it's basically an origin story. From the credits we can see the other members of the Evil League of Evil: Professor Normal Fake Thomas Jefforson Tie-Die Dead Bowie Fury Leika Snake Bite Bad Horse (played to perfection by Dobber) We also saw the Pink Pummeler and the Purple Pimp. The myspace comic gives us a bit more time with Captain Hammer (Have a friend that excels in maths or science? Report him!).
  13. Dr. Horrible!

Well, gotta hand it to the man, he didn't go for the obvious ending Songs were't as good in act iii though.
  14. The official 'Welcome N0wak to London' thread

I don't think we have any Thumbers north of the border, but I have a few friends who are doing their first Edimborough festival shows this year. If you are there check out The Umbrella Show, and Holland and Hume and Someone Else
  15. The official 'Welcome N0wak to London' thread

I count for two. London could be fun. It has a lot more possible venues than Brighton, and I wouldn't mind a change of scene. On the other hand my funds are a bit stretched at the moment.
  16. Dr. Horrible!

That's what I'm hoping for too, Rodi. Just as long as the Doctor doesn't become a hero. Maybe she is actually Bad Horse... As for the songs, well I'm sure he could do greater thing if he was working with an experienced stage composer.
  17. ooh melee, I forgot about that. Next pyro to charge my heavy gets punched in the face. I'm sure things will get better once everyone has calmed down about getting the achievements. At the moment though I am forced to kill a constant stream of pyros, which gets a bit boring. It's like a massive conga line of flame.
  18. Limbo Of The Lost: EPIC FAIL

Ahhg I thought there was more LotL news. Goddamn spam!
  19. Back on topic, pyros are really getting on my nerves now. They are far too deadly, even with the slight tone-down they received following the pyro pack. The can burn through a heavy before he even spins up his gun. Combine this with the fact that most servers have instant respawn, and the single balancing factor for pyros is their short life-expectancy, and it explains why every team is now 50% pyros. Ahhhg!
  20. Where is everybody?

yup I'll try and keep the night free. From their website it seems it is justa general "geek" quiz. We might need a Star Trek expert. Thanks for the kind words on the art. I have a game-related piece that I will upload also.
  21. Idle Eyes (aka: art recommendations)

So while I was doing research for my art project, reading up on various "graphic novels as art", I came across Kabuki: The Alchemy. Now there are lots of incredibly talented big names in this catagory; Alan Moore, Frank Miller, Neil Gaiman and their assiocated artists; but David Mack really takes the biscuit for me. Everyone needs to read Kabuki: The Alchemy. It is one of the most mind-bending and creatively inspirational works I have ever had the pleasure to experience.
  22. Where is everybody?

I'm moving this post, because I don't feel comfortable posting it in the same thread as links to, you know, actual artists http://www.flickr.com/photos/77639495@N00/sets/72157606072536193/
  23. Dr. Horrible!

Is it me, or does Joss Whedon really need to write a Broadway musical? Also then bring it to London plz.
  24. Professor Layton and the Underpant Pillage

Dammit all week I have been reading this title as Underpant Village...
  25. From what I can tell it is three new games made with the DN3D engine, set during WWII (I think they kind of take the piss out of revisionist Hollywood films - one features Duke "sinking the Bismark"). It's pretty funny that running alongside this video, the Massive Action Game and God of War 3 trailers both contained no real information about theit games at all.
